ZoNation: The Nanny State's Public Enemy #1: Plastic Bags

by Sard

When I was a kid, in the early 70's, I lived in Los Angeles, California. I remember well the environmentalists of the day on the news crying about how we had to get rid of paper bags at the grocery stores; it was "killing too many trees." So everything went to plastic. Now, the same boneheads want us to go back to paper bags.

The insanity of the Left is not so much insanity--which surely exists on the Left--but rather a purposeful assault on progress and productivity. That's why the Left calls it "progress." It's really anything but progress. Productivity itself implies some sort of morality--meaning, to be productive and put something back into the stream of life, instead of always taking. Naturally, a dyed-in-the-wool leftist would eschew it, as would Karl Marx et al.

See, in my opinion, "progress" to a liberal means progressing away from anything relating to America, i.e. God, the Constitution, traditions, justice, personal responsibility, the family, etc. That's what "progress" means to a leftist radical (i.e. "domestic enemy").
