Friendship in post-modern America

New post on Fellowship of the Minds Friendship in post-modern America by Dr. Eowyn Many's the time I've had someone walking towards me (mostly in stores) while looking intently down at her/his "hand-held device".  No one else exists as s/he peers, texts or scrolls away.  For Pete's sake...I'm already walking so far to the right [hmm] that my hip's almost part of an end-cap feature...and the  O/C ambulating tekkie is about to smack into me!  THAT'S when I sharply say, "Look OUT!"   S/he dang nearly jumps in the air and drops the iWhatever-It-Is...as I smile and continue walking. --Laura B., the Luddite  :) Guest Poster of FOTM Grab a cup of coffee.... Dine at your favorite restaurant.... Spend some time at the museum.... Meet at a popular diner.... Relax at the beach.... Go to a game.... Go out on a date.... Take a drive around town.... Thank God we're part of "the older" generation!
