PRICE CONTROL
Only about a month ago a shaving cream cost me Rs. 34/= whereas now its price is Rs. 50/= The prices of all commodities and products have increased many fold during the past few months and the trend continues to remain so. There seems to be no check on the price escalation and the producers and the manufacturers just increase the price arbitrarily whenever they wish. I think it is high time that the government imposed Price Control in the country or else a major segment of the population would be deprived of the two morsels that they can hardly eek out for their families in these days of hardship and inflation.
Note: Only passing of the bill by the parliament would not suffice. The Price Control would have to be enforced strictly in letter and spirit.
