Sambo's Gulf Oil Spill

Insurance companies might not offer bonds since this is unowned property.

The real questions are:

1) why are we outlawing energy production (nuclear plants, drilling on land) and forcing drilling 5000 feet below sea level?  Since Obama and pseudo-environmentalist statist in the Demwit party did this they are culpable for what happened.

2) why did Obama take 18 months and spend trillions without thinking that green jobs might include having American manufacturers produce oil containment and clean up equipment?  Again, our little sambo is shown to be a product of affirmative action, promoted far above his level of competence.

I have this quaint idea. How about if those who wish to
drill for oil, must put up a bond, for the maximum cost of
cleaning up the worst spill. I suppose it would usually be
provided by an insurance company. There would be no limit on
liability. Perhaps a fine should be included in the total
cost of an accident they must cover, just in case.

Such a plan, not unlike what we ordinary responsible
citizens must do to endanger the public safety and
environment by driving a car, is not just basic
accountability, but proper incentive. With a huge bond in
the balance, drillers will apply a full measure of caution,
consider all risks, have contingency plans, and will put
full effort into minimizing the impact should an accident
occur.

The reality is of course, government has limited their
liability, just as they always did in the case of nuclear
power stations.
