U.S. consulate issues warning about fake checkpoints in Mexico

NOGALES, Ariz. - A travel warning has been issued from the U.S. consulate in Mexico after several unconfirmed reports of unauthorized checkpoints.
According to officials, some motorists who didn't stop were shot at and killed.
The area affected is along Highway 8, between the border and Rocky Point.
Motorists are advised to limit travel to major roads during daylight hours and to cooperate if they do come across an unofficial checkpoint.
