RE: **JP** Letter to Editor - Gay Lesbian Ceremony

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Sir G... thier premises is the premises of America not ours ... its make no difference if was in New York on their embassy.... Would you stop these kind of activities in New York??? Is New York is your responsibility???? If no then not even their embassy.... .... even if it is located in Islamabad or Karachi..... we are not responsible by law also .. this is the reason why I said it is Ok if it is in their premises and no Pakistani is attentding..... As far as Quranic reference.. it is our duty to tell them about worst outcome of their activity but itis not our duty to force them to do or not to do anything... K hamara kaam sirf batana hai....

AOA
It is strange thing that u are simply saying that if this bloody shit is carried out within their premises than it is okay. Please do read THE HOLY QURAN that what ALLAH SUBAN TAHLA said
about them and what kind of ahezab was given to them by ALLAH SUBAN TAHLA.Atleast we should condemn it,which is the lowest degree of Aeman.
         May ALLAH forgive us.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

I have no objections if they are doing it within their premises of embassy, but the venue of the ceremony is not clear at all.. In fact, Col Jaffry also wrote:

 a) "reportedly"; and
b) " if the event was held out of sheer ignorance or by design – in any case both being highly unwise, undiplomatic and unwarranted.

Hence, it should be understood that the objection raised only if the ceremony held at any venue other than the US embassy.

I have a firm beleif that whoever is attending such kind of ceremony from Pakistan is our brother/sister.  Therefore, as far as "Who are we to teach some one Pakistani who goes there"? then my friend please tell me if we will not tell him/her then who would?  Remember, I am only suggesting to teach orally, no forcing is suggested as we all know that "La ikraha fid deen"....

Allah knows best......

Reference to Hamood ur Rub appreciation of Col Jaffery intervention....
According to the Diplomatic norms Embassy is considered part of the country whos embassy it is..not of the host country, so they can arrange any kind of function there.
Secondly if some one Pakistani goes there and attend then who are you to teach them and who has given you and Col the right to teach athics.
Please have mecy and leave these suppressed and depressed people of this country to live on their own.
Hope you understand my point.
Best wishes

Dear Join Pakistan

LETTER TO EDITOR
July 3rd, 2011

Gay Lesbian Ceremony

USembassy Islamabad reportedly held a "Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Pride Celebration" ceremony on June 26th 2011 to show Washington's support and solidarity towards the GLBTs of Pakistan. Could there be anything more stupid than this for the USA to do in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where such homosexuality is not only looked down upon with utmost scorn and contempt but also considered an awful sin?  How many GLBTs would be in Pakistan?  Not even Zero Zero One per cent.  And for that miniscule number the USA took the risk of antagonising 99.99 percent people of Pakistan! Could the embassy not foresee the negative impact of  such a function on the US-Pak relations which are already not very congenial? One simply fails to understand if the event was held out of sheer ignorance or by design – in any case both being highly unwise, undiplomatic and unwarranted.
