My book, 'The Shortest Distance; Harmony Through Prosperity', should
be on the shelves, soon. Long ago, I realized that the solutions to
most of this country's problems need to be solved as far removed from
government as possible. I had observed that those public officials
whom we elected because of their promises to… "fix" Washington never
seemed to do so. Taxes keep rising, and the percentage of "the pie"
that comes back home is too small to justify sending any more of our
money to Washington.
The reason why "philosophically conservative" Republicans can't fix
our broken government—those times when they have the political majority
—is because of entitlement programs like Social Security and
Medicare. People like "getting" from government. They all-too-
conveniently look-the-other-way when it is suggested that the
expenditures, today, are enslaving our grandkids, tomorrow, to pay off
the ever-rising national debt.
Glenn Beck has opted-out of leading our 2nd American Revolution due to
his sudden pacifism. He supposes that those in need can be provided-
for simply by having most Americans give 10% of their yearly earnings
to their places of worship. I'm amazed that Beck doesn't realize that
most such contributions never get beyond the physical walls of the
often-impressive edifices that people are expected to look-up-to.
It's not hard to suppose how Christ would feel about having so much
time and money being spent, in His Name, on ritualistic gatherings; on
buildings; and on a myriad of social activities for the members. A
better use of those members' time would be to spend, say, twelve days
a year working on Sunday, for free, in their normal jobs so that there
will be more products and services available, at lower cost, for more
people. Increased productivity helps people. But more time spent…
worshiping usually helps no one.
Those who watch Beck's TV show on Fox News know that he is a man with
ZEAL. No one can fault that! He is also a man of superstition who
believes in numerology. His "56 Refounders" flopped. Now, Beck is
hanging his hopes—as in "Faith, HOPE, and Charity"—on the number
"40". That's how many days the Bible says that Christ spent in the
wilderness learning the Truth from God. And it's how many employees
Beck continues to mention that he has. That man puts his faith—as in
"FAITH, Hope and Charity"—in the number 40. He supposes that 40 days
is just the right amount of time for the .7 million people who
attended his 8/28 Washington rally to resolve to improve their
characters, and to tithe.
Twenty five years is the time Beck supposes it will take before a
George-Washington-like leader can arise from the masses to fulfill
Beck's much-too-nebulous "dream" of having the People be in control of
government, again. I, on the other hand, would like to have "We the
PEOPLE…", again, be in charge of America within ONE year! That goal
can be achieved in just the one day it will take to ratify my New
Constitution! And there will be no need for anyone to improve his or
her character to do so.
A major hurtle to the above is America's masochistic 'love' of the
incessant GAME of politics. Tens of millions of dollars are wasted
every six years in every state simply to elect US Senators. That
money goes to the biased, elitist media, who continually do everything
in their power to make the political GAMES as close to cliff-hangers
as possible, so that their pockets will be filled from the ad
revenues. Folks, the USA is savable, but not without first bridling
our nearly universally corrupt news media!
An efficient, functioning government (state, local and federal) should
be possible without an expenditure of more than 10% of the GNP. When
you count hidden taxes that are built into every product sold, the
maximum present level of taxation, by those who pay taxes, is above
50%. The 10% goal can only be reached by scrapping 75% or so of
government programs, and laying off that many or more government
employees. Of course, the acceptability of such drastic reductions in
government services can only be assured if NON governmental sources
for those same services can quickly be substituted.
Here is one way to do the above: A poor family, seemingly unable to
survive without government help, will be PAIRED with a successful
family. In varying ways the successful family "helps out" the poor
family. But since it is better to teach the poor "to fish" than to
give them fish, the successful family will mentor and advise the poor
family how to carry-their-own-weight. That elusive "job"—seemingly so
impossible to find—might even be provided by the successful family
while the poor family gets trained how to become successful, too.
No well-working economy based on free Capitalism can solve our
problems unless businesses are required to be honest and fair in all
of their dealings. Rightly, I've described many Americans, including
those in Big Business, as being two-faced. The upside of that is that
under ideal circumstances, most people can voluntarily decide to show
their best sides. When businesses learn that being honest and fair is
good for business, those type businesses will become the norm!
For the past 15 years I have been tweaking not just the constitution
regarding government, but the 'rules' for the overall business ethic
in this country. Whenever I'd see examples of businesses behaving
badly, I'd add clauses to my New Constitution to be sure such behavior
is never encouraged. One example is how adversarial businesses are
toward those they supposedly serve. Get harmed by a business, then
seek amends that will favorably impact others in similar situations in
the future, and you will likely get stonewalled by the legal staffs of
the big corporations. My solution to that and hundreds of other
problems can be found in the following parts of my New Constitution,
and in other places:
… "Except as allowed elsewhere in this constitution, there shall be no
taxes, fees, licenses or other payments that are prorated based on
income or personal property; nor taxes on the free transfer of estates
to rightful heirs and/or assigns. Without a signed sales order
coerced, baited or unsolicited goods are free to the addressee. Any
bank billing such goods shall pay the addressee $25.00 per instance.
Persons profiting from scam; confusing promos, advertising or
contracts; trickery; high-pressure sales tactics; continuing charges
for difficult-to-cancel, no longer desired goods or services; or any
other willful dishonesty are committing a felony. It is a 5 year
felony to dictate or authorize—for undeserved gain—the dunning,
threatening or extorting of any Citizen. Banks or businesses that
loan or sell on credit shall not discriminate, nor punitively vary
charges, interest rates or fees."
and… "Obtaining a lawyer in civil cases is as fundamental to justice
as obtaining a lawyer in criminal cases. No statute of limitation
shall apply to any case in which a plaintiff or defendant diligently
seeks but can't find a lawyer. Upon request to the court, an unbiased
lawyer shall be appointed. In federal cases licensed lawyers from any
state or territory may be used regardless of where the trial takes
place. The right of the People to obtain justice for any criminal or
civil injury is fundamental. Justice departments, law enforcement
agencies, and/or the courts shall be the instruments of justice.
Should such in any way obstruct justice by improper procedure, bias,
or intentional neglect of duty, such persons shall be held as
criminally accountable as anyone else for obstruction of justice—a
felony. Undue delay by a defendant or their counsel in a civil case—
as a defensive tactic—is prohibited, and if present may be considered
as evidence supporting guilt. Causing undue delay of appeals,
similarly, is prohibited."
and… "It's a felony for an attorney to acquiesce to their client's
ongoing violations of this constitution, and/or their criminal
conduct, without censure; or for any reason to conspire to violate, or
violate, another person's civil rights; or to stonewall the easy
resolution of justified complaints by non action, legal shenanigans or
personal bias. Similarly, it's a civil offense for an individual,
group or business to require that a justified plaintiff have an
attorney before moving to make agreeable amends. *** States shall
license no attorney on the payroll or board of another type business,
organization or non-judicial governmental agency; nor one who violates
this constitution; nor one who because of personal bias, fails to
competently defend the civil rights of any Citizen. Incorporation
doesn't protect those in such from personal responsibility for
maliciousness in: harming any person; irremediably harming local or
world environs; or endangering the likely health and safety of local
or world Citizens. A crime's seriousness shall be consistent with the
mores of the People and the apt juries rather than with government.
Judges & justices shall be well mannered, forthright and succinct;
courtrooms aren't their property nor forums for venting their
feelings. A Citizen can sanction a judge or justice in court for
deviating from this constitution or its spirit. Rightful behavior by
any law abiding Citizen is appropriate, implicitly, and no Citizen so
acting shall be subordinate in or to any court, nor be made to defer
to overly drawn-out legal processes or pending rulings."
and… "Local governments shall have 10 or more councilmen or a direct
vote of the People is required to pass ordinances or raise taxes.
Upon request by the Executive or 1/5 of the larger governing body,
federal, state or local law making authority shall defer to the People
on controversial issues where the Will of the People is in doubt. No
law nor previous or subsequent vote on any issue shall usurp the right
of an informed Public to decide controversial issues in direct
referenda; the vote for passage shall be 60%. The apt macro-will of
the People in elections or referenda, as manifested by their votes,
shall take precedence over any contrary existing or subsequent law,
governmental hierarchy or judicial ruling. Because conditions change,
older laws aren't necessarily the Will of the People.
Laws shall be concise and well defined. If—due to brevity,
simplicity or lack of foresight, etc.—such laws have consequences
outside the intended or implied scope, for justice and expediency, a
judge may decree rightful, specific exceptions without new
legislation. Only laws, rules, regulations and procedures that are in
the best interest of the People and the world environment shall be
passed, enacted or enforced, and no business contrary to such shall be
allowed to prosper. No business, organization nor alliance shall use
their auspices to sway the House for selfish gain. No business shall
exist that uses computer invasion to coerce sales or to monitor others—
regardless of any disclaimer or pact. *** There shall be no
discrimination against any law abiding Citizen, business or
organization due to arbitrary categorization. No public nor private
regulation shall require disclosure of a person's stand or vote on any
issue which might cause them discrimination. Laws shall respect the
People's diverse mores without setting arbitrary social standards. No
government shall criminalize behavior that the Public considers to be
innocuous, or is macro-typical, or where government isn't being
deferential to the Public; nor shall they: prosecute victimless crimes
other than gross reckless endangerment; restrict the freedoms of
Citizens through oppressive laws and procedures; enact laws too broad
in scope to address narrow issues; pass laws disallowing any
reasonable criminal defense, or solely at a bureau's request;
selectively or inequitably enforce any laws; impose unfair,
drastically different punishments due to one's sex, race, color, creed
or age; nor sentence someone differently due to their having a prior
criminal record. An arresting officer may reverse such with impunity
at any time, regardless of the forms, procedures or processes begun.
The arrested person shall be freed and the record expunged. Agreeable
restitution to crime victims may, at their option, substitute for the
apt trial."
Folks, now you should understand that treating people FAIRLY, both by
government(s) and by businesses, was a constant objective while I was
writing my New Constitution. You should all ask yourselves: "Do you
want our runaway government to be bridled now, later… or perhaps
never?" Beginning tomorrow, if the treasonous, leftist/socialist
Democratic BASTARDS who keep voting to destroy our capitalist system
will simply be arrested, tried and hanged, our problems as a nation
can finally be solved!
