Re: Newt Gingrich has gone bezerk

Actually, arresting a few judges as long as the same applied to
politicians, would not be a bad idea.

Re: Newt Gingrich will pardon jewish spy and traitor Jonathan Pollard

For example... the whole WikiLeaks thing was bullshit. There were lots
of embarrassing documents released but not a single one, after all
this time, has been proven to jeopardize security in any way.

Iowa Governor: Ignore Ron Paul Caucus Win

December20th
Iowa Governor: Ignore Ron Paul Caucus Win
Tom Woods

And these are the people who want to "spread democracy" around the world.

"People are going to look at who comes in second and who comes in third," Governor Terry Branstad told Politico. "If [Mitt] Romney comes in a strong second, it definitely helps him going into New Hampshire and the other states."

Has Ron Paul broken any rules? Has he cheated? No one even pretends he has. Yet his victory, which the Establishment now seems to expect, is still suspect.

How dare he not want to stampede the country into another war promoted by the same propagandists who gave us the Iraq fiasco!

How dare he think prison rape might not be the most humane solution for someone struggling with drugs! (And of course, if these people cared about the Constitution as much as they pretend to, they would agree with Ron Paul that drugs aren't a federal issue in the first place.)

How dare he dissent from the (Republican and Democratic) Establishment, which has wrecked the economy, saddled us with unpayable debt, and given us a fiasco of a foreign policy that has made Americans more hated and isolated than ever before!

Note what they don't say. They don't say a Romney win would hurt the caucuses, even though Romney said "my views are progressive" just five years before running for president the first time. I won't bother listing all of Romney's offenses.

As for Ron Paul being to the "left" of Obama on foreign policy, this is a total misconception. See the foreign-policy resources on this page (below the section on war powers) for an elaboration.

So here's the message: the candidate the elites least want you to vote for is Ron Paul. The newspapers, the cable news people, the politicos. They are dying for you to support Romney, Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann anyone but Paul. That is another great reason to support him

Re: Newt Gingrich will pardon jewish spy and traitor Jonathan Pollard

To address the core subject... SECRETS.... There are far too many that
have to do with "embarrassment" rather than "security". I believe that
a group of lay people should be allowed to decide what is and is not
in the "interest" of national security.

Re: “If any country refuses to allow the spread of Islam within its borders, we will wage jihad on that country.”

My comment would be that Scientology was refused status as a
"religion" due to its' all encompassing "way of life" "intrusion on
life" doctrines. Since then the IRS has recognized them. However many
countries in the world do not because it is as much an "ideology" as a
"religion" In what way is Islam any different?? Isn't it an all
encompassing ideology?

Re: Newt Gingrich will pardon jewish spy and traitor Jonathan Pollard

No way Newt Gingrich, or any sitting or future American President ever gives Pollard, or any other Israeli a pardon, clemency, or release from imprisonment,  unless the individual is on his or her death bed.  The outcry from the American people would be overwhelming.

I suspect that this is nothing more than campaign rhetoric,  in order to muster Jewish support.

Judge Aubrey Robinson, Jr., imposed a life sentence after hearing a

Pollard was a US citizen, born on US soil, but his greed and loyalty
to Israel was more important than his American citizenship. He should
have been executed or continuously tortured for information.

Israel granted Pollard citizenship in 1995, but publicly denied that
he was an Israeli spy until 1998. Israeli activist groups, as well as
high-profile Israeli politicians, have lobbied for his release. His
case was later linked to that of Ben-ami Kadish, another U.S. national
who pleaded guilty to charges of passing classified information to
Israel. He renounced his United States citizenship and is now solely
an Israeli citizen. He will be deported to Israel in the event that he
is released from prison.

Pollard's espionage was discovered in 1985 when a co-worker
anonymously reported his removal of classified material from the NIS.
The FBI again became involved. A short time later Pollard's neighbor
began calling around the military intelligence community (he was a
naval officer) asking what to do with the 70 lb suitcase full of
highly classified material that Pollard's wife, Anne, had given him.
Prior to sentencing, Pollard and his wife Anne gave media interviews
in which they defended their spying and attempted to rally Jewish
Americans to their cause. In a 60 Minutes interview, Anne said, "I
feel my husband and I did what we were expected to do, and what our
moral obligation was as Jews. Aviem Sella, Pollard's initial Israeli
contact, was eventually indicted on three counts of espionage by an
American court.[35] Israel refused to allow him to be interviewed
unless he was granted immunity. America refused because of Israel's
previous failure to cooperate as promised. Israel then refused to
extradite Sella, instead giving him command of a prestigious air force
base. The U.S. Congress responded by threatening to cut aid to Israel,
at which point Sella stepped down.

know the enemy:
When asked to return the stolen material, the Israelis reportedly only
turned over a few dozen low-classified documents. At the time, the
Americans knew that Pollard had passed tens of thousands of documents.
When American investigators traveled to Israel they were treated with
hostility from the moment they arrived in Israel to the moment they
left. The Israelis created a schedule designed to wear them down,
including many hours per day of commuting in blacked out buses on
rough roads, and frequent switching of buses leaving them without
adequate time to sleep and preventing them from sleeping on the
commute. The identity of Pollard's original handler, Sella, was
withheld. All questions had to be translated into Hebrew and answered
in Hebrew, and then translated back into English, even though all the
parties spoke perfect English. The Commander Jerry Agee remembers
that, even as he departed the airport, airport security made a point
of informing him that "you will never be coming back here again"; Agee
found various items had been stolen from his luggage, upon his return
to the United States. The abuse came not only from the guards and
officials, but also the Israeli media.

The New York Times reported on 21 September 2010 that Netanyahu
proposed that Pollard be released as a reward to Israel for extending
by three months a halt to new settlements in occupied territories.

In 2010 representatives Barney Frank (D-Mass.), Edolphus Towns (D-
N.Y.), Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) and Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) wrote a
letter which "notes the positive impact that a grant of clemency would
have in Israel, as a strong indication of the goodwill of our nation
towards Israel and the Israeli people", On November 18, 2010, 39
members of Congress submitted a Plea Of Clemency to the White House on
behalf of Pollard, asking the president for his immediate release:
"Such an exercise of the clemency power would not in any way imply
doubt about his guilt, nor cast any aspersions on the process by which
he was convicted.

Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State, wrote in a letter to
Barack Obama, "I believe justice would be served by commuting."

Lawrence Korb, former assistant secretary of defense under Ronald
Reagan, has called on the Obama Administration to grant clemency to
Polard:

In September 2011, when asked by a group of rabbis whether the Obama
administration was considering the release of Pollard, Vice President
Joe Biden responded, "President Obama was considering clemency, but I
told him, 'Over my dead body are we going to let him out before his
time. If it were up to me, he would stay in jail for life.'

Re: “If any country refuses to allow the spread of Islam within its borders, we will wage jihad on that country.”

"If any country refuses to allow the spread of Islam within its
borders, we will wage jihad on that country."
----
don't be afraid ... just words from another abrahamic myth believer

The Qur'an says, "Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who
follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,-
any who believe in Allah (God) and the Last Day, and work
righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall
be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (Qur'an, 2:62)

islam, the fastest growing religion in the world, is here to stay ...
and protected by our constitution

When Mohammed established the first Islamic state in Medina, he
regarded the Jews as allies, and concluded a treaty with them. Only
when they violated the treaty and sided with the Muslims' enemies did
the Prophet change his policy toward them.

First, let's look at where these statements come from. These are
common stereotypes about Islam. People who don't understand the
religion like to toss around the accusation that the Qur'an teaches
violence and anti-semitism. Unfortunately, a lot of people who buy
into these misconceptions have distinctly Islamophobic agendas that
preclude them from having any positive views of Islam.

Islam is a fourteen-hundred years old way of life. One simply can't
take the scripture of Islam, which is the Qur'an (also spelled Koran),
and make sweeping generalizations about the religion, particularly
when one lacks the qualifications to interpret the Qur'an.

The Qur'an makes reference to different groups of non-Muslims. First,
the Qur'an recognizes the natural diversity of humanity, "O mankind!
We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made
you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye
may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight
of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full
knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)." (Qu'ran, 49:13)

There is also the recognition that human beings are religiously and
ethnically diverse, "For, had God so willed, He could surely have made
you all one single community; however, He lets go astray him that
wills [to go astray], and guides aright him that wills [to be guided];
and you will surely be called to account for all that you ever
did!" (Qur'an, 16:93)

What then does the Qur'an say about "infidels?" First, what does the
term infidel mean? It is not a Qur'anic term. It is a term that
Christians have historically applied to non-Christians, particularly
Muslims. Christian doctrine simply did not recognize the legitimacy of
Islam. Hence, Muslims were "infidels," and usually placed in the same
category as "pagans" and "savages."

The Qur'an speaks of "kuffar," or those who disbelieve, or cover up
the truth, or deny the truth of God and His messengers. However, it is
incorrect to translate "kafir" as infidel. The Qur'an also does not
label all non-Muslims as kuffar, or unbelievers.

The Qur'an talks about a group of non-Muslims called "Ahl al-Kitab,"
or People of Scripture. These are people who have received divine
revelation, particularly Christians and Jews. Therefore, the Qur'an
automatically recognizes previous Abrahamic faiths and accords special
status to the adherents of Christianity and Judaism. What is ironic is
that Christian and Jewish doctrine makes no provision for the
recognition of Islam; however, Islam recognizes both Christianity and
Judaism as divinely-revealed religions.

Re: Newt Gingrich will pardon jewish spy/traitor Jonathan Pollard

Newt, the zionist, will pardon him if he's elected.

Gingrich is at the forefront of fuelling mistrust and hatred of
Muslims. The former Speaker of the House is working against American
unity by bringing divisive Islamophobic rhetoric into mainstream
discourse.
"He's inflamed tensions in the Middle East where the neutrality and
integrity of the United States already is viewed with suspicion and
hostility."
The Constitution founded the United States as a pluralistic society;
the First Amendment grants the free expression of religion. Yet
Gingrich behaves as if allowing Muslims that right would lead to the
loss of American values and liberty.

Other credible reports - "The Great Isamophobic Crusade", by Max
Blumenthal and "The Roots of the Islamophobic Network in America", by
the Centre for American Progress - have exposed the link between
Islamophobia and the pro-Israel entities behind it. Millions of
dollars are funnelled into organisations bent on helping Israel
maintain its occupation of Palestine.

One way they accomplish this is by smearing anyone trying to raise
awareness about Israel's continued violations of international law.
Another way is to demonise Islam in the United States by planting
outrageous and false innuendos of a "stealth jihad" here. Or they
insinuate that there is a connection between American Muslims and
overseas groups on the State Department's list of designated foreign
terrorist organisations. These fallacies are then taken up and
trumpeted about by unprincipled people like Gingrich.

Gingrich seems to have no qualms allying himself to pro-Israel element
and selling the values and safety of the US for his shot in the Oval
Office. But based upon published reports, he's failed to impress the
pro-Israel Jewish voters he was trying to court. Instead, he's
inflamed tensions in the Middle East where the neutrality and
integrity of the US already is viewed with suspicion and in some cases
hostility, and he's proven he does not care about the people who, if
he were elected president, he'd be sworn to protect.

In trying to "out-Romney" Romney, Gingrich may have passed Israel's
litmus test, but he hopelessly failed to show his loyalty to the US or
the American people.

Re: Thought for the Day

Fortunately, this isn't the case
----
The National Defense Authorization Act regularly comes before Congress
for changes and additions, but the latest provision, S. 1867, proves
to be the most powerful one yet in raping constitutional freedoms from
Americans. Move over, Patriot Act. Should S. 1867 pass, lawmakers
could conjure the text to keep even regular citizens detained
indefinitely by their own military.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a supporter of the bill, has explicitly
stated that the passing of S. 1867 would "basically say in law for the
first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield" and could
lead to the detention of citizens without charge or trial.

"I have a personal belief that you never have to give up liberty for
security. You can still provide security without sacrificing our Bill
of Rights," responded Rep. Paul. "You can prevent crimes by becoming a
police state . . . So if you advocate the police state, yes, you can
have safety and security and you might prevent a crime, but the crime
then will be against the American people and against our freedoms."

The text itself was drafted in secrecy in a closed-door meeting by US
Sen. Carl Levin, D-Michigan, and Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, two of
the biggest names in Washington. No hearing was held to discuss the
details and it was passed in a closed-door committee meeting.

Newt Gingrich will pardon jewish spy and traitor Jonathan Pollard

Former Speaker-of-the-House and Republican presidential hopeful Newt
Gingrich said Thursday that he was 'leaning towards clemency' for
convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard.
While in office in the 1990s, Gingrich, who is currently ahead in the
polls over the five other GOP candidates, spoke adamantly against any
such pardon.

Judge Aubrey Robinson, Jr., imposed a life sentence after hearing a
"damage-assessment memorandum" from the Secretary of Defense.
Pollard was a US citizen, born on US soil, but his greed and loyalty
to Israel was more important than his American citizenship. He should
have been executed or continuously tortured for information.

Israel granted Pollard citizenship in 1995, but publicly denied that

Man for All Seasons

"Of course, we find him completely repulsive, who wouldn't? But we believe he's the man of the hour. History needs him, to carry on the work of Bush and Obama, hustling the great nation on its way to Hell."

Man for All Seasons
By Bill Bonner

12/16/11 Baltimore, Maryland – The Daily Reckoning has no voice in the US presidential elections. But we will nevertheless declare a preference. Were he to toss his hat in the ring, we would line up behind former Senator Jon Corzine. The ex-Goldman chief has the experience that America needs. He has been a front-runner in politics…and in the world of finance, what he doesn't know about front running is probably not worth knowing. Presuming, however, that Corzine will be too busy fending off lawsuits or jail sentences, our next choice is Republican Newt Gingrich. Of course, we find him completely repulsive, who wouldn't? But we believe he's the man of the hour. History needs him, to carry on the work of Bush and Obama, hustling the great nation on its way to Hell.

It is rare for a decent man to seek public office. He is ashamed of pandering. He is embarrassed by the stupidity of his own slogans. He is appalled by the low-lifes and quasi criminals with whom he must associate and from whom he must beg support.

They are all swarming around Newt Gingrich now. The handlers, pollsters, word polishers, idea chiselers, fund raisers, donors, hangers on, groupies, roadies -- carpet-bagging rascals every one of them. Now they've got the scent in their nostrils. Their chests heave. The hearts pump. If they can just keep their man Newt from blowing himself up they'll be in high cotton for at least 4 years. One will head a commission or a cushy seat at the UN. Another will get a contract to provide the pentagon with new ID badges. Another will ride into a remote Congressional seat on Newt's coattails. Power. Money. If Newt wins, they win. Newt's women will think themselves smarter and prettier. The men among them will feel their most private part growing bigger.

American presidential candidates generally fall into three categories. Those who are obviously incompetent. Those who are scalawags. And those who are jackasses. The job of the voters is to choose the defect most suited to the time.

Winston Churchill was a disaster as First Lord of the Admiralty during WWI; the Gallipoli campaign was his doing. Then, on how to deal with the Iraqi insurgents, circa 1920, he offered this advice: Use chemical weapons "against recalcitrant Arabs as an experiment," he suggested, adding, "I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes to spread a lively terror." Later, as Chancellor of the Exchequer, he put Britain back on the gold standard, but at a level that was bound to cause trouble. It came, in 1929.

He may have been incompetent. He may have been a big-mouth imperialist. But Churchill was the man Britain needed in 1940.

When times are good, the public generally prefers a scalawag. Clinton was the perfect president for the '90s boom years. Warren Harding would have been a great fit with the boom of the '20s. He drank. He played cards. He snuck out of the White House to go to girlie shows. Otherwise, he left people alone. But he was a little early. Most of the "Roaring Twenties" boom happened during the Coolidge administration. On the surface, Coolidge was a mismatch. Straitlaced. A bit of a scold. But he minded his own business and -- like Clinton during the dotcom bubble or Bush during the property bubble -- he let speculators ruin themselves without raising an objection.

The trouble with Herbert Hoover was that he was too much of a nuts and bolts engineer. The public turned him out. They preferred Roosevelt's confident malarkey. They wanted a man with a plan. No matter that the plan was claptrap. They'd never figure that out.

That's the problem with Obama. He has no plan. He doesn't know what is going on, or what to do about it. Which at least marks him as more intelligent than most of his challengers, who have the wrong idea on both counts. But neither brains nor competence is what the public wants now. In an emergency it wants Churchill, not Chamberlain. A Roosevelt, not a Hoover. It wants a bold liar. A hearty delusional.

Gingrich is their man. A letter in The Financial Times compared him to Churchill. He compares himself to de Gaulle. Both are correct, in our view. He is as humble as de Gaulle and at least as competent as Churchill. He is a cad who reportedly told his second wife that she was too old and too ugly to be a president's wife. He is a scoundrel who took $1.8 million from zombie mortgage lender, Freddie Mac. He makes angels weep; the gods get their backs up. So cometh Newt Gingrich to the Republican race. If you're dumb enough, you think he's smart. If you're corrupt enough, you think he is honest. If you compare him to the field of candidates, he doesn't seem any more asinine than the rest.

He is incompetent, scalawag and jackass all in one package. A man for all seasons. Most importantly, he is committed to keeping America on course to its own destruction. The US already runs the biggest deficits in the developed world. Gingrich would add to them -- by about $850 billion, according to one estimate. He hopes Reagan-era growth will eventually balance the books. He also thinks an Electro-Magnetic Pulse is one of the biggest dangers America faces. And he believes in American exceptionalism -- as if the nation can dodge fate with some special math that applies to it alone. But if you begin asking questions about Newt's pensee you are missing the point. America's empire is decadent and degenerate. It needs a man like Newt to help it on its way… to where all exceptional empires end up on the scrap heap of history.

Re: Thought for the Day

Then these Americans should be charged with treason, and tried in a court of law.  The idea that Americans (in America)  could be picked up and tried without due process of law is shocking on its face.

Fortunately, this isn't the case, and just another example of "Crackpotism/Moonbattery".

Newt Gingrich will pardon jewish spy/traitor Jonathan Pollard

Former Speaker-of-the-House and Republican presidential hopeful Newt
Gingrich said Thursday that he was 'leaning towards clemency' for
convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard.

While in office in the 1990s, Gingrich, who is currently ahead in the

Newt Gingrich has gone bezerk

William Hamby
, Atlanta Atheism Examiner
December 19, 2011

The Republican hyper-emphasis on "Christian Values" recently took a
sharp turn and landed squarely on fascist police state. Leading
Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich promised reporters in
as many words that if elected, he would arrest judges who didn't abide
by Christian ideals.

In a half-hour phone call with reporters yesterday, GOP presidential
contender Newt Gingrich warned that as president he would abolish
courts whose judges make decisions that are out of step with
fundamentalist Christian views.

Despite an outcry over the remarks, Gingrich reiterated them this
morning during an appearance on CBS's "Face the Nation," saying the
president could send federal law enforcement authorities to arrest
judges who make controversial rulings in order to compel them to
justify their decisions before Congress.

When host Bob Schieffer asked how he would force federal judges to
comply with congressional subpoenas, Gingrich said he would send the
U.S. Capitol Police or U.S. Marshals to arrest the judges and force
them to testify. (LINK)

What can we say about this? Is there anything a candidate could say
that would disqualify him from office any more concretely? He has
personally vowed to ignore the constitution and to enforce his own
religious views as the law of the land.

In no uncertain terms, Gingrich has made it clear that his respect for
the American government extends only as far as his loyalty to Jesus.
The presidential oath is clear: I, <name>, do solemnly swear (or
affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the
United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect
and defend the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution
explicitly states that there shall be no religious test for public
office -- including judge.

Just to make sure we're clear on this: The leading Republican
candidate for the president of the United States has stated loudly and
clearly, on the record, that as president, he would completely ignore
the U.S. Constitution in favor of his own religious views.

The Republican Party has gone off the rails. As the extreme nature of
their position has been consistently exposed through social media like
Facebook and Reddit, they have become increasingly frenzied in their
efforts to become "more Christian." To appeal to the increasingly
hostile Fundamentalist constituency that was instrumental in winning
the House of Representatives, they've held openly religious meetings
in the heart of Iowa, where each candidate tried to "out-Christian"
the others on topics like abortion rights. (LINK)

This is also not the first time that a highly influential Christian
politician has trampled on the Constitution publicly. Supreme Court
Justice Antonin Scalia recently proclaimed his own disdain for the
rule of law:

"The Rule of Law is second only to the Rule of Love. The here and
now is less important than the hereafter." -- Antonin Scalia, Supreme
Court Justice. (LINK)

The sanctity of the U.S. government is in perhaps the most peril in
our history. Without exaggerating, one can begin by pointing to the
2004 "irregularities" in voting machines, and the subsequent
appointment of a Republican Christian candidate to the presidency...
by the Supreme Court. With the taking of the House in the last
Congressional elections, the Republican party has embarked on a take-
no-prisoners campaign to legislate Christian values -- discrimination
against gays, ending women's rights, and inexplicably, not helping the
poor at all.

In this election, Christianity has been almost the exclusive focus of
all the major candidates, whose opinions on abortion are far more
relevant to voters than their economic records, or their success in
previous political endeavors. Beginning with the reality show farce
that was Sarah Palin, the GOP has trotted out one evangelical after
another, and done nothing to quell the rising tide of ecumenical
screeching from the political pulpit. With one openly anti-
Constitutional judge already sitting, and the House controlled by
zealots, one can only imagine how quickly America would descend into
Iran-like theocracy with a president whose campaign promises included
nothing less than ignoring the Constitution in favor of religious
legislation at all levels of justice!

Let's make sure we understand the gravity of this: On the record,
with no apologies, the leading Republican presidential candidate has
vowed to ignore the constitution in favor of his religious beliefs in
the courts that decide our laws. Newt Gingrich has vowed to break the
presidential oath. Newt Gingrich has, without question, disqualified
himself from the office. He is an aspiring traitor. He is anti-
American. He has voiced his intention to destroy everything that
America was founded on. In as many words, he would go on the
offensive against the "steady encroachment of secularism through the
courts to redefine America as a nonreligious country." (LINK)

This statement goes beyond "zany" or volatile. This goes straight to
treasonous. Let's make sure we understand: no religious test shall
ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust
under the United States. Article VI, paragraph 3, United States
Constitution. (LINK) There is no reasonable way to interpret
Gingrich's statement except as a religious qualifier for judgeship in
the United States. That is blatantly and irreconcilably
unconstitutional.

Nothing short of withdrawal from the race is suitable. Gingrich has
disqualified himself, and has no business running for any public
office until and unless he demonstrates a thorough understanding of
the separation of church and state, and a consistent record of
supporting that wall.

Just like Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, and sooner or later, Syria, Jordan, and Yemen, the U.S. is looking at Iranian-style fundamentalist Islamic governments all  over the Middle East. But the real threat to America's interests and security is a lot closer to home. In fact, it's already here. Jordan's Tahrir Party leader, Sheik Admand Abu Quddum [...]
