**JP** Re: [pakistanpress] Re: Letter to Editor - God Save the Leader

What do the campaigning politicians in the US and most of the West do?  Do the same here -  addressing people on TV, in big halls and meeting their voters by going from door to door.

Giving the example of Schools and markets etc., please work out yourself the ratio of the attacks taking place upon those places vis-a-vis the political rallies. And by the way, how well are the schools guarded now a days?  Can the political parties ensure that kind of security for their masses?  If they can't they MUST not expose them to the danger as well.

There is no question of succumbing to Jihadis (trained by the army as you are so fond of calling them) but it is just common sense and self protection.  No need to be fool hardy.  Why do you close and when needed bolt the doors of your house?  Are you succumbing to the thiefs and the robbers? As simple as that.

Jafri Sb,
They are politicians and they are supposed to be with and close to the people. It is a very basic requirement of their job. Following your logic, would you also recommend that: children should stop going to the schools because schools are attacked; people should stop going to the markets because bomb blasts can take place, .....No Sir, that would be like succumbing to the Army/ISI-trained "Jehadi" terrorists....

Dear Jamal Sahib:

Agreed, I was being sarcastic but that was out of spite for the leaders who get the naive innocent killed just for their glorification. For example, did BB not know it that in October 2007 the rally she was leading in Karachi would proceed at  snail's pace and cover the distance from airport to Mizar e Quaid - in 10 to 12 hours and that too at night?  Would such a procession not  provide the terrorists with an ideal target and with the time and space of the attack of their own choosing?  She had been warned against it by all and sundry and that's why a bullet proof fortress of a truck was built for her personal safety alone.  Any stupid person would have anticipated the attack and she was much more intelligent than any one else to have known of the danger.  Then WHY in God's name WHY did she insist upon the rally and get around 150 people killed.  150 families deprived of their bread earners.  Do such leaders have even an iota of concern for the lives of their followers?  Why can't they address them over the TV etc. instead of exposing them to the naked dangers and get them killed.

Now, please do not tell me that she also got killed in the same process.  No, Sir, had she stayed inside the vehicle nothing would have happened to her as all those inside the bullet proof Land Rover remained unhurt.  It should be interesting to find out who asked her to stand up in the open cupola which resulted in her death.

Col Sahib.
 Assalam-o-Alaikum.
I think your favourite leader the former commando President is not able to address a public rally of even a thousand people, thats why you are passing such sarcastic remarks about others. And to make my position clear I don't belong to any party but am replying only because your sarcastic remarks about a former Major ( Aftab Khan Sherpao) seems to be in bad taste.

Jamal Khan

Dear Jamal Khan

LETTER TO EDITOR
March 3rd, 2012

God Save the Leader

A suicide bomber struck near a car carrying the Chairman PPP (SP Group) Aftab Khan Sherpao and his leader-in-the-making son Sikandar Khan Sherpao, who were leaving after addressing a rally in Shabqadar, KPK. God saved the leaders though a number of their followers including 4 Policemen were injured one of whom succumbed to the injuries. More injured may also meet their Maker but thank Almighty Allah (SWT) that our leaders are safe with only some dust from the blast on their august faces and clothes.  It is really gratifying and merciful of the Lord that our leaders – with the exception of the BB – always escape death otherwise, God forbid what would become of us wretched mortals and of Pakistan without them?!  I hope our dear leaders won't be deterred from such blasts on the most likely targets that they present to the terrorists by collecting thousands at one place and not resort to addressing the people over TV channels. We beseech them to keep addressing the rallies in greater and greater numbers to outdo each other in proving their popularity and superiority of numbers of their followers and  what does it matter,  If a few good-for-nothing miserable ones are blown in the process?  Who cares?!
