Mark,Maybe you should take the time to read the reports before you come to the conclusion that Iran poses no threat. I have attached the November 11, 2011 Report, which demonstrates that (1) Iran continues to enrich uranium; and (2) Iran is not at all in compliance with the IAEA or forthcoming with what they are doing with their nuclear program.
Keith, I have read them. Enrichment is necessary to use fissionable material for ANY use, not just arms. There are MANY levels, each requiring its own method. Iran is out of sync for enriching their own material for fuel rods and medical devises. YOU need to read them for what they actually say...NOT what some think they IMPLY.
Just as important, I remember that whole hogwash line back about ten years ago, that Iran didn't have the capabilities of refining crude oil.
Everyone has the capacity to refine crude...they simply do not refine enough... I believe their capacity is 1.7 million barrels a day... they are short by about 40+ % of meeting thier own needs and import the difference.
Hogwash. Iran has been able to refine crude during my days in the oil business. Currently, according to Wiki, (which I agree is not the best source, Iran has the ability to refine almost two million barrels of oil daily. That's about where we are here in the U.S.

Maybe your friends ought to inform the Atomic Energy Commission of their findings, because what you wrote is clearly in conflict with the AEC's findings.Once again, PlainOl dodges the pertinent questions. Typical of most Crazy Uncle Ron supporters. I am watching the debate, and although Paul had a few good moments, he pretty much is getting his lunch eaten.

I have better sources than Panetta. I have FRIENDS in Iran. NONE of their equipment is configured for enrichment beyond rods for a plant. The missing equipment is VERY specialized and very noticeable. Iran has nothing that can not be found in any decent research library. Could they? Probably. Are they? not at this time. Will they? probably, just to piss people off and start a war. Paul is correct bat the present.

Crazy Uncle Ron made the "I Don't Care About Nuclear Weapons In Iran" back during the first three debates.Where are you getting that there is no evidence that Iran is not attempting to make a nuclear weapon? From Panetta's recent statement?

All the reports that are referred to claim a certainty that Iran is in the business of processing radioactive material solely for use in their Nuclear reactors and medical uses. There is no proof (not a shred) that there is anything else going on. Paul is on THAT committee. As opposed to all others he is the only candidate that would have access to all the evidence.Iran has a whole lot of oil... they have no refineries... They export crude and import gas, oil, and other oil products... that is why Paul says they don't even have enough gas for their cars...They don't.The USA has even more oil than Iran.... why in the hell are they using and refining the nuclear process??Do I want someone that looks at and assesses all the facts before screaming for war on unfounded bases. Why, yes, I do; if speaking of Paul.If the question is about Monkey man from Iran... then, No, I do not; fortunately there is not a shred of credible evidence that this will or can take place.--On Fri, Jan 13, 2012 at 1:16 PM, Keith In Tampa <keithintampa@gmail.com> wrote:
Why would Iran be attempting to obtain nuclear technology? What other reason could a Nation-State with as much oil reserves as Iran, be seeking nuclear power?Do you want this man in charge of a nuclear weapon?

Ron Paul told Iowa voters on Friday that he would not launch a
preemptive strike on Iran because "they don't threaten our national
security."
"If some other country thought they had to go to war with them, that
is their business," he said, adding there is no proof Iran is building
a nuclear weapon.
A recent IAEA report said that Iran's pursuit of nuclear technology
over several years could be consistent with the building of a bomb.
And Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta gave Iran "about a year, perhaps
a little less" before it could have a nuclear weapon.
There exists NO credible report that says a single word in the
positive that Iran is or has pursued a Nuke. If there is, please post
it.
