Ignorance Is Bliss to Politicians

Ignorance Is Bliss to Politicians

A Republican congressman, Mike Rogers of Michigan, was playing to the cheap-seats today in advocating capital punishment for those who leak secret documents about American corruption and criminality in Afghanistan.  He regards such as acts of treason that help to "encourage a culture of disclosure" which, in turn, risks the lives of soldiers.  If this fraud were truly interested in safeguarding the lives of soldiers in Afghanistan, why does he not take the lead in calling for an immediate end to this war, and bring the troops home to their families?  No, the "culture of disclosure" that terrifies the congressman and all other members of the warmongering class is that Boobus Americanus will discover what the corporate-state plutocracy is really up to;  and how the political establishment sacrifices the lives of young Americans, as well as foreign nationals, in furtherance of its heinous interests.  What the statists want to protect is not the lives of fungible soldiers, but the cozy racket they continue to enjoy at the expense of those they pretend to represent.  To such ends, the truth must be suppressed; those who would speak it must be silenced.  Let Boobus content himself with the institutionalized ignorance in which the mainstream media specializes.
