DHS Prepares for Civil Unrest as Destruction of 2nd Amendment Looms

DHS Prepares for Civil Unrest as Destruction of 2nd Amendment Looms

Susanne Posel, Contributor
Activist Post

Surveillance drones have a new mission. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) they will be used for "public safety". Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the DHS, told a House Committee meeting on Homeland Security that the more than 30,000 drones that will be deployed into American skies are just arbitrarily watching out for US citizens.

Napolitano stated:

With respect to Science and Technology, that directorate, we do have a funded project, I think it's in California, looking at drones that could be utilized to give us situational awareness in a large public safety [matter] or disaster, such as a forest fire, and how they could give us better information.

Secretly, DHS have been taking bids from contractors who can install "aerial remote sensing," which uses light detection and ranging (LIDAR) that would be part of the drone missions within domestic US territory.

"DHS believes these airborne images are essential for homeland defense missions, such as planning for National Special Security Events (Super Bowls or a national political conventions come to mind); enhancing border, port and airport security; as well as performing critical infrastructure inventories and assessments" and has spent over $50 million to employ contractors, as well as processors for images and dissemination throughout the DHS.

Coincidentally, the Federal Protective Service (FPS) has been given the responsibility to protecting federally owned property while preparing for civilian-led riots expected in the near future.

Part of the preparatory measures was an order of 150 sets of riot gear that was requested to be filled exponentially – within 15 days.

The items requested were:

  • 147 "Upper Body and Shoulder Protection" which are brand name or equal to "Centurion Soft Shell Riot Control System (CPX2500)"
  • 152 "Thigh-Groin Protector" brand name or equivalent to "Centurion TPX200"
  • 156 "Forearm Protectors" brand name or equivalent to "Centurion (FP100)"
  • 147 units of "Hard Shell Shin Guards" brand name or equivalent to "Centurion (TS70)"
  • 147 carry bags brand name or equivalent to Exotech (E4), 147 tactical gloves brand name or equivalent to "Damascus (DMZ333)"
  • 147 riot helmets brand name or equivalent to "MaxPro (TR1000)"

The FPS is anticipating that police or military wearing the gear would encounter "blunt force trauma" to the upper torso, as well as potential beatings with "blunt objects". To compliment these outfits, are required riot helmets with "tactical face shield" equipped with "liquid seals".

In addition, the US military are ready to assist with local law enforcement "if called upon".

Five hundred military police and dogs will be allocated on civilian matters, and have included the reallocation of hundreds of military police officers being trained to "assist local authorities" in investigation, crime scene and case building, as reported by mainstream media (MSM). These same soliders were previously stationed in combat areas like Afghantistan.

Meanwhile, the TSA have been patrolling trains stations and bus terminals in California.

According to one whistleblower:

We're doing patrols in the parking lot with dogs, we're even going as far out to the train station because the train station is connected to the airport here and we have guys walking around the train station, walking around the rental cars, we're inspecting cars coming into the parking garage, I mean we've fully expanded – we're no longer just at the gate and just at the security checkpoint.

The preparations that DHS and FPS are making for civil unrest may be tied to Article 15 of the UN Arms Trade Treaty(ATT). This part allows foreign troops (preferably NATO forces) to offer assistance in implementing the ATT. As the ATT does not specify an adherence to the 2nd Amendment, but rather makes vague definitions of who can own a gun, what type of gun and for what purpose, the Constitutional rights we take for granted now will be stripped from us once the ATT is signed. (It is being reported today that no agreement was reached, and the ATT has been postponed ... for now - Ed.)

To downplay the severity of our American right to bear arms against tyrannical dictators foreign and domestic, President Obama stated at a National Urban League meeting that:

We recognize the traditions of gun ownership that passed on from generation to generation, that hunting and shooting are part of a cherished national heritage. I also believe that a lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals. That they belong on the battlefield of war, not on the streets of our cities.

Richard Schrade, attorney and member of the Libertarian National Committee commented on the 2nd Amendment:

The Second Amendment was to protect the ability of the people to violently overthrow the government. Let's remember that this country was formed in a violent revolution. Let's remember that at Lexington and Concord citizens fired on and killed government soldiers sent by the central government to confiscate their weapons and arms…. When viewed in this light, it is apparent that a limitation on automatic weapons would be an infringement on the purposes of the Second Amendment.

Wayne LaPierre, vice president of the NRA, has called out Obama as being part of a "conspiracy to ensure re-election by lulling gun owners to sleep. All that first term, lip service to gun owners is just part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and hide his true intentions to destroy the Second Amendment during his second term."

LaPierre states that upon re-election, Obama will be "busy dismantling and destroying our firearms freedom, erase the 2nd Amendment from the Bill of Rights and excise it from the US Constitution."

Hell Freezes Over: WH Apologizes to Charles Krauthammer

Hell Freezes Over: WH Apologizes to Charles Krauthammer

by Sard

Dan Pfeiffer

Well, if you haven't heard, the WH recently denied that a bust of Winston Churchill, which was given as a gift by the British government in tribute to the victims of 9/11 during George W. Bush's time in office, was promptly returned by president Barack Hussein Obama when he assumed office (control).

Amazingly, the state-run press (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NPR, etc.) have been trying to claim Mitt Romney mentioning U.K. headlines critical of security preparedness for the London Olympic games is a huge gaffe and a of great offense to the British.

Ironically (or diabolically), it was the Obama Administration that insulted both the British and the American people by his petulant act of returning a gift that was meant in tribute for all of the victims of 9/11.

Recently, Charles Krauthammer took the WH to task regarding this gross hypocrisy. The WH initially denied that the bust had been returned, when, in fact, it had been returned for the aforementioned reasons. This knowledge has been well-reported for several years now.

Miraculously, Krauthammer managed to squeeze a retraction and an apology from Assistant to the President of the United States and the White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer:

Yesterday following his column, I sent the following email to Charles Krauthammer. Charles asked that I make the email public and I have agreed.

Charles,

I take your criticism seriously and you are correct that you are owed an apology. There was clearly an internal confusion about the two busts and there was no intention to deceive. I clearly overshot the runway in my post. The point I was trying to make – under the belief that the Bust in the residence was the one previously in the Oval Office-- was that this oft repeated talking point about the bust being a symbol of President Obama's failure to appreciate the special relationship is false.  The bust that was returned was returned as a matter of course with all the other artwork that had been loaned to President Bush for display in his Oval Office and not something that President Obama or his Administration chose to do. I still think this is an important point and one I wish I had communicated better.

A better understanding of the facts on my part and a couple of deep breaths at the outset would have prevented this situation.  Having said all that, barring a miracle comeback from the Phillies I would like to see the Nats win a world series even if it comes after my apology

Thanks,

Dan Pfeiffer

Kudos, Charles Krauthammer!

House Ethics Committee Finds Rep. Laura Richardson (D) Guilty of 7 Counts of Ethics Violation

Any one sinle ethics violation should be automatic dismissal from the House.  And banned from there forever lobbying including.

House Ethics Committee Finds Rep. Laura Richardson (D) Guilty of 7 Counts of Ethics Violation

by Scotty Starnes

Another member of the Congressional Black Caucus guilty. Why does the CBC contain so many crooks?

From The Hill:

The House Ethics Committee issued a report on Wednesday finding Rep. Laura Richardson (D-Calif.) guilty on seven counts of violating the chamber's rules by improperly pressuring her staff to campaign for her, destroying evidence and tampering with witness testimony.

Richardson agreed to pay a fine of $10,000 within four months and promised to require staffers who work on her campaign to sign a waiver stating that they haven't been pressured to do so.

The verdict comes as Richardson faces one of the toughest member-on-member races this year against fellow Democrat Rep. Janice Hahn (Calif.).

The Ethics committee said it found Richardson guilty of "requiring or compelling her official staff to perform campaign work" and "obstructing the investigation of the committee and the [investigative subcommittee] through the alteration or destruction of evidence."

A Sign for Obama

New post on Fellowship of the Minds

A Sign for Obama

by Dr. Eowyn

Raymond Gaster is the owner of Gaster Lumber and Hardware, a small business in Savannah, Georgia.

This is the sign he put up in front of his store:

And here's his message to America:

"When the prez of the U.S. stands up and says that 'you didn't build that, someone else did,' he insulted every businessman who ever started a business and tried to run a successful business. It's time we stood up and say 'NO, Mr. President, you are wrong. I built this business.' If you have a marque or a sign board you owe it to your country to answer back. This is my answer to Obama."

WTF? House Passes Bill Eliminating Senate Confirmation for Presidential Appointees

New post on Scotty Starnes's Blog

WTF? House Passes Bill Eliminating Senate Confirmation for Presidential Appointees

by Scotty Starnes

What in the hell are Republicans thinking. Did they forget whose in the White House and the radicals he's already appointed? The same guy who constantly usurps congressional power and ignore the checks and balances set up by the Constitution.

From DC:

UPDATEThe House passed the legislation Tuesday night by a vote of 261-116. The bill now goes to President Obama's desk for his signature.

The House of Representatives is set to consider legislation Tuesday that would exempt certain presidential appointees from having to be confirmed by the Senate.

But a number of conservative groups are arguing that the "Presidential Efficiency and Streamlining Act" amounts to Congress neutering itself and giving the executive branch unprecedented power.

Presidential appointees that would no longer require Senate confirmation under the legislation include the treasurer of the United States and the deputy administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.

"The United States Constitution does not bestow kingly powers on the President to appoint the senior officers of the government with no process," wrote Thomas McClusky, the senior vice president for the Family Research Council's legislative arm, in a Monday memo to lawmakers.

Sources told The Daily Caller that there is concern in the ranks among conservatives opposed to the legislation that House leaders will bring the legislation up for a voice vote to avoid putting members on the record.

"I can tell you that there will be members who want this vote on the record," an aide to one conservative member told TheDC. "Whether or not they'll get the chance is still in question."

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's office didn't comment on questions Tuesday from TheDC about the bill.

But the intent of the legislation is to help tackle the backlog of presidential appointees needing congressional confirmation. Critics like McClusky argue this is the result of a larger problem.

"If the Senate wants to streamline the process, it should eliminate some of the administration's positions," McClusky wrote.

The legislation, sponsored by New York Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer, passed the Senate in June 2011, with 20 Republicans voting against it. The Senate bill has 17 co-sponsors, including both Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

McClusky of FRC Action estimated in his memo that "thousands of positions would be filled by the President without any Senate vetting."

The legislation would affect appointments across the executive branch, including to the Defense, Homeland Security and Justice departments.

Referencing the Obama administration, McClusky wrote that, "In an administration that's already circumvented Congress with dozens of controversial 'czars' this would mean even less accountability for the White House."

Gold Medal Winning Olympians Will Pay $9,000 to IRS for Each Medal Won

Gold Medal Winning Olympians Will Pay $9,000 to IRS for Each Medal Won

by Scotty Starnes

Taxing our Olympians who represent our country? Wanna bet it was a tax-cheat liberal who wrote this tax law.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — While 529 hardworking athletes proudly represent the United States in the 2012 Olympics, any medals and money they earn wearing red, white and blue will be taxed by the IRS. According to research done by the Americans for Tax Reform Foundation, U.S. Olympic athletes are liable to pay income tax on medals earned and prizes received at the London games.

American medalists face a top income tax rate of 35 percent. Under U.S. tax law, they must add the value of their Olympic medals and prizes to their taxable income. It is therefore easy to calculate the tax bite on Olympic glory.

At today's commodity prices, the value of a gold medal is about $675.  A silver medal is worth about $385 while a bronze medal is worth under $5.

There are also prizes that accompany each medal:  $25,000 for gold, $15,000 for silver, and $10,000 for bronze.

So how much will U.S. Olympic medal winners have to pay in taxes to the IRS?

Medal Tax Prize Tax Total Tax Burden
Gold $236 $8,750 $8,986
Silver $135 $5,250 $5,385
Bronze $2 $3,500 $3,50
