I defintely recall the fear and panic of the purported Anthrax attack.....

 

I was raising my daughter, by myself (as a single parent)  at the time, and even went out and bought a couple of gas masks......Seems stupid now, but at the time.....Well, it was stupid at the time too.  (I did get a good deal on them at the Army-Navy Surplus store that was once in Downtown Tampa however,and I bought an Army poncho liner that same day, which I still have!!)

With regard to the "Conservative nut case (FBI profile) that mailed anthrax to people"......Bruce Ivans was a career bureaucrat, a registered Democrat, and committed suicide in 2008.   There is a lot of contention by a number of Ivans' associates, collegues, friends and acquaintances, who claim that Ivans could not have been the one who created and then mailed the Anthrax......

 

We do know that the FBI has gotten a lot of stuff wrong in the past.....See Richard Jewell; the purported Atlanta Olympic Bomber......

I guess that didn't count as a terrorist attack Bush Jr. kept us safe
from because it was a conservative.
