Teens Who Nailed Burglar May Be Charged

Teen Crimestoppers In Trouble
By Kent McManigal

Never, ever call the police.  And never speak to reporters.

A couple of Albuquerque teens are facing possible legal trouble after catching a thief and then beating him up.

Did they go too far?  Maybe.  It depends on what the truth is, and that may never be known.  However, the burglar admitted being a burglar.  And he was caught trespassing.  The teens had every right to track him down to recover stolen property.  If the thief then attacked them with a knife as they claim, they did the right thing by defending themselves.

In all cases I think it is right to give the benefit of the doubt to those who did not initiate force, fraud, or theft.  The burglar committed theft, and doesn't deny it.

The cops do not wish to be seen as unnecessary.  It is hard to justify living on stolen money, taken by coercion, if people can handle situations themselves.  Yet, we can and they are unnecessary, and even promote crime by their very existence through the very mechanism displayed here.  The "cooperate with the bad guys and just call the professionals" mantra.  That is a recipe for defeatism.

It is a lesson the authorities hope we all learn.  No thanks.

Laughing your head off in Liberal Land

By Jack Kemp

The new tone of civility the liberals are pursuing apparently includes wishing violent death on Sarah Palin. Recently in Missoula, Montana, an otherwise high quality performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado by the Missoula Children's Theater had the script altered with the approval of the MCT director Curt Olds to call for the beheading of Sarah Palin in the tune "As some Day it May Happen (I've Got a Little List)" and thus singing about her "not being missed," as the Wall St. Journal informs us.

The source of this news was an attendee at the play named Rory Page who poignantly states in a letter to the theater director:

"As a professional you should be ashamed of yourself, the audience should be ashamed of themselves and I am ashamed of myself for not standing up and leaving at that very moment. I would like to see an apology from you not because I want to hinder free-speech but for the hypocrisy this so clearly shows."

Apparently this is what our Bill Ayers-influenced children's educators now believe is the proper subject to teach youngsters to sing along to, not the contemplation of the beheading of some  nineteenth century caricatures, but a very real twenty-first century conservative politician.  Until Mr. Page took offense, the performance evidently was acceptable in the liberal enclave of Missoula. All this days after the Tucson massacre and not that long after the Virginia Tech shootings -- or the Columbine shootings, for that matter.

I'm sure the wife and family of the late Daniel Pearl, whose death was dramatized in the movie "A Mighty Heart" would also fail to see the humor in this joking about beheading Sarah Palin. And in what way did this performance differ from the Palestinian television show with a Mickey Mouse-like figure urging children to kill Jews for jihad (here  and here)?

Any rationalized explanation of the difference between Palestinian television and this Montana Children's Theater performance of the Mikado would be, in fact, an attempt to explain away hatred in the same vein, but with a lower body count used as the spin to convince us that this Mikado was something much more benign.  In fact, the Mikado performance in Montana was an early stage cancerous growth and not a benign one.

There is, in fact, a line in that "Little List" song that makes reference to a type of person who we have seen much of recently in liberal circles. The song complains about:

"Then the idiot who praises, with enthusiastic tone,All centuries but this, and every country but his own"

I could think of a number of people who fit that description, starting with Rep. Jim Moran who went overseas to attack American voters as racists on an Arab television station.    As the song, in discussing "apologetic statesmen" in the vaguest of mock names, it concludes with:

"The task of filling up the blanks I'd rather leave to you."

The toned down mischievousness of the original wording allows people of all political persuasions to invoke in their minds the name of their opponents in a light, general manner and not turn a musical performance into a call for a specific person's blood in front of an audience which often includes children and perhaps some adults of weak mind.  Thus, the original song avoids a resemblance to a tyrant's staged call for assassination(s).

John Edwards was right. There really are two Americas, but not in the way he meant it. As liberals call for divisiveness of the most bloody kind in a children's theater performance (no, it wasn't mere "fun" but a teaching of what is now socially acceptable in that community), it is necessary to shine "the sun, whose rays are all ablaze," to borrow a line from a different song in the Mikado, on this vile biliousness in order to make its influence wane.

DCCC "Targets" 19 GOP House members

[[  I'd fire back at the Demoshits calling them what they are:  socialists, commieshits, muzzie-lovers, and traitors.  ]]

DCCC "Targets" 19 GOP House members

Any violence that happens this week should be blamed on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. They are "targeting" Republicans and we know how violent left-wing lunatics are. The use of the word "target" is sure to set one of them off.

The Hill reports:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has pegged its first GOP targets of the 2012 cycle, launching radio and web ads in the districts of 19 House Republicans this week.

Democrats need to pick up 25 House seats to win back the majority in 2012.

It's the first media salvo of the cycle for the DCCC, predominantly targeting GOP freshmen in Democratic-leaning districts.

The ads hit the new Republican majority in the House for tunnel vision on spending cuts and backing "a partisan plan that costs jobs." Among the targets is Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (R-N.Y.), who hails from a district that voted for President Obama in 2008 and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) in 2004.

All this violent political rhetoric coming from those on the left. This disturbing language could cause a left-winger to go on another rampage, which judging by our prison system, seems to happen a lot.

TSA Shuts Door On Private Airport Screening Program

"Stop supporting unproductive anti-social individuals who won't leave you alone."
- Marc Stevens

TSA Shuts Door On Private Airport Screening Program
January 29, 2011 | By Mike M. Ahlers and Jeanne Meserve, CNN

A program that allows airports to replace government screeners with private screeners is being brought to a standstill, just a month after the Transportation Security Administration said it was "neutral" on the program.

TSA chief John Pistole said Friday he has decided not to expand the program beyond the current 16 airports, saying he does not see any advantage to it.

Though little known, the Screening Partnership Program allowed airports to replace government screeners with private contractors who wear TSA-like uniforms, meet TSA standards and work under TSA oversight. Among the airports that have "opted out" of government screening are San Francisco and Kansas City.

The push to "opt out" gained attention in December amid the fury over the TSA's enhanced pat downs, which some travelers called intrusive.

Rep. John Mica, a Republican from Florida, wrote a letter encouraging airports to privatize their airport screeners, saying they would be more responsive to the public.

At that time, the TSA said it neither endorsed nor opposed private screening.

"If airports chose this route, we are going to work with them to do it," a TSA spokesman said in late December.

But on Friday, the TSA denied an application by Springfield-Branson Airport in Missouri to privatize its checkpoint workforce, and in a statement, Pistole indicated other applications likewise will be denied.

"I examined the contractor screening program and decided not to expand the program beyond the current 16 airports as I do not see any clear or substantial advantage to do so at this time," Pistole said.

He said airports that currently use contractor screening will continue to be allowed to.

Pistole said he has been reviewing TSA policies with the goal of helping the agency "evolve into a more agile, high-performance organization."

Told of the change Friday night, Mica said he intends to launch an investigation and review the matter.

"It's unimaginable that TSA would suspend the most successfully performing passenger screening program we've had over the last decade," Mica said Friday night. "The agency should concentrate on cutting some of the more than 3,700 administrative personnel in Washington who concocted this decision, and reduce the army of TSA employees that has ballooned to more than 62,000."

"Nearly every positive security innovation since the beginning of TSA has come from the contractor screening program," Mica said.

Re: Pelosi on the SOTU - what a liar she is!!

Sorry Keith.
you should have read the article.
Williams Was the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Not the Prime Minister of Canada.
he is a very wealthy man. owns several cable companies.  and NFL is a very poor Provence. though getting better due to the offshore oil.
and Premier Williams rational is that he didn't think he should clogg up the system when he could pay for it himself.
For the record Williams is a conservative. and has openly endorsed the idea of private clinics. so he wasn't being a hypocrite.
Our healthcare system certainly has lots of problems. and the lefties go into a panic whenever the question of reform is raised. and we do need reform
there are only 3 countries in the world were is illegal to buy your own medical care. Cuba, North Korea and Canada.
Not the company I want my country to be in.
our system may be broken but I'll still take it. I could never have afforded the cancer treatments I needed a few years ago. nor the surgeries on my back.
So....
Bear

Canadian Health Care In Crisis

Free And First-Class — If You Can Wait

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/20/health/main681801.shtml?cmp=EM8705

(AP)  A letter from the Moncton Hospital to a New Brunswick heart patient in need of an electrocardiogram said the appointment would be in three months. It added: "If the person named on this computer-generated letter is deceased, please accept our sincere apologies."

The patient wasn't dead, according to the doctor who showed the letter to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. But there are many Canadians who claim the long wait for the test and the frigid formality of the letter are indicative of a health system badly in need of emergency care.

Americans who flock to Canada for cheap flu shots often come away impressed at the free and first-class medical care available to Canadians, rich or poor. But tell that to hospital administrators constantly having to cut staff for lack of funds, or to the mother whose teenager was advised she would have to wait up to three years for surgery to repair a torn knee ligament.
