David Friedman will receive Sovereign Award in 2012

Libertopia is pleased to announce that one of the two recipients of the Sovereign Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2012 will be economist, physicist, legal scholar, and market anarchist theorist, Dr. David D. Friedman, author of the seminal book, Machinery of Freedom. He is also the author of Price Theory: An Intermediate Text (1986), Law's Order: What Economics Has to Do with Law and Why It Matters (2000), Hidden Order: The Economics of Everyday Life (1996), and Future Imperfect (2008) Dr. Friedman is a professor of law at Santa Clara University, and a contributing editor for Liberty magazine.

A Breach of Contract

We have added another article by Butler Shaffer, first published on LewRockwell.com, to our Articles page. For anyone who has ever been told that government is a legitimate authority because of the "social contract," this will provide the intellectual ammo to completely refute that silly idea.

Book Early

The best way to get the most out of Libertopia is to stay at the hotel so you don't miss any opportunities to meet like-minded people. From the start of registration at 5pm Thursday to the goodbyes at 4pm Sunday, the weekend will be packed with activities. Humphrey's is once again giving us a great deal on their resort hotel, only $114 a night if you use our special reservation link.
