English Translation of Al-Quran

[7]. Surah Al-Araaf [The Heights]

Ayat 150. And when Musa (Moses) returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said: "What an evil thing is that which you have done (i.e. worshipping the calf) during my absence. Did you hasten and go ahead as regards the matter of your Lord (you left His worship)?" And he threw down the Tablets and seized his brother by (the hair of) his head and dragged him towards him. Harun (Aaron) said: "O son of my mother! Indeed the people judged me weak and were about to kill me, so make not the enemies rejoice over me, nor put me amongst the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers)."

Hadith الحديث

English Translation of Hadith

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH) passed by a woman who was crying over a grave and said, "Fear Allah and be patient.'' She said, "Away from me! My calamity has not befallen you and you are not aware of it.'' The woman was later told that it was the Prophet   [SAWW](PBUH) (who had advised her). She came to his door where she found no doorkeeper. She said, "(I am sorry) I did not know you.'' Messenger of Allah   [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Patience is (becoming) only at the first (stroke) of grief". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Another narration in Muslim says: The woman was crying over her son.

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Araaf Ayat 150."Did you hasten and go ahead as regards the matter of your Lord" Having children or not having any or losing them by death is all conditions of trail for believers. In presence of them one may struggle educating and training them also economically may have tough time, some may put their life hereafter at stake for their offspring's worldly so called future. In some cases not having a child may cause unthankful attitude or same in case of there death too, in all mention cases one can only be safe if he or she has strong faith in Allah (SWT). As time passes its human nature that if forget the entire calamity it may go through but having stronger faith make it easy from the time it happens. This Hadith indicates the excellence of the Prophet's   [SAWW](PBUH) character. The woman whom he advised to have patience did not behave properly, but the Prophet   [SAWW](PBUH) was neither annoyed nor did he reproach her. When she appeared before him for the second time, he again repeated his advice for patience. This Hadith has a great lesson for those who call people to the Right Path. Our scholars and preachers should follow this excellent example.
