Philip Alston, the United Nations' Special Rapporteur on
extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions. The subject: the U.S.
government's use of drone missiles for targeted killing.
It takes astonishing mental fortitude to maintain an objective,
neutral stance regarding the legal issues involved in targeted
killing, yet Philip clearly articulates what's legal about them, under
current international law, and what's not.
