Re: US tells Canada to sell oil to China

Did the "Green" loonies really think we were going to just sit on such a valuable and important resource?

And it's not just just China that is interested. Japan and India are also potential buyers.

Now we are facing the green fascists trying to stop a pipeline to the west coast. Well funded by foreign interests, including Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Now just why would they want Canada to stop producing oil?

One thing that the anti-pipeline sorts don't seem to understand is that the world runs on oil and will for the foreseeable future.

The only question is. Who do you want to buy it from?

Plainol makes a good point about China buying up as much of the oil sands. But it doesn't stop there. They are looking to their future and securing their supplies around the world.

Just a few years ago PM Harper stepped in and stopped a sale of our largest potash company to China.  Canada has the largest deposits of potash in the world and the Chinese know it. As an aside: Potash is a natural and very effective fertilizer. Much needed to feed a growing population.

State-owned Chinese oil and gas companies already have invested
billions of dollars in Alberta's oilsands
