Re: Zimmerman shooting not a hate crime

Dear plainol...: I began writing my New Constitution in 1996 after I
became incensed by the faulty reasoning that was used to convict a
black man of rape. Did you ever see 'To Kill a Mockingbird'? Do you
not know that blacks have been lynched and hanged just on the whim of
whites? And do you not know about the KKK and John Birch Society?
Even ONE person in jail for a crime they didn't commit is too many.
It is a proven fact that eyewitness testimony that such and such
"black" committed the crime is largely bogus, because research has
shown that whites have little or no provable ability to recognize a
black they may have only seen for a few seconds in the dark. The
screwed-up CULTURE of our police state causes those guys to feel
obligated to send someone to jail in EVERY case involving a black.
Our justice system convicts and punishes blacks more harshly than
whites.

Ask yourself this: If, 16 years ago, you saw a competently reported,
hour-long TV show talking about the injustices to Blacks, and you
spent much of the intervening time writing a New Constitution to
CORRECT those injustices, would you be offended to be asked to cite
the source for that referenced percentage? You people KNOW what I
have been doing to help humanity. What have YOU ever done in those
regards, plainol... ?

Hillary Clinton Tight With Muslim Sisterhood

Hillary Clinton Tight With Muslim Sisterhood

by burkasrugly

Fellow infidels,

Hillary Clinton was not very well liked when she was first lady of Arkansas, and the entire United States is finding out why we had her number.  Clinton's right-hand woman is Anthony Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin.  Huma's mother, Dr. Saleha Mahmood Abedin, has been identified in Saudi Arabia as one of the founding members of the Muslim Sisterhood, a Muslim Brotherhood women's group, according to an article on Frontpagemag.com by Nonie Darwish.

It is so unbelievable to us here in the United States, but this woman, Dr. Abedin, advocates for Sharia law in Egypt. Abedin is supposedly a learned woman, so why can't she see that this satanic-inspired law  is bad for women? Islamic brainwashing maybe?  Her organization is simply a sisterhood of brainwashed Muslim women who advocate for women to be sugjugated and mutilated by Muslim men.  How sadistic is that?  The men have tricked the women into doing their dirty work.

And isn't Hillary Clinton supposed to be a champion of women's rights?  I suppose she is as long as it doesn't contradict the whims and plans of Muslims or Islam.

Until next time,

Burkasrugly

5 X-Events that Can Collapse the World as You Know It

5 X-Events that Can Collapse the World as You Know It

Posted By John Hawkins On July 9, 2012

X-Events: The Collapse Of Everything is not a cheery book. In essence, it argues that the complexity required to underpin modern living is making it increasingly unsustainable.

The crunch comes when we recognize that societies must continually solve problems in order to keep growing. But the solution to these problems requires ever more complex structures. Ultimately, a point is reached where all the resources of the society are consumed just in maintaining the system at its current level. At this point, the society is experiencing a complexity overload; no further degrees of freedom exist for coping with new problems. When the next problem appears, the system cannot accommodate it by adding more complexity. So it collapses quickly through an X-event that rapidly reduces the complexity overload.

You're probably wondering what sort of "X-event" could create so much havoc that our society would have trouble coping with it for months or years at a time — if ever. Here are a few possibilities.

1) Death by Physics: Destruction of the Earth through the Creation of Exotic Particles!

This is an unlikely yet fun one, if your idea of fun is seeing the entire earth destroyed.

Did you know that when American scientists were first developing a nuclear bomb, there were genuine concerns that the temperatures created by the explosion of a nuclear weapon might be hot enough to set the earth's atmosphere on fire? That would have quickly baked all of humankind like a giant pot pie. There was enough worry about this possibility that Robert Oppenheimer called for a study on the matter, which concluded that "a nuclear fireball cools down far too rapidly to set the atmosphere aflame." Since you're still alive to read this column, happily that was one government report that turned out to be right.

That brings us to the Large Hadron Collider, where scientists are creating mini "Big Bangs" and temperatures a million times hotter than the center of the sun. On the one hand, this has the potential to teach us a lot about physics and the creation of the universe. On the other, we're toying with powerful forces we don't understand. Some people even think it has the potential to destroy the planet by creating a black hole. Others fear it could set off a chain reaction caused by strangelets that could wipe out all life on earth. The good news is that it's probably safe. Probably — and if it isn't, all of us will be dead before we can yell at the scientists who killed us anyway; so why worry?

2) Digital Darkness: Widespread Failure of the Internet!

The Internet has morphed into the nervous system of the global economy. It's how you can go to an ATM anywhere and get money. It's tied into the cash registers you use when you buy from chain stores. It's how supermarkets and companies like Wal-Mart know where to ship their inventory. Airlines and trains are also dependent on the net for scheduling. All of that is aside from the hundreds of billions of dollars in daily economic transactions and people who rely on the Internet to communicate.

What happens if the net goes down, not in a limited area for an hour or two, but across the entire United States or even the world, for months at a time? With nations like China engaging in organized, sophisticated cyber attacks and hacking, we'd better prepare.

Of course, in an age where sophisticated malware like Stuxnet and FLAME penetrate and take down government systems, it may not be possible to fully secure any system connected to the Internet. Also, all of that assumes that a lone security expert like Robert Kaminsky, who found in the DNS system that which would have allowed him to "reassign any web address, reroute anyone's e-mail, take over bank accounts or even scramble the whole Internet," doesn't exploit weaknesses in the design of the Internet to bring it down.

You think people get aggravated when Twitter or Facebook is down for a couple of hours? Well, imagine having the entire Internet down for a couple of months with no idea when it's coming back up. At that point, a "fail whale" would be the least of anyone's problems.

3) Running on Empty: Drying Up of World Oil Supplies!

Peak oil theory has consistently been proven wrong. So, are we likely to run out of oil? No, because as it becomes more expensive, other alternatives will become more attractive. Yet and still, this isn't Star Trek. Science moves slowly and even after advances become tenable, it still takes time to roll them out.

That's extremely important because there are relatively few large sources of oil. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates combined account for 60% of the world's oil reserves. Imagine a couple of very plausible scenarios occurring at the same time — perhaps a war between Israel and Iran along with a civil war in Saudi Arabia. If that were to happen, you could easily see the price of oil double or even triple overnight with no easy fix. No technological alternative could immediately fill the gap and the rest of the world wouldn't be able to produce enough to make up for the shortage.

In poorer nations, that would make oil such an expensive commodity that it could practically shut down their economies. That wouldn't happen in wealthier Western countries like the United States, but you could see gas lines, enforced conservation, and dramatically reduced economic growth coupled with runaway inflation. If oil pipelines and refineries were damaged in the fight or other oil producers decided to gouge instead of helping to alleviate the problem, it's entirely possible the economic pain could drag on for years and make the Carter era look like, well, the Carter era with twice as much Jimmy Carter!

4) I'm Sick of It: Global Pandemic!

Over the course of human history our species has endured some monumental pandemics. In the 1300s the Bubonic plague killed roughly 100 million people and reduced the population of Europe somewhere between 30% to 60%.

Keep in mind that the population of the earth was probably only somewhere around 450 million back then; so that would be roughly the equivalent of a plague that killed 75 million people in the United States today. The Spanish Flu was even worse. It also killed roughly 100 million people out of a much larger population, but it did it in about six months. If something that severe hit today, it would eradicate roughly 350 million people worldwide over the same timeframe. The scary thing is that it's entirely possible a new natural plague could hit or, worse yet, an old virus re-engineered as a bioweapon could be loosed. While we have better sanitation than the old days and medical science has advanced considerably, it's still entirely possible that our own personal Andromeda Strain could cause so much population loss and economic damage that it could take decades to overcome.

5) Technology Run Amok: Intelligent Robots Overthrow Humanity!

Ever seen I, Robot, The Matrix, or read Michael Crichton's book Prey about Nanobots run wild? Then you get the general idea. At this early juncture in history, where machines aren't very advanced, a robot rampage seems like an idea that should be left to science fiction. Is your toaster going to hop on over and treat you like a croissant while you sleep? It's laughable.

Except that line of thinking ignores a key trend: if Moore's Law continues to hold up, we should have computers that are as smart and mentally flexible as human beings by 2020. Put another way, by 2021 we may have computers that are smarter than the average person and increasing their intellectual superiority by the year. The idea that we can command and control intellects that far exceed our own seems plausible as long as they're greatly limited in their capacity. However, what happens if and when we have androids as advanced as Data from Star Trek or The Terminator? It's entirely possible that when that day comes, it could be the beginning of the post-human phase of life on earth.

Obama marks Ramadan

Asslifter-in-Chief

http://drudgegae.iavian.net/r?hop=http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/07
/obama-marks-ramadan-129636.html

In a statement, President Obama commemorated the Muslim holiday of Ramadan -
calling it a time to "cherish family, friends, and neighbors, and to help
those in need."

"On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes
to Muslim Americans and Muslims around the world at the start of Ramadan,"
Obama said.

Obama also took the opportunity to tie in the struggles of people across the
Muslim world engaged in ongoing fighting related to the Arab spring
uprisings that began in 2011.

"This year, Ramadan holds special meaning for those citizens in the Middle
East and North Africa who are courageously achieving democracy and
self-determination and for those who are still struggling to achieve their
universal rights.  The United States continues to stand with those who seek
the chance to decide their own destiny, to live free from fear and violence,
and to practice their faith freely.  Here in the United States, Ramadan
reminds us that Islam is part of the fabric of our Nation, and that - from
public service to business, from healthcare and science to the arts - Muslim
Americans help strengthen our country and enrich our lives," Obama said.

(Also on POLITICO: 9/11 tribunal delays hearing set during Ramadan)

"Even as Ramadan holds profound meaning for the world's 1.5 billion Muslims,
it is also a reminder to people of all faiths of our common humanity and the
commitment to justice, equality, and compassion shared by all great faiths.
In that spirit, I wish Muslims across America and around the world a blessed
month, and I look forward to again hosting an iftar dinner here at the White
House.  Ramadan Kareem," Obama said.

Ramadan is a month-long celebration of fasting and reflection celebrated by
Muslims worldwide.

Tea Party Member Falsely Linked to Colorado Shooting by ABC’s Brian Ross Describes His “Surreal Day

Estimate the net worth of ABC, add 2 zeros, sue for that amount.

New post on Scotty Starnes's Blog

Tea Party Member Falsely Linked to Colorado Shooting by ABC's Brian Ross Describes His "Surreal Day

by Scotty Starnes

Hope he sues ABC for their inaccurate "investigative" reporting.

From DC:

Colorado Tea Party Patriots member Jim Holmes told The Daily Caller in a Friday interview that his day has been "surreal" after falsely being linked to the movie theater massacre in Colorado by an on-air ABC News reporter.

"What kind of idiot makes that kind of statement?" Holmes told TheDC. "Really, seriously, how do we take a journalist seriously when it's pretty clear they really haven't done any sort of check on their facts?"

Holmes has the unfortunate coincidence of sharing a similar name with James Holmes, the 24-year-old accused of going on a rampage during a midnight showing of the "Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colo., early Friday morning.

What ABC New's head investigative reporter didn't know is that this James Holmes was a 52-year-old former law enforcement officer. Ross basically didn't a basic Google search and pulled up the Colorado Tea Party page that happened to have "James Holmes" listed as a member. Instead of investigating, Ross decided to go on air and use this "gotcha" information to slander both Holmes and the Tea Party as he smirked.

ABC apologized for Ross' mistake.

...Recalling his day, Holmes said his wife first told him about the movie theater shooting Friday morning. He then received a text from a friend telling him that he was being mentioned on the news.

After the calls started pouring in, Holmes unplugged his home phone. He wanted to learn more about what was being said about him before commenting to anyone, he said. "I was getting called from area codes I just don't get."

"And I don't anticipate plugging my phone in for a couple of days," he said.

His message to reporters: "I do understand what making a mistake means… But is it really worth the person's reputation, the potential ruining of the person's reputation?"

He added that he knows from his law enforcement experience that one should "never, ever, ever bring somebody's name or association into an accusation into the public eye until I know the truth."

Holmes said it has also been a chilling day for him and his family because he considered going to see the midnight opening of the Batman film with his 19-year-old daughter.

But she decided to go see a film at another theater with her boyfriend that night, he said.

"I decided not to," Holmes told TheDC. "I might have been there. Seriously."

Colorado theater called 'gun-free' zone

Colorado theater called 'gun-free' zone

Lawmaker: 'Was there nobody that was carrying that could've stopped this guy?'

Published: 3 hours ago
by Chelsea Schilling

Gun advocates say the movie theater where a Colorado gunman opened fire Friday, killing 12 and wounded 58, has a strict policy against firearms on its premises – even for patrons have concealed handgun permits.

Cinemark Holdings Inc. owns 459 theaters and 5,181 screens in the U.S. and Latin America – including the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colo., scene of the mass shooting.

The company does not appear to post its firearms policy on its website. WND's after-hours calls and emails to Cinemark had not been returned at the time of this report.

Dudley Brown, executive director of Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, told ABC News the Aurora Century 16 movie theater's policy prohibits firearm carry.

Since 2006, some pro-gun bloggers have complained about their own experiences with Cinemark gun policies.

On the Defensive Carry blog, one Alaskan moviegoer posting under the name "SubNine" claimed Cinemark managers asked him to put his firearm in his vehicle if he wanted to see a movie. According to his post, the managers showed him a cardboard sign near the ticket counter that said, "No firearms allowed."

"I'll be writing Cinemark a nice letter explaining my views towards their no firearms policy," he wrote on an Oct. 18, 2009, discussion board.

Another man in Utah posted in a 2008 forum on OpenCarry.org that he had received a call from Dan Myers of Cinermark's corporate office.

"[H]e informed me that Cinemark's official policy is that ONLY [law enforcement officers] CAN CARRY INTO THEIR THEATERS. NO CONCEALED WEAPONS, NO [open carry]," he wrote. "He asked me that we not send e-mails to tell them their policy sucks. Okay, well I don't think that's possible."

In August 2009, one moviegoer in Scranton, Penn., claimed he had been escorted by police out of a Cinemark location after a manager pulled him aside and told him he couldn't enter a theater while carrying a gun. The manager asked him to put his gun in his car.

"I told him that I would mind putting it in my car and that as I was handicapped, my gun is my crutch for self-defense and that I had openly carried there many times before," the poster identified as "Nepawolf" wrote. "He said all right, that's fine. To make sure I understood his last statement, I asked if I had to put my gun in my car, to which he replied that I didn't and told us to go on in."

However, "Nepawolf" said the manager entered the theater with two police officers, who asked him to go outside.

"Officer #1 informs me that firearms are prohibited in the theater and as such I'm going to have put it in my vehicle," he said. "Officer #1 said that they have a 'no firearms' sign out front and as such I have to leave if I won't put it in my car. …

"Officer #1 shows us the sign at the bottom of a list of prohibitions, about knee height on the far left side (Which, of course, you wouldn't see when you're looking straight up to find your movie time or when you're paying for your ticket as the counter is in the way then). Officer #1 tells us that since they have the sign they can ask us to leave and if they didn't they wouldn't be able to. He also said that Mr. Halt can't give us special permission as it is corporate policy. Mr. Halt gives us our movie ticket refund (no money back for the almost $5 drinks though) and we leave.

"Also, at no time were we asked for ID, nor did they run the 'registration' on either one of the OCed guns, nor were we searched or disarmed. The bottom line of the whole situation is that we were allowed entrance, had to talk to the manager and were given the OK, and then escorted out in front of a packed theater like criminals and were not given a full refund."

In 2006, bloggers reported Cinemark theater in Merriam, Kan., posted a sign banning concealed carry.

In 2007, Reno, Nev., blogger "Felid Maximus" said he was asked to leave a Cinemark theater.

In 2008, another moviegoer reported seeing a "no firearms" sign at a Cinemark theater.

In 2010, another person complained about his experience with Cinemark in Louisville, Ky.

On March 28, 2012, a Pennsylvania blogger identified as "CapGun" wrote about his local Cinemark theater: "I was very disappointed and surprised to see a number of small signs one below the other off to the side of the ticket booths at about 2&1/2 feet off the floor>>> No smoking, no outside food allowed etc and the one that bothered me… Firearms prohibited."

In the wake of the Colorado tragedy, Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert asked today, "Well it does make me wonder, you know with all those people in the theater, was there nobody that was carrying that could've stopped this guy more quickly?"

That's exactly how it happened in the same town just three months ago – when a man gunned down a pastor's mother at the New Destiny Center church in Aurora, Colo.

The shooter, Kiarron Parker, had been released early from prison after serving time for assaulting two officers.

An off-duty Denver police officer – who had been carrying a concealed firearm during the church service – shot and killed the gunman.

http://www.9news.com/news/article/264669/339/Pastors-mother-killed-in-church-shooting

What would you do if armed attackers broke into your church or movie theater and starting attacking your friends with automatic weapons? Would you be prepared to defend yourself and other innocents? A man who did just that explains why good people NEED guns.
