Re: Drowning in a Sea of Right Wing Extremism, Prejudice, and Bigotry

But Tommy, if you're interested in balanced discussion you really need
to stop parrot writings from the far left. Consider this opening
post...

* Border security.. a problem that was every bit a hot button under
Bush as it is under Obama. The people doing the patrolling are not
anti-immigrant vigilante groups, they are people who are demanding of
our government to protect our borders and stop allowing violence from
Mexico to bleed into our country. That is NOT racism; that is not
right wing extremism. They simply want the violence to end, and to see
this country enforce existing immigration laws. If you can show how
that is extremism or racism, please do so. In the mean time I will
consider the accusations for what they are; unfounded hateful rhetoric
from the left as well as either ignorance or unwillingness to address
the problems.

* Dupnik, a sheriff actively involved in the attack on Saturday,
spouting off about how right wing extremism caused the attack, only to
later have to admit there is absolutely no evidence to support his
claims. His comments alone created much of the uncivil discourse that
arose from the attack, yet the author of the article you copied over
seems to think his opinion is important enough to quote him. It is
not. He's been unprofessional and an embarrassment to the Pima County
Sheriff's dept, and he has been dead wrong in his diatribe.

* The shooting deaths of 6 and the wounding of 14 others brought the
issue of mental health to the forefront. If there is an Arizona
crisis, it had nothing to do with the attack. Now I know this comes as
crushing defeat to those who wanted to somehow pin this on members of
the right wing, but as we approach nearly a week since the shooting,
by almost all accounts, the shooting was the result of a deranged
individual who seemed to be mad at everyone and who had a three year
fixation on Congresswoman Giffords. Nothing specific from the right -
no individual; no policy; no writings; no organizations - can be
linked to the shooter, yet desperate attackers from the left still try
to fabricate linkage.

* Steven Anderson - Wow, imagine that... there are people and even
groups who do not like President Obama or his policies. Gee, we never
saw that while President Bush was in office.. or President Clinton..
or... I mean, come on. That entire third paragraph is written as if
the right wing, anti-Obama crowd is doing something that's never been
done against other parties, other candidates or other elected
officials. How stupid to even write that stuff except to keep stirring
the mud.

* The shooting (or kicking out) of Giffords office window; "...an
attack possibly inspired by a far-Right anti-government militia
leader's...". Really now. "far-Right anti-government militia". That
sounds like more uncivil discourse from the left and less an official
designation. And it's unfortunate because, as the author noted when he
wrote "an attack POSSIBLY inspired...", responsibility was never
confirmed. It could also have been inspired by the far-Left which
felt Obama's healthcare didn't go nearly far enough and was angry with
Gifford for accepting such a compromise.

Tommy, everyone has their political bias and tend to read/listen/watch
accordingly. But to truly be informed, you need to balance your
sources, maintain an open mind, and thoughtfully come to conclusions
you can at least make an honest attempt to defend. This thread is
really just more of the same from you - predictable hate spam from far
left attack sites. What would really be refreshing would be to see you
start a thread with something from a right leaning source, and then
original thought from you challenging the conclusions. Now that would
be constructive...
