According to Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, weak Seasonal Low continues to prevail over Balochistan and adjoining areas.
Yesterday's well marked low pressure over Orissa (India) and adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh (India) has moved north-northwestwards and now lies over northern Madhya Pradesh (India) and adjoining southwest Uttar-Pradesh (India). The weather system is being closely monitored by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The existing meteorological situation in the country as reported by FFD may result into isolated thunderstorm/ rain over Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas, including upper catchment of River Ravi, besides scattered thunderstorm/ rain over upper catchment of River Sutlej during the next 24 hours.
The flood situation in eastern rivers (Ravi & Sutlej) has to be kept under watch as any further rains in the catchment areas of the rivers in India are likely to impact river flows in Sutlej and Ravi in view of the fact that all dams on these Rivers in India are full at this stage.
