Pakistan to opt joint or US operation to hunt Mullah Omer, Zawahiri: Munter

Karachi: Pakistan will decide either the US should launch a unilateral action against Taliban's supreme leader Mullah Omer and al-Qaeda's leader doctor Aiman Al-Zawahiri or a joint operation if the duo's presence in Pakistan reveals, said US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter in an interview, to be aired today, with a private television.

Our friends in Pakistan are committed to eliminate terrorists and they will have to decide either the US will take unilateral or a joint action , Munter said on being asked whether the US would launch solo operation as it did in Abbottabad that led to killing of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, if it received reports of Mullah Omer and Zawahiri's presence in Pakistan.
