Egypt's army opens fire on protesters, two killed 18 injured


Cairo: Egypt army on Saturday opened fired on the protesters demanding former president Hosni Mubarak's trial for alleged corruption at Cairo's Tehrir Square, killing at least two and injuring another 18.

Hundreds of protesters have taken to Cairo's iconic Tahrir Square, hours after security forces attempted to disperse them.

By 7am (local time) on Saturday morning, army and central security troops appeared to have withdrawn; leaving the square to protesters who set vehicles on fire and began setting up barricades made of furniture and left-behind barbed wire.
