How do you get a rhythm guitarist to play softer?

LOL. Funny, this guitar player heard (and tells) the same joke about
drummers :-)

Have you seen the Planet Fitness ad with a Schwarzegger muscle goof
saying, "I pick things up und put dem down"?

I told my drummer, "I hit thing with sticks, and let dem sound"

He didn't laugh either.

Bottom line is I spent a year in college with a PERCUSSIONIST, and
learned more about how music works than in 6 years of professors
telling me (I got an example if you wish - half note triplet).

Rhythm is God. Melody is the son of god, and harmony serves both.

But...

...On my kids, I don't know what a rhythm guitarist is.

"Do you play rhythm or lead?"

"Yes"

Duh! I play guitar!
