Re: Pat Caddell: Romney Campaign Worst in My Lifetime

Kind of like the McCain "I want Obama to be President" campaign.

As much as I hate to say it,  I agree with Caddell......The Romney Campaign needs to attack.  I do think Romney was savvy in the way he has addressed this most recent Arab uprising, and the way that the Obama Administration has failed to deal with it, in it's entirety.  Obviously the Obama Administration has been bothered by Romney's remarks, as his media footsoldiers have been like rabid dogs on Romney ever since.

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is running a poor campaign against a weak incumbent and is losing, longtime Democratic political operative and pollster Pat Caddell said in an appearance on the Fox News web show "Campaign Insiders."

Caddell, who was a pollster for President Jimmy Carter and is now a Fox News contributor, laid into the Romney campaign during the appearance.

"I swear to God, everything we have been saying for months, and I know a lot of the audience doesn't want to hear this, this is the worst campaign in my lifetime," he said, adding, "Obama's fighting for his life, his party is fighting for their life, and they're winning. This is, I've said all along, Romney's election to lose and by God he's losing," reports Real Clear Politics.

Caddell noted that Obama is now at a 50 percent approval rating despite "hundreds of millions of dollars raised and spent by Republican and conservative consultants and organizations." He said they have failed because they have no message.

"I watched Romney yesterday, I swear to God, there is no urgency to this man," he said. "He is running, as I said this morning, bored. … He has no message other than 'I'd like to win and by the way I have a secret formula.' He may still win with this, but not if Obama's at 50 percent approval."
Caddell said he could not say "enough bad things" about Romney's strategists.

"They are incompetent, they believe that you can sit and an election will automatically come to you," he added. "And they don't respond. They never sold Romney with the message that we talked about for months. I'm sorry for the audience out there. It's not that the American people are stupid, your candidate is stupid."
