Re: **JP** Letter to Editor - Karachi Under Army

Salam Col. Sahib, I have made some points on Pakistan's Crisis. I hope u will find interesting.

It has been 64 Years and we are still fighting for our existence. The problems we have faced so far is our Politicians who are and have been so corrupt that they have made common man corrupt too. These politicians have to go, not only go but they have to be punished so severely that new politicians will think twice about corruption. I feel so bad and so Sad when I see common people
are suffering and rich people are taking all the advantages. Enough is Enough.
I have made some points that which I think can solve some issues of our Great Country. And if we stick to our commitment we can rise again as the Greatest Nation in the World.

1) The active Government must resign from all positions immediately.

2) New elections to be held in 90 Days.

3) Those who have served more then twice as MPA's, MNA's, Senators, Ministers, Governors CM's, PM or Presidents shall not be given anymore tickets for re Elections. They have served their country enough.

4) Those who have been charged for corruption must be arrested and to be present in front of an Independent Jury.

5) For all those who have been and will be charge for any crimes they have committed while serving the people of Pakistan their, their relatives properties and internal and overseas Accounts must be seized immediately.

6) All the perishable and non perishable goods which has the shortage in Pakistan must stop their Exports until the internal needs are met.

7) The Currency notes of Pakistan must be reduced to Rs.500 bill.

8) Foreign policy must be revised. Must make stronger relations with Muslim countries and China.

9) Non diplomats must leave country immideatley till internal security is restored.

10) Law enforcement agencies must be given free hands to apprehend the Criminals. They must have all latest state of the arts gadgets to catch criminals. Their salaries and incentives must be revised also to reduce or to finish the corruption in Pakistan law enforcement agencies.

11) Special relief package must be announced for lower class. The new Elected government must also find or create Jobs to reduce the High Employment Rate in Pakistan.

12) Higher taxes for rich people and lower taxes for lower class must be implemented.

13) Education standard must be revised. No child left behind policy must be introduced. Those schools, colleges or Universities do not have a proper campus must be shut down until they have proper campuses and comply with all educational and recreational activities.

14) Defense budget must be reduced to 50%. All the incentives and leisure must be be reduced to 10%.

15) Must find a peace settlement in FATA. Electricity issue must be resolved internally. Find other means to produce electricity.

16) All Government officers must use their own Transportation. Government vehicles can only be used when officiating official business.

17) Medical and Education should be free for Low class. No one is or will above Law.

Pakistan Zindabad, Pakistan Paindabad.

LETTER TO EDITOR

August 20th, 2011

Karachiunder Army

A lot is being said and written for and against calling the army for restoring law and order in Karachi. I am for it.  To my mind de-weaponisation of Karachi is the only answer to stop this wanton killing.  No weapons no killing. There is such a huge number of weapons there that it will not be an easy task to get them all back. I would, therefore, suggest the following sequence of action for the army to collect the weapons:

  1. Impose curfew in the suspected/dangerous areas, completely sealing them off from the rest of the city by shooting at sight to restrict the movement and taking away/shifting of the weapons to other localities.  Strict vigilance be kept that no weapons are sneaked away to other localities during the 'relaxation' time of the curfew.
  2. Allow three days for all to deposit the weapons in the nearest Police Station with proper record of the surrendered weapons maintained under the supervision of army officers. Police cannot be trusted with this responsibility for obvious reasons.  Extensive publicity by all media radio, TV, newspapers, posters and dropping of leaflets, loud speakers etc. be given that no harm will come to those who surrender the licensed or unlicensed  weapons but any one found with a weapon after three days will be killed with the same weapon.

Not all will deposit their weapons. I bet.

  1. After three days house to house search under strict curfew be carried out. There are bound to be a quite a few culprits hiding weapons. Take  three or four of them and shoot them with their own weapons within the seeing and hearing of others. Thereafter, publicise the shooting widely with all means of publicity. Human Rightists, please hold your horses.

  1. Give them another period of three 'grace' days to surrender their weapons once again, making it quite clear to them that this shall be the FINAL warning and ALL those failing to deposit the weapons hereafter SHALL meet the same fate.

ALL weapons will be surrendered. Again I bet it

The entire Karachi will be clean of weapons in a matter of week or so. Now, great care must be taken that no new weapons find their way into Karachi again. There are only a few and known 'in roads' and 'passages' for the smuggling in of such weapons and the police and others know them. The respective Police in charge of the area must be MOST severely and mercilessly dealt with if any firing takes place in his area of responsibility.

Recall the army back to barracks IMMEDIATELY on completion of their task.

Give me the force and free hand, I volunteer to undertake this task.  And, if I fail, I should be guillotined in the city square.
