In the middle of the night on March 5, 1770, British troops fired on unarmed colonists in Boston, what became known as the Boston Massacre. News spread of this slaughter via horseback. Colonists were outraged. This "mistake" fueled growing anger that triggered the revolutionary war.

Now we have a political party, ready to nominate a candidate who claims he is a church-man, whose henchmen trample American democracy by excluding nomination of a candidate at the Republican Party meeting in Florida by a last-minute rule change. News is spreading of this far and wide, just as word of the Boston Massacre. Is this the mistake that will trigger a voter revolution?

What is Ron Paul thinking? Will he now, with the outrage of the American people building, decide to announce to run for President as a 3rd Party candidate when he appears on the Jay Leno show Tuesday night? What happens if Americans swell to the voting booths and vote Ron Paul regardless of his own wishes? Polls indicate Americans want neither of the candidates posed by the elephants and donkeys. Either don't vote and give them a false mandate, or write-in the censored, ignored and undeservedly belittled Ron Paul. Let this action go unopposed and you can kiss this democracy good-bye.

This is third-world voter fraud. The hope of the world is America, or was America. The hope of freedom and democracy has been dashed. If you have no call from on high to stand up for what America should stand for, then get out of the way.

Americans, now is your hour.

The RNC even forbid Rand Paul from even mentioning his father's name from the podium. Stand up now against corruption!

You get a lot of flaky e-mails saying pass this on or you will suffer the consequences if you don't. Well, you and your family will certainly suffer the consequences when our freedoms have been erased. The freedom to vote and elect.

Now America, now!

No Confidence in Romney and No Confidence in Obama – President Ron Paul?

Americans have no confidence in Romney and no confidence in Obama explain political analysts. The no confidence is because of Romney and Obama's corruption and poor records. More Americans are still calling for President Ron Paul instead.

With the no confidence in Romney and Obama, the growing President Ron Paul movement is calling the GOP to nominate Ron Paul because of cheating and corruption of Romney and RNC.

The second most electable favorite of Christians is Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party.

"Both Ron Paul and Virgil Goode are Christians. They will give Freedom to Americans, cut the deficit, honor our Founding Fathers and obey the Constitution. However, Romney and Obama are non-Christians and would do the opposite," said an Independent voter.

his foreign policy isn't pro-israel enough and because he doesn't

in short, he's too pro-America.

Government Motors Opened Plant in China Four Months after Closing Plant in Wisconsin

by Scotty Starnes

Obama: Outsourcing Americans jobs since January 2009.

From WFB:

A bailed out General Motors expanded its small truck and SUV manufacturing in China soon after closing down similar facilities in Janesville, Wisconsin—the plant Barack Obama pledged to save and keep open for "another hundred years" in 2008.

GM has increased its manufacturing capacity in China by 55 percent since emerging from bankruptcy thanks to a $50 billion bailout from taxpayers. An important piece of that increased capacity has taken place in Changchun, Jilin Province in China.

On August 30, 2009, GM entered into a "50-50 joint venture" with China FAW Group Corp., one of China's largest automakers. GM's cash influx helped boost FAW's efforts to expand its light duty commercial vehicles and SUV manufacturing. The partnership sold more than 88,000 vehicles in 2010.

The move came four months after GM shuttered its Janesville plant, which built SUVs like the Chevrolet Suburban. The closure has become a matter of controversy on the campaign trail after Janesville congressman and Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan noted the Obama administration failed to save the plant despite promising to do so on the campaign trail.

Obama stopped by the Janesville plant in February 2008 while campaigning for president and pledged to save the jobs of more than 2,000 employees.

"If our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition…this plant will be here for another hundred years," he said.

In October 2008, Obama reiterated his claims that he would save the GM plant: "As president, I will lead an effort to retool plants like the GM facility in Janesville so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs in Wisconsin and all across America."

Clinton vs. Obama

Clinton vs. Obama
David Boaz • September 4, 2012 @ 11:06 am

Over the weekend I stumbled upon C-SPAN's broadcast of Bill Clinton's 1992 speech accepting the Democratic nomination for president, and I remembered how he seemed like a "different kind of Democrat" at the time. As I started watching, I heard Clinton saying:
The most important family policy, urban policy, labor policy, minority policy, and foreign policy America can have is an expanding entrepreneurial economy of high-wage, high-skilled jobs …
Soviet communism has collapsed and our valuesfreedom, democracy, individual rights, free enterprisethey have triumphed all around the world.
And then he got into the meat of the "new Democrat" message:
To turn our rhetoric into reality we've got to change the way government does business, fundamentally. Until we do, we'll continue to pour billions of dollars down the drain.
The Republicans have campaigned against big government for a generation, but have you noticed? They've run this big government for a generation and they haven't changed a thing. They don't want to fix government; they still want to campaign against it, and that's all.
But, my fellow Democrats, its time for us to realize we've got some changing to do too. There is not a program in government for every problem, and if we want to use government to help people, we have got to make it work again….
Now, I don't have all the answers, but I do know the old ways don't work. Trickledown economics has sure failed. And big bureaucracies, both private and public, they've failed too.
That's why we need a new approach to government, a government that offers more empowerment and less entitlement. More choices for young people in the schools they attend- in the public schools they attend. And more choices for the elderly and for people with disabilities and the long-term care they receive. A government that is leaner, not meaner; a government that expands opportunity, not bureaucracy; a government that understands that jobs must come from growth in a vibrant and vital system of free enterprise.

He made his famous promise to "end welfare as we know it."

That's not President Obama's style. He's not that kind of Democrat. He doesn't talk about free enterprise as an American value, not even when

speaking of freedom to students in China.

Search for "free enterprise" on the White House website, and the first hit is to his famous "You didn't build that" speech in Roanokewhich doesn't include the word "enterprise," or the word "free." He doesn't say that big bureaucracies have failed, or that we need more choice in education and health care.

Which presumably means Bill Clinton will have to write a different speech when he nominates President Obama for reelection on Wednesday night.

Now don't get me wrong. There was plenty of old-fashioned Democratic liberalism in Clinton's 1992 speech. He talked about "what all of us must give to our Nation," which fits well with Obama's view. He denounced outsourcing, he proclaimed that "health care is a right," he promised billions in new federal spending and lots of programs.

He even deplored polarization and "the stereotypes that blind us," reminding us that today's complaints about polarization are nothing new. And I was struck by the way he delivered that complaint. He said that "for too long politicians have told the most of us that are doing all right that what's really wrong with America is the rest of usthem." And he elaborated:
Them, the minorities. Them, the liberals. Them, the poor. Them, the homeless. Them, the people with disabilities. Them, the gays.
All good points. Too much stereotyping. Too much polarization. Too much partisanship. Except that his list of stereotypes was very partisan. What about "Them, the conservatives"? "Them, the rich"? Aren't those polarizing stereotypes too? You'd think a different kind of Democrat would have deplored all the stereotypes that politicians use to divide people.

David Maraniss writes in today's Washington Post that "on most of the big issues, there is little or no space between [Clinton and Obama] as pragmatic liberals." Maybe so, but in his campaignand in his response to a midterm electoral rebukeClinton certainly gave voters the impression that he was a "different kind of Democrat," one who appreciated the limits of government and the virtues of free enterprise. This week he'll presumably have to give a full-throated defense of a president who never said that the era of big government is over, who increased the food stamp rolls by 14 million after Clinton reduced them by 11 million, who increased the national debt by $5 trillion compared to $1.6 trillion in the Clinton years. No doubt he'll do a great job.

The Montpelier Manifesto

The Montpelier Manifesto
by Thomas H. Naylor, Kirkpatrick Sale, James Starkey, and Charles Keil

To be presented at the Third Statewide Convention on Vermont Self-Determination on September 14, 2012 to be held in the Vermont State House in Montpelier.

Petition of Grievances

We, citizens of this American land, haunted by the nihilism of separation, meaninglessness, and powerlessness, subsumed by political elites who use corporate, state, and military power to manipulate our lives, pawns of a global system of dominance and deceit in which transnational megacompanies and big government control us through money, markets, and media, sapping our political will, civil liberties, collective memory, traditional cultures, sustainability, and independence, and as victims of affluenza, technomania, cybermania, globalism, and imperialism, do issue and proclaim this:

Document of Grievances and Abuses

Governance
  • A government too big, too centralized, too undemocratic, too unjust, too powerful, too intrusive, and too unresponsive to the needs of individual citizens and small communities.
  • One that is too big and corrupt to be fixed or reformed, certainly not by such fantasies as campaign finance reform or corporate-personhood amendments.
  • One that has lost its moral authority, is corrupt to the core, and is owned, operated and controlled by Wall Street, Corporate America, and their political lackeys.
  • One run by a single brain-dead national political party on life-support systems, sustained by national and Congressional elections that are sold to the highest bidder, disguised as a genuine two-party system.
  • One that relies on and fosters the illusion that only the U.S. government can solve all or our problems all of the time, in the face of the fact that it is the U.S. government that is the problem.

Economy
  • A collapsing economy, with a moribund housing market and a staggering number of mortgage foreclosures, and high unemployment because of jobs lost to China, India, and elsewhere over the past three decades of globalism.
  • Stagnant real incomes for all but the super-rich, resulting in an ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor and an increasing rate of poverty, homelessness, and inadequate insurance.
  • A $15-plus trillion national debt and unfunded mandate obligations of $43 trillion, a staggering burden only added to by stimulus spending, tax cuts, and "quantitative easing" (printing money), none of which is restoring economic growth but does make us increasingly and dangerously dependent on China, Japan, and other foreign countries buying our treasury bonds.
  • A central bank which has, by monetizing the growing national debt and providing cheap credit to bail out banks, increased the money supply to the point where the future value of the dollar and the rate of inflation are highly uncertain.
  • A financial system based on "tricks and traps" rather than customer service and a financial regulatory system which favors predatory and ruthless Wall Street mega-banks at the expense of ordinary citizens.
  • An economic system absolutely dependent for survival on consumption and affluenza (the illusion that the accumulation of more stuff, provided by big-box stores fostered by government globalization policies, can provide meaning to life), despite the knowledge that unrestrained growth in a world of finite resources is unsustainable and unworthy of pursuit.
  • Public and private sector labor unions which have been under open attack by the government since the Reagan administration, by hostile anti-union private employers such as Wal-Mart, and more recently by some Republican governors.
  • Corporate-owned, government-subsidized agriculture with its use of toxic pesticides and fertilizers, anti-biotics, genetically-engineered seeds, systematic animal cruelty, and virtual absence of food safety regulations creating a menace to public health, the environment, and small farmers.

Foreign Policy
  • An immoral, often clandestine and illegal, imperial system based on full-spectrum dominance, military overstretch, might-makes-right, and the proposition that the world wants to be just like us, leading us to provide support to dictators and authoritarian regimes in the Middle East, North Africa, and elsewhere in the world.
  • A dependence on military might, based on a multi-trillion dollar budget, 1.6 million American troops stationed at over 1,000 bases in 153 countries (including 80,000 in Europe, 36,000 in Japan, and 30,000 in Korea), Special Operations strike forces (Seals, Delta Forces, Rangers, Green Berets) deployed in 120 countries, and a proliferation of pilotless drone aircraft worldwide for reconnaissance and stealth attacks, sometimes killing civilians, including Americans.
  • Immoral, illegal, undeclared wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, and (via Israel) Palestine, the threat of war with Iran based on our deliberate acts of provocation, and the endless "war" on terror largely aimed with racial overtones at Muslims.
  • The hammerlock hold of the Israeli Lobby over American foreign policy that forces us to support an Israeli-inspired war on terror against Muslims and keeps us from any real commitment to an Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
  • The Cuban embargo.

Civil Liberties
  • The highly intrusive, inept, ever-growing, money-guzzling Department of Homeland Security, together with other intelligence agencies, using the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, the Detainee Security Provision of the National Defense Administration Act of 2011, and other covers for citizen surveillance and suppression of civil liberties.
  • The disgraceful (and expensive and useless) Guantanamo Prison, prisoner abuse and torture, and the illegal rendition of terrorist suspects.
  • A president who can order the assassination of anyone, anywhere, anytime (including U.S. citizens) whose name happens to appear on the White House "kill list."

Criminal Justice
  • Six million people under "correctional supervision" (more than were in the Gulag Archipelago under Stalin), including more black men than were in slavery in 1860 and 50,000 men in solitary confinement in "supermax" prisons.
  • A failed international war on drugs that costs billions, ruins more lives than it saves, has spawned corruption and violence, an entrenched bureaucracy, and which has had no impact on drug use in the United States.

Social Services
  • The most expensive health care system in the world, driven by fear of death on the demand side and greed on the supply side, that ranks 37th in the world according to the World Health Organization, now tied to Obamacare, which remains fatally attached to a private health care system that is in a death-spiral of rising costs and declining health outcomes.
  • An education system dominated by the Federal government, committed to a one-size-fits-all corporate model, to the dumbing-down of America, and to a race to the bottom, which is why it ranks 18th in the industrial world, according to the OECD.
  • A higher education system that is becoming so expensive that only the rich will be able to attend college; all others look forward to debt slavery.
  • A social-welfare net that, despite being enormously expensive, is woefully inadequate to those it serves and has proven incapable of serious reform.

Infrastructure
  • A widespread aging and collapsing infrastructure, including highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, dams, levees, and public water systems, now costing America $129 billion a year, according to the American Society of Civil Engineers, and will take an expenditure of $206 billion a year for the next 20 years to fix, sums which are simply unavailable.
  • Transportation crises, including the obsolete and inadequate air-traffic-control systems and railroad passenger train systems, and a Federal highway system now 60 years old falling into disrepair across the country.

Redress of Grievances

"Whenever any form of government becomes destructive… it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government… as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness," says the Declaration of Independence. Alteration and abolishment include the right to disband, or subdivide, or withdraw, or create a new government.

Let us therefore consider ways peaceably to withdraw from the American Empire by (1) regaining control of our lives from big government, big business, big cities, big schools, and big computer networks; (2) relearning how to take care of ourselves by decentralizing, downsizing, localizing, demilitarizing, simplifying, and humanizing our lives; and (3) providing democratic and human-scale self-government at those local and regional levels most likely to effect our safety and happiness.

Citizens, lend your name to this manifesto and join in the honorable task of rejecting the immoral, corrupt, decaying, dying, failing American Empire and seeking its rapid and peaceful dissolution before it takes us all down with it.

RNC Mistake – Could It Bring a Ron Paul Presidency?

RNC Mistake – Could It Bring a Ron Paul Presidency?
by Bill Sardi

GOP Convention Recap; What Will Ron Paul Say on Leno Show?

GOP Convention Recap; What Will Ron Paul Say on Leno Show?
Written by  Joe Wolverton, II

In the wake of his " rude" treatment at the Republican National Convention last week in Tampa, several Internet sites are repeating rumors that Ron Paul (R-Texas) will announce a third-party run for the White House.

Adding fuel to this fire is Dr. Paul's scheduled appearance Tuesday night on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. A representative from the Tonight Show told The New American that it was not their policy to predict or publicize a guest's purpose for going on the show.

Although during the primaries he repeatedly denied an intent to mount a third-party campaign, Dr. Paul may have reconsidered given the Republican National Committee's hijacking of the Republican Party at the convention.

The affronts to the Paul campaign specifically and to the electoral process in general were many.

First, the RNC denied credential to 10 Ron Paul delegates from Maine, robbing Paul of a majority of that state's delegation. One disgusted Maine delegate described this decision as a "huge slap in the face."

Next, as the Convention Rules Committee met August 28, the Romney campaign lawyer, Ben Ginsberg, showed up and pressured members to accept radical changes to the party's rules governing the binding of delegates and the way rules are to be revised in the future.

According to the revised Rule 15 (to be renumbered as Rule 16 in the new rule book) as proposed by Ginsberg, every state must amend its nominating process to ensure that their delegations are bound to vote in accordance with the winner of the popular vote as cast at state caucuses or primaries.

Ginsberg's version of Rule 12 empowers the RNC to bend its own rules to suit their needs at any time without submitting the changes to party members gathered at the quadrennial convention. This unprecedented revision places the control of the GOP in the hands of the Establishment candidate without suffering the inconvenience of listening to dissenting voices. In the future the nomination of an incumbent Republican president is guaranteed and upon leaving office, he will be able to name his chosen successor through manipulation of the party rules.

Curiously, the driver of a bus carrying the delegate holding the official objections to the proposed rule changes circled the venue refusing to stop, causing that delegate to arrive too late to file the objections. Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) then proceeded to call for a vote on Ginsberg's rewrite of the Republican rulebook.

Standing at the podium and reading from a teleprompter, Boehner instructed those in favor of the rules to say "aye" and those opposed to say "nay."

Video of the vote clearly demonstrates that those against the adoption of the Romney-friendly rules numbered at least as many as those in favor. In light of the closeness of the voice vote, Boehner should have called for a roll call vote rather than a voice vote. But in another example of unexplained deviation from applicable Republican Party protocol, Boehner ignored the dissenting votes, declaring, "The ayes have it."

More shocking than the Speaker's ignoring of the dissenting votes is the revelations that came through cell phone video posted to the Internet only minutes after this "vote." These videos record the script scrolling on Boehner's teleprompter and reveal that the adoption of the rules was scripted and that the new rules weren't voted on at all. Regardless of how long before Boehner's appearance the script was written and entered into the teleprompter, the undeniable fact is that the outcome of the vote was decided in advance by whoever typed that text into the teleprompter.

Put simply, the passage of a radical new rulebook rewritten by a lawyer from the Romney campaign was predetermined and the voice vote taken at the convention was a sham, sound and fury signifying nothing.

This was not only an insult to those duly elected Republican delegates who in good faith opposed the revised rules, but was irrefutable proof that the fix was in and that despite winning a plurality of the delegates in at least five states, Ron Paul was never in the running for the nomination.

The big tent has collapsed leaving only ringmaster Romney standing safely next to the Establishment's center stake.

Outside the Tampa Bay Times Forum where the convention was held, Ron Paul's senior campaign adviser Doug Wead said that the RNC's attack on Ron Paul was more vicious  and planned than it appeared.

In an interview with We Are Change, Wead revealed details of the Romney-approved plan to persecute Paul and his followers and forever change the direction of the Republican Party.

Calling the Party's treatment of Paul "stupid," Wead wondered why Romney would go out of his way to alienate so many voters and punish Paul supporters when he already had the nomination locked up.

Wead commented that now that the new rules were rammed through, "10 fat men sitting in a room" are in complete control of the Republican Party and who will get the nomination in future elections.

In contrast to the Republican Party, the liberty movement led by Dr. Paul "cherishes people's freedom and will not tell them who to vote for," Wead. "We are behind the Constitution and want to free the marketplaces allowing people to make money without an oligarchy deciding who gets to have money and who doesn't," he added.

Wead said that it is difficult for a constitutional candidate to get elected to national office because "the insiders control what we read and what we see in the media."

Perhaps the most noteworthy of Wead's comments was his disclosure that Mitt Romney threatened "to drop an A-bomb" on Ron Paul if he were to go on the offensive.

"He [Romney] threatened to destroy forever the name Ron Paul by producing commercials and advertising that would destroy his [Paul's] name and reputation," Wead said.

Rather than destroy him with ads, Romney hijacked the Republican Party and assured that he and the monied cabal he represents will now call the shots in perpetuity.

In fairness, the RNC did play a four-minute video tribute to Dr. Paul at the convention. Proclaiming Paul's willingness to chart his own path, the video highlights a few of Paul's Party-palatable policies.

"In 22 years in Congress, Ron Paul has never voted for a tax increase, never voted for a debt ceiling increase, never backed down," the voiceover correctly reports.

The video features testimony from several of his congressional colleagues including his son, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) praising Paul for his lifelong commitment to limited government, lower taxes, and individual liberty.

What wasn't mentioned, however, was his opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, his opposition to the National Defense Authorization Act, and his opposition to potential military involvement in Syria and Iran all of which are supported by the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.

It remains to be seen if all these factors will add up to the announcement Tuesday night of a Ron Paul third-party presidential campaign. There are undoubtedly millions who voted for Ron Paul in the primaries and caucuses who would welcome the opportunity to demonstrate their continued support for Dr. Paul. Add to that the many Republicans repulsed by their party's treatment of Paul delegates and shameless manipulation of the rule-making and nominating process, and the sum is a serious and significant bloc of Americans who could line up behind the liberty icon should he continue his pursuit of the presidency.
