3-D tour of Egypt’s pyramids!

3-D tour of Egypt's pyramids!

by Dr. Eowyn

Sphinx and the Great Pyramid at Giza

My (and my husband's) professional travels have taken us to 15 countries in 5 continents (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America). The cities I found most beautiful were Jerusalem (the Old City) and Washington, D.C.

But if I had to recommend just one country for everyone's "bucket list," it would be Egypt.

Just looking at photos and movies of the pyramids at Giza outside Cairo, and the colossal statues of pharaohs at the Temple of Karnak in Luxor, doesn't even begin to convey their size and grandeur. You have to be there to feel and see it with your own eyes.

Short of being there, a 3-D virtual tour of the pyramids is the next best thing.

Harvard University and Dassault Systems have created a virtual tour of the Giza pyramids. You will, however, need to install the 3D Life Player from the website.

Enjoy!
