Commentary: The 10 categories of Obama Hater
As best I can determine, following a careful read of the Hard Left hate blogs and the attendant worshipful comments, there are approximately ten primary categories of Obama Hater, with one bonus. I offer them to you hoping to provoke thought and discussion:
1. The Revengers: They want or wanted a Democratic president who behaved like Mr. Bush, but for progressive causes, meaning not acting with a measure of care, but with the "bull in the china shop" mentality. These folk are extremely upset by Obama's attempts to govern with even a modicum of civility, claiming that arrogance and aggression are the best ways to get the job done.
2. The Hippies: They want absolutely no war and no confrontation whatsoever, regardless of the purpose, the reason, or rationale. The Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts were supposed to be ended immediately following the Obama's inauguration and we weren't supposed to actually help the oppressed Libyan Rebels by using real weapons of war against the oppressive Ghadaffi regime. There has to be a better way than actually hurting bad people and screw the UN.
3. The Unknowing Racist: They are progressive but never really wanted or thought Obama could handle the job. They don't necessarily hate minorities, but can unknowingly hold them to much higher standards.
4. The Professional Lefties: These are the folks who look to profit from or further their careers by stoking anger in the frustrated and naive progressive.
5. The Dull and Ignorant: Those who have absolutely no understanding of the three branches of government and believe that Barack Obama possesses magical powers in the spirit of Harry Potter.
6. The Passive Aggressives: Haters in their own right who can never acknowledge the president's accomplishments because they are too busy hating him and what he doesn't do for them. Universal health care, an impossible to reach goal in 2010, is a good example. It doesn't matter to the Haters that he accomplished something no president has been able to do since FDR, because they cannot see through their blind and intolerant hate of Obama.
7. The Out-of-Towners: Those who don't even live in America (sometimes Canadian and unemployed) who presume to pass judgment on our leaders, while pandering to the Hard Left and stoking the fires of the Obama Hate.
8. The Pious and Principled: These folks think that democrats who don't think like them are "unprincipled and pathetic." Now this is the same group of nutters who complain that the mainstream democrats are wrong to debate the Hard Left viewpoint and dare to actually like Obama. What? Since when is disagreement unprincipled and pathetic?
9. The Obfuscating Haters: Now these guys are the ones who will tell you that Obama is in the pocket of the corporations and Wall Street. They can't tell you why, they just know it in their bones because they hate Obama. What makes matters worse is they blog about it, offering information that is just made from whole cloth and carries not one word of truth.
10. The Real Racists: We hate to admit it, but there are democrats who are racists, and some of them are extreme. They stay in the closet for the most part but from time to time their virulent hate can be seen peeking out from behind their words. These are the ones, and they may be minorities themselves, who are the most dangerous because the Hard Left is easily led by the nose and this sort of false rhetoric feeds into their naivete. If you want proof of this visit an Obama Hater blog and read the lofty but vicious rhetoric and obsequious comments.
The list is not complete of course, but time marches on and life it too short. I will however, leave you with a bonus:
11. The Sky is Falling Gang: These folks blame Obama for the Gulf oil spill because they are convinced that he was and is in collusion with BP and the other big oil companies, with his goal being to destroy the world to make himself uber-rich like Donald Trump. These nutters, including progressive star Dennis Kucinich, said that President of the United States Barack Obama should be combing the beaches of Louisiana picking up oil otherwise life as we know it would end.
Sigh. It's enough to wear you out isn't it?
