tenets of our country, that is the right of all religious
organizations to have freedom to practice their religion. We are
about freedom. We are about the rights for all you butt heads to come
in here and say whatever you want about anyone without getting your
balls cut off, getting hung or burning at the stake.
We traipse off to every piss ant country around the globe in defense
of the poor oppressed religious people while sacrificing the lives of
our own countrymen and women in uniform and then we want to oppress
religious people here. I don't get it. Why shouldn't we practice
what we preach.
I understand that we are outraged and antagonized at the idea of the
"location" but the people in question had nothing to do with 9/11; if
there were any substantiated connection these people would be
imprisoned. They are citizens just like us, like blacks, jews,
christians, hindus and the numerous other denomination of people that
make up this country. This isn't going to be easy by any stretch of
the imagination but we have to look at the reality of it, that is we
live in a melting pot. We can't pick on the blacks anymore so is it
the Muslim's turn?
Personally I despise religiosity and think that all religions are more
trouble than they are worth, are responsible for more death and horror
throughout history and are fundamentally not only a nuisance but
inhibit the opportunity for all of us to have a peaceful and happy
life.
There is no evidence of a god and in fact there is more evidence that
there isn't. But that is besides the point, if people want to believe
in tooth fairies and miracles that is their right in this country.
Fact is that many adversarial countries own land here, own real estate
here, own restaurants here and more. There are several Italian and
Mexican restaurants in my city that are owned and operated, including
the wait staff, by Iranians. Are we supposed to punish these people
because their native country is holding our young hikers as
prisoners? If we boycott these places do you think Iran will free
the prisoners?
I don't see anyone complaining about it.
I think we are heading towards some serious internal warfare, civil
warfare, similar to the problems that exist in India. Attacks against
Muslim organizations are already on a roll. Problem? Absolutely,
because there are about 5 to 8 million Muslims living here; if they
all turn against us because we are persecuting them, many problems
will ensue.
Personally I don't give a damn, I'm just going to sit in the bleachers
and watch the show.
