Is most advertising innocuous?

I don't think so!

The Corporate state has turned the secular slogan "the pursuit of
happiness" into a competitive rush to accumulate stuff. The more
effective the advertising, the more we have become "shoppers" and
"consumers." The public health deteriorates from engesting too many
drugs and chemicals, we are running short on water and other vital
resources, and we are sacrificing our need to expand out into and
colonize the universe all in order to buy more petty luxuries.

Now we are told hat we need to buy the stuff in order to put people
back to work, just don't go into debt to do it. We are told that we
spend too much, also, and that it is the fault of "Big Government"---
not big business. Moreover, we are told the press is too liberal even
though it is also big buiness and supported by big busines advertisers
who won't advertise in news outlets that don't tell the news in the
way they want.

Oh, by the way, Donald trump says he is proud of himself. Should he
be proud of lying?
