Perry Tries to Hire Paul as Budget Adviser

Perry Tries to Hire Paul as Budget Adviser

There has been much said this election about how the Republican presidential candidates are all talking like Ron Paul. Well, last night, in the midst of yet another Ron Paul impression, Rick Perry couldn't even talk. To make matters worse, Perry looked to Paul to bail him out.

For mercy's sake, perhaps Ron should coach Rick before Saturday night's debate in South Carolina: "Here are federal departments that should be cut… here's why… here's how… now let's look up 'conservative' in the dictionary… good, Rick, good… Now let's take a look at this thing called 'The Constitution'… that's right Rick, it's the charter that outlines the delegated powers of our federal government… that's right Rick, all of the departments we just discussed aren't in it… that's right, it is also the document everyone takes an oath to uphold after election day… why doesn't everyone follow it? That's a good question Rick… but at least you're finally grasping this, good job…"

In fact, Paul should probably be coaching the entire Republican field, none of whom have yet to offer any substantive government cutsparticularly that eliminate specific federal departments.

At least Rick was trying.
