Obama's 2008 campaign web site was notable in that its credit card arm did did require any security info. the AVS [address verification system] was turned off, and there was no requirement for the 3-digit security code from the back of the credit card. many thousands of dollars were donated from the Gaza Strip, and a Missouri woman was shocked to find out that campaign finance records showed her donating $174K with her credit card. none of those funds ever showed up on her bill.

I decided to test this, so I went to the Obama campaign site last night. I offered a $3.00 donation with a credit card. it asked for my name, address, employer, and occupation.

after waiting a bit, I logged onto my credit card account site, and I was indeed charged $3.00.

It would be trivially easy to acquire prepaid debit cards, and donate millions to the Obama campaign, entering the actual names and addresses of

American citizens.

Hmm....which foreign entities would like to keep Obama in power for another four years? How about Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela?? might they consider $50 or $100 million a solid investment in keeping their guy in power?

City school kids evicted from 9/11 memorial site after dropping trash in fountains during field trip

New York Daily News: A group of Brooklyn students on a school trip to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum were booted from the hallowed site after they callously hurled trash into its fountains.

The vile vandals from Junior High School 292 in East New York treated the solemn memorial — its reflecting pools honoring the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks — like a garbage dump.

"They kicked us out because of littering in the water. Kids were throwing baseballs in the pond thing," said eighth-grader Anthony Price, 14, of East New York, who insisted he wasn't one of the troublemakers. In addition to the baseballs, witnesses reported seeing empty plastic soda bottles and other refuse in the water on Thursday.

"They were making jokes and throwing stuff in the fountain. It didn't seem like a big deal," added another student on the trip who refused to give his name.

Department of Education officials have launched an investigation into the students' shenanigans.

Tourists visiting the site Saturday said they were disgusted by the students' filthy acts. "That is an absolute disgrace," said Sharon Hooks, 55, a school teacher from Hartford, Conn. "I don't care if these children were too young to remember the events of that day. They need to be taught to be respectful."

Rene LaRosa, of Saddle Brook, N.J., pinned the blame squarely on the shoulders of the students. "If these kids were in middle school, then they're old enough to know better," said LaRosa, a preschool teacher. "It's a memorial. They showed an absolute lack of respect."

Even fellow students were offended. "It's terrible," said Walter Douglas, 13, who said he was not on the trip but heard about the incident from a friend. "You're supposed to be there to remember the people."

In a separate incident on the same field trip, kids said one of their classmates was busted for attempting to bring firearm ammunition to the site. "The kid had three bullets when they went through the metal detector," said a JHS 292 student who wouldn't give his name because he feared the other kids might take revenge.

"All the kids saw the cops come and take the bullets," the boy added. Police said they discovered three .33-caliber rounds in a plastic bin in the security area of the monument on Thursday, but they did not make any arrests.

Memorial spokesman Michael Frazier confirmed Saturday that the students were removed from the site for tossing refuse into the reflecting pools, which mark the footprints of the twin towers.

"It really is so sad that anyone would disrespect the souls that were lost in the terrorist attacks back on 9/11," said Al Hagan, president of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association. "One can only hope that these children do not become lost and that they learn from their mistakes."

"No one was disrespecting. It wasn't nothing like that," said one student. "No one was being serious. Everyone was kind of bored and it was just something to do."

The 9/11 Memorial opened for the 10th anniversary of the 2001 attacks last year. It is "a tribute of remembrance and honor" to those killed on Sept. 11, 2001.

Where were the "teachers" while this was taking place? Why weren't they controlling the kids? Disrespectful little brats.

This is a Public Service Announcement:

CBS Cleveland reports, June 22, 2012, someone put super glue on a toilet seat in a women's restroom in the Walmart store in Monticello, Kentucky.

Police were called to the store because a woman sat on the toilet seat and was stuck for more than an hour, glued to the seat. The unidentified woman was taken to the hospital after emergency responders were able to get her off.

"We are looking at it," Chief Ralph Miniard of the Monticello Police Department told WAVE-TV. "Right now I wouldn't be prepared to say if it was accidental or intentional."

Walmart has yet to comment on the case.

Our society is chock full of sociopaths. So ladies, be careful the next time you use a public restroom. Guys, too!

Use a disposable paper toilet-seat cover!

If they ever catch the person who did this, I hope they superglue his/her face to the toilet seat.

Here you have OSHA clamping down on the owners of a gun range for minor and frivolous infractions, while it is our government that allowed thousands of high-powered weapons to flow across the border into the hands of narco-terrorists during the Fast and Furious gun-walking fiasco--resulting in the death of Border Agent Brian Terry and some 300 Mexicans. Perhaps OSHA should have worked with the ATF during Fast and Furious. OSHA could have required the ATF to affix labels to the guns which read, "WARNING: Harmful to Mexicans and Border Patrolman."

OSHA Targets Shooting Range

(The Volokh Conspiracy)--The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued a citation, along with a proposed fine of $111,000 fine (OSHA press release here), againstIllinois Gun Works–a gun store and gunsmith business which has a shooting range and teaches safety classes. HT Instapundit and David Codrea. In a November 2009 article for the NRA magazine America's 1st Freedom, I warned about the dangers of President Obama's nomination of David Michaels as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health (head of OSHA), based on Michaels' well-established record as an anti-gun advocate.

Many of alleged OSHA violations at the safety training range involved noise exposure for the instructors. Among OSHA's suggestions were to eliminate training in "larger caliber" handguns such as "9 mm Luger and/or .45 Colt" and substitute "handguns of smaller caliber," such as .22LR. And "Prohibition of any shotguns and/or rifles firing in the firing range." (p. 6). In other words, eliminate training for all firearms except those which are least likely to have the stopping power to be effective for self-defense. And ensure that the range can never provide students with personal instruction in the use of the firearms which constitute the vast majority of firearms which people actually own.

Among the "violations" noted in the citation: An instructor on the range wore Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Earmuffs, which allegedly provided insufficient noise protection. (p. 11). I've never used the Howard Leight brand, but I have used electronic muffs from Peltor and from Dillon. Electronic muffs are the perfect choice for hearing protection and range safety, especially for an instructor. When the muffs detect a sound spike, they instantly shut down, reducing the noise to a comfortable level. Unlike passive muffs, electronic muffs do not block sound at other times, so it is much easier for the instructor to communicate with students, and to hear everything going on in the area. Indeed, normal sounds (but not gunshots) can be amplified by the muff's electronics, if the user so chooses.

My Peltor muffs have a Noise Reduction Rating of 19 decibels, while the Howard Leight muffs used by the Illinois Gun Works instructor had a NRR of 22db. I have previously used passive muffs (consisting of foam padding around the ears, with no electronics); passive muffs with a NRR in the low 20s allow more sound than I want, and I find that for passive muffs, a NRR of 29 or higher is much better. However, whatever the rated NRR of the electronic muffs, I can tell you that electronic muffs are far superior at sound reduction compared to passive muffs with much higher ratings. My Peltors with a NRR of 19db make gunshots much quieter than do my passive muffs with a NRR of 30db. Yet Illinois Gun Works is being fined because an instructor used superior hearing protection.

Here's another violation: "A gun range instructor conducting shooter instruction was observed reaching down on the range floor to collect a loaded handgun cartridge. The employee was not wearing any hand protection such as gloves. The gun range floor was contaminated with lead. The gun had misfired and it required manual cycling of the barrel slide to remove the defective round which then fell on the gun range floor." (p. 22). This is absurd. Range floors are necessarily going to have lead dust on them. In the course of live fire instruction, there are inevitably going to be some misfeeds, which result in a round falling to the floor. You don't leave live ammunition lying on the floor. And if you're going to be helping students clear misfeeds (step 1: press the small button which releases the magazine so that it drops out of the gun), you can often do so better with bare hands with gloves. After any time on the shooting range, it is essential to wash hands thoroughly with cold water. The notion that picking up a round from the floor is some kind of special danger is ridiculous.
