Further confirming our suspicions of his erratic streak, he delivered a "message" to Cuomo behind the podium. He said his bat was a metaphor for the people. And if Cuomo uses it to help the state, great. Then, Paladino issued a warning. He said, if Cuomo chooses to "leave [the bat] untouched," he runs "the risk of having it wielded against" him.
