Fwd: Bruce Majors for Congress:The uselessness of DC's political class

The uselessness of DC's political class

Area list serves are full of posts about how no one has seen Mayor Gray, Delegate Norton or others, as 68,000 DC residents, over 10 per cent of the city, are without power. If you go to OpenSecrets.org you will find PEPCO among the top 20 donors for many of these folks. This recurring DC problem could have been taken care of in part by simply removing old, dead, and overgrown trees. Maybe some of the embezzled DC funds could have done that. Meanwhile, libertarian activist and wit Kelly O'Keefe, whose parents I knew before she was born, posted this yesterday: "for those of you who may have heard that DC is experiencing widespread power outages, I wanted to let you know that unfortunately, those news reports are false. Vast amounts of unyielding centralized power still exist all across DC, from the White House, to the Supreme Court, to the Capitol, to K Street, to the wide range of bureaucratic offices that, while temporarily lacking operative EPA-approved compact fluorescent light bulbs and Justice Department sanctioned paper shredders, still possess the power to plan your life."
