Subject: Majors about half way there
A really good petitioning weekend.
Majors now to 1400 signatures of 3000
Johnson at 750 of 4667
Since we just started drive in earnest last Monday, 8 days ago, with many volunteers and some paid people coming on then, if we can maintain or increase current rate we will make it. At some point we will have to shift to concentrating on Johnson signatures alone.
It seems more people are committed to a presidential choice already and do not want to allow anyone else on ballot.
We are tentatively planning another fundraiser next week at the Codmother at 13th and U Streets NW as a halfway celebration. Maybe on Wednesday with a "hump" day half way there theme. Details to follow .

I am thinking once I approach 3000 I am going to campaign in earnest, and begin door to door canvassing, knocking on doors to ask for signatures and passing out a campaign brochure or card. My plans are to begin in DuPont, Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant, Shaw, Logan Circle, Columbia Heights, followed by Georgetown, Burleith, Foxhall Village, Palisades and Glover Park. But if you want me to do your neighborhood or want to come with me in any neighborhood I will be happy to meet your friends or neighbors.
