Re: Parade route bomb...more Republitard murder tactics

Terrorist Backpack?
Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Does anyone think this was the work of the FBI?

A backpack found along the route of the Martin Luther King Jr. march in Spokane contained a bomb "capable of inflicting multiple casualties,"  the FBI said Tuesday, describing the case as "domestic terrorism."

Television video on "The Rachel Maddow Show" showed the backpack sitting upright on a metal bench backed by a waist-high brick wall. In the interview with Maddow, Spokesman-Review reporter Clouse said sources told him the device was placed to direct the blast outward toward the marchers.

"The three contract workers in the area who were there are unsung heroes," the FBI spokesman said.

This story has all the usual characteristics for scaremongering: a lone bag in a very visual public place, civilian heroes who noticed it and called police, hero government employees who stopped potential destruction and death, and immediate media attention. As Miss Maddow noted, "some very scary words were used by the FBI" to describe the incident. I really can't believe she made that statement. These simplistic scare tactics and the ensuing media reactions are mind-boggling.
