Re: Ron Paul

You would have to click around on the link that I sent, but let's review:

There has never been a dime's worth of difference between Paul and Gingrich, when it comes to Paul's fiscal arguments.  Gingrich has been calling for an audit of the federal reserve for years.  Just last month,  Gingrich, for the first time,  started arguing (and even posted Porter Standsberry's video, which I posted here in PF)  regarding the United States reverting back to a Gold Standard,  (and of which, I have argued against for years, but openly admit that I am now considering that such a move,  because of our debt to China, makes sense).

Paul supported Gingrich back about ten or twelve years ago, when Gingrich was opposed to the U.S.'s involvement with the World Trade Organization, and Paul even supports Gingrich's abhorence of our Nation's relationship and transfer of power to this entity even today.

Just within February and March,  Gingrich has been, "Re-Thinking"  his policies toward Afghanistan:

I can't find any quote from Paul that qualifies his third party commitment beyond the
convention in Tampa.

Of course Pauls ideals are being copied by the other candidates... his are the only ones that actually separate the conservatives from the moonbats. Without his idea(l)s all we would have running would be at best a beige version of Obama...and unfortunately that includes the Newt.

Keith, Just read your comparisons between Paul and Gingrich... they are very similar but for very different core reasons... these reasons are what truly count as the liklihood of being swayed or compromised are almost nil with Paul...with Newt it would simply become something more to compamise about..

Paul has made it clear that he will not run as a third party candidate, and that his intent is to gather as much support (and delegates) in order to sway the Republican Party Platform come September here in Tampa.

Paul's candidacy has influenced each and every candidate to date.  There is not a lot of difference between Gingrich and Paul now.  As a matter of fact,  Gingrich's foreign policy is becoming more and more "Paulish" each and every day.

There is no question that Romney has been influenced and swayed,  there has been some "behind the doors"  talk and discussion, as the two camps have worked in unison together since the beginning of the debates.

In my opinion,  where Paul,  (and Romney) really screwed up,  (and especially those loud vocal celebrity supporters who fell into camp)  was their attacks on other conservatives.   This was a big "No-No"  and this act will cost them with fellow conservatives......Hopefully they can reunify the Republican Party come September.

Paul?  As I have said for years,  he will make a great Secretary of Treasury, which is where I think he is destined.

I have been thinking about Ron Pauls candidacy. He is doing it better
than the others... He polls as on of the two that could/would possibly/
probably beat Obama if he is nominated for President.

The left "trusts" him more than any other candidate meaning he is more
likely than any other to pick up the disillusioned Dem and independent
voters.

He has a large Republican following that are well entrenched and
unwavering.

All of the Libertarians will vote for him.

There is an Independent party that is filing for an "unknown" third
party candidate as we speak in all 50 states. Paul is one of their top
candidates.

He has carefully sidestepped the question of running as a third party
candidate.

If Paul does run as an independent no Republican can be elected. Far
too much of the base would be lost to Paul.

If Paul keeps his word and "sees this through to the end" (and I think
he will) it won't matter who the Republicans nominate at this time
because Jesus is not available....

It is time the GOP woke up.... I think they have been outfoxed.
