Twenty-eight children lost their fathers as a result of the Israeli attack on the Freedom Flotilla. Nine people were shot dead on May 31 by Israeli soldiers who attacked the Turkish vessel M.V. Mavi Marmara as it attempted to transport humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip. Eight of them were fathers whose children are now yatims due to the Israeli assault on the Freedom Flotilla. The Arabic word yatim is usually translated as orphan. However, in the Islamic religion, the word yatim actually means a child whose father is dead or whose father and mother are dead. This is the reason why Islamic media outlets are calling the children orphans. Following are brief biographies of the nine people, as reported by Lawrenceofcyberia.blogs.com: 1. Ibrahim Bilgen Ibrahim Bilgen, 61, was an electrical engineer from Siirt. He was a member of the Chamber of Electrical Engineers of Turkey. He ran as a Saadet (Felicity) Party candidate in the Turkish general election of 2007 and the Siirt mayoral election of 2009. He was married with 6 children. 2. Ali Haydar Bengi Ali Haydar Bengi, 39, ran a telephone repair shop in Diyarbakir. He was a graduate of Al-Azhar University, Cairo (Department of Arabic Literature). He was married to Saniye Bengi and had four children — Mehunur (15), Semanur (10), and twins Mohammed and Senanur (5). 3. Cevdet Kiliçlar Cevdet Kiliçlar, 38, was from Kayseri. He was a graduate of Marmara University's Faculty of Communications and formerly a newspaper journalist for the National Gazette and the Anatolia Times. For the past year, he was a reporter and webmaster for the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH). He was married to Derya Kiliçlar, and had one daughter, Gülhan, and one son, Erdem. 4. Cetin Topçuoglu Cetin Topçuoglu, 54, was from Adana. He was a former amateur soccer player and taekwondo champion who coached Turkey's national taekwondo team. He was married and had one son, Aytek. His wife, Cigdem Topçuoglu, was also aboard the Mavi Marmara, but survived. 5. Necdet Yildirim Necdet Yildirim, 32, was an IHH aid worker from Malatya. He was married to Refika Yildirim and had one daughter, Melek, aged three. 6. Fahri Yaldiz Fahri Yaldiz, 43, was a firefighter who worked for the Municipality of Adiyaman. He was married and had four sons. 7. Cengiz Songür Cengiz Songür, 47, was from Izmir. He was married to Nurcan Songür and had six daughters and one son. 8. Cengiz Akyüz Cengiz Akyüz, 41, was from Iskenderun. He was married to Nimet Akyüz and had three children — Furkan (14), Beyza (12), and Erva Kardelen (nine). 9. Furkan Dogan Furkan Dogan, 19, was in his senior year at Kayseri High School, where he was awaiting the results of his university entrance exams. He had hoped to become a doctor and loved chess. He was the son of Dr. Ahmet Dogan, an associate professor at Erciyes University. He was a Turkish-American dual national with two siblings. The Israeli military attacked the Freedom Flotilla in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea early on May 31, killing nine Turkish citizens on board the six ships and injuring about 50 other people. The fate of three other Freedom Flotilla activists is still unknown. Israel also arrested nearly 700 activists from 42 countries on board the Freedom Flotilla, which was attempting to break the siege of Gaza in order to deliver 10,000 tons of humanitarian assistance to the long-suffering people of the territory. The Israeli troops also put immense psychological pressure on the activists of the Freedom Flotilla, the Turkish daily Today's Zaman quoted Simsek as saying in an article published on Saturday. Simsek said they expected some harassment from the Israeli forces but did not expect an armed attack. He went on to say that he witnessed that the person who waived the white flag to surrender was shot by the Israeli troops. Erol Demir, another activist who was on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara, said there is film footage of the chaos and the carnage on the ship and stated that the footage will show the real face of the Israeli military to the entire world. "They even shot those who surrendered. Many of our friends saw this. They told me that there were handcuffed people who were shot," he added. Hakan Albayrak, a journalist from the Turkish daily Yeni Safak who was also on the ship, said, "It was an outright massacre what Israel did out there. They attacked us in international waters… We had no weapons. I think we lost more people." In this clip from FYI the science is explained a little better. It seems that a giant plug of solid rock has been holding back the giant magma flow underneath Yellowstone. If it dislodges the plume would destroy everything within 100 square miles and the ash cloud could cause nuclear winter around the globe.
So when the film comes out, just remember... it's only a movie!

An Army "investigating officer" has banished evidence about the controversy over President Obama's eligibility – or lack thereof – to be commander-in-chief from a pending hearing for a career military doctor who announced he is refusing orders until Obama documents his constitutional status.
"In my view our constitutional jurisprudence allows Congress alone, and not a military judicial body, to put the president's credentials on trial," wrote Daniel J. Driscoll in a memorandum determining what evidence the defense for Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin will be allowed to explore at next week'shearing.
"It is my opinion the discovery items pertaining to the president's credentials are not relevant to the proof of any element of the charges and specifications set forth in the charge sheet," he continued. "Consequently I will not examine the documents or witnesses pertinent to the president or his credentials to hold office."
The ruling came prior to a scheduled Article 32 hearing for Lakin, who posted a video inviting his own court hearing because of the status of the president and questions over whether his eligibility means orders given under his control would be invalid.
Lakin is not the first officer to raise questions. Others have included Army doctor Capt. Connie Rhodes and Army reservist Maj. Stefan Cook. But Lakin is the first active-duty officer to raise the question.
And in at least one of the earlier disputes, the Army simply canceled the orders rather than allow the argument to come to a head.
But now the Army has scheduled Lakin's Article 32 hearing – a military version of a preliminary hearing – for June 11.
Word about the ruling from Driscoll came from the American Patriot Foundation, which operates the Safeguard Our Constitution website which is generating support for Lakin.

While Driscoll cited "Rule for Courts-Martial 405" which allows "the production of witnesses 'whose testimony would be relevant…'" he said questions about Obama'seligibility – which could bear on the validity of military orders – will be ignored.
Driscoll then blamed the defense for not giving him what he wanted.
"I expressly instructed '[y]our submissions, if any, on the subject of lawfulness of orders, derivation of authority, political questions and the like should be sufficiently scholarly to allow me to make an informed determination of relevance of the requested items to the truth of the specifications and charges at issue," Driscoll wrote.
"The defense submitted a memorandum outlining the concept of chain of command, showing that the president is at the top of the chain, showing that the Constitution requires the president to be a natural born citizen and stating that soldiers must disobey 'illegal orders,'" Driscoll continued. "There is no scholarly discussion of what constitutes an illegal order or under what circumstances such an order can be disobeyed or must be disobeyed."
Instead, he said, the "law of lawfulness of orders" should prevail.
The result is that he denied defense requests for Obama's Punahou school records, Hawaii Health Department records, Occidental College records, Columbia records and Harvard records.
He also rejected a request that Obama be called to answer questions about his eligibility.
Driscoll said those who have custody of Obama's records – several Hawaii and various school officials – also will not be allowed to testify.
Driscoll declined to respond to a WND request to comment on his ruling.
But Lakin said the result "makes it impossible for me to have a fair hearing."
"I cannot even raise the issue of the president's eligibility, on the grounds that my position has 'no basis in law,'" he said.
Lakin, who previously has served in Afghanistan, refused orders this spring to go again, "because the president refuses – even in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary – to prove hiseligibility under the Constitution to hold office."
Lakin's hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. in Room 134 of Building T-2 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. It is open to the public.
It was Lakin's stance that convinced CNN, which had ignored or ridiculed the issue for months, to give it a prime time focus recently.
Lakin's advisers, however, told WND he will have an opportunity to raise the question again later during a court-martial process, once the Article 32hearing is over.
Lakin and his attorney, Paul Rolf Jensen, appeared on Anderson Cooper's program and sparred with the commentator about the facts related to Obama's eligibility for the presidency.
The Constitution requires a president to be a "natural born citizen," and while the term is not defined in the Constitution, many legal analysts believe at the time it was written it meant a person born in the U.S. of two U.S. citizen parents. Critics say Obama clearly does not qualify under that definition, since he has admitted in his book his father never was a U.S. citizen. Some legal challenges have argued he wasn't even born in Hawaii.
Formally, Lakin is accused of "through design" missing "the movement of US Airways Flight Number 1123, departing from Baltimore/Washington International Airport arriving in Charlotte, North Carolina, in order to deploy for a Temporary Change of Station in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 32nd Calvary (sic) Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, with which he was required in the course of duty to move."
The second charge accuses Lakin of failing to report "to the office of his Brigade Commander, Colonel Gordon R. Roberts, at 1345 hours, or words to that effect, an order which it was his duty to obey."
The SafeguardOurConstitution website explained the first charge, "missing movement," is a serious crime in the nature of a felony. The second is "disobeying a direct order" and includes four specifications.
"Any soldier convicted on all charges and specifications would expect to be sentenced to years at 'hard labor' in the penitentiary," the site said.

Jensen, in an earlier interview on the G. Gordon Liddy radio program, suggested that he would pursue information through "subpoenas and depositions under the rules that are prescribed."
"Every criminal defendant has to be allowed the benefit of doubt to discover information relevant or which may even lead to the discovery of relevant information that could support his case," Jensen said.
"It would be shocking to me that a defendant ... would not be permitted to discover information that would lend itself to proving his [case]," he said at the time.
The discovery issue previously was raised in court by attorney John Hemenway, who was threatened by a federal judge with sanctions for bringing a court challenge to Obama's presidency.
Hemenway is serving in emeritus status with the Safeguard Our Constitution website. He brought the previous court challenge on behalf of a retired military officer, Gregory S. Hollister, who questioned Obama's eligibility.
The Hollister case ultimately was dismissed by Judge James Robertson, who notably ruled during the 2008 election campaign that the federal legal dispute had been "twittered" and, therefore, resolved.
Robertson sarcastically wrote: "The plaintiff says that he is a retired Air Force colonel who continues to owe fealty to his commander in chief (because he might possibly be recalled to duty) and who is tortured by uncertainty as to whether he would have to obey orders from Barack Obama because it has not been proven – to the colonel's satisfaction – that Mr. Obama is a native-born American citizen, qualified under the Constitution to be president.
"The issue of the president's citizenship was raised, vetted, blogged, texted, twittered, and otherwise massaged by America's vigilant citizenry during Mr. Obama's two-yearcampaign for the presidency, but this plaintiff wants it resolved by a court," Robertson wrote.
Then the judge suggested sanctions against Hemenway for bringing the case. Hemenway responded that the process then would provide him with a right to a discovery hearing to see documentation regarding the judge's statements – not supported by any evidence introduced into the case – that Obama was properly "vetted."
Hemenway warned at the time, "If the court persists in pressing Rule 11 procedures against Hemenway, then Hemenway should be allowed all of the discovery pertinent to the procedures as court precedents have permitted in the past.
"The court has referred to a number of facts outside of the record of this particular case and, therefore, the undersigned is particularly entitled to a hearing to get the truth of those matters into the record. This may require the court to authorize some discovery," Hemenway said.
The court ultimately backed off its threat of sanctions.
WND columnist Vox Day earlier wrote about this very scenario, calling it a "get out of war free" card.
The comments followed the case of a reservist who challenged the legality of his deployment orders under Obama. The orders later were canceled by the government.

"Rather than contesting the suit," Day wrote, "the Army took the highly peculiar step of revoking the major's deployment order, suggesting that the Pentagon generals are not entirely confident that they can demonstrate the legitimacy of their purported commander in chief."
Obama's actual response to those who question his eligibility to be president under the Constitution's requirement that the U.S. president be a "natural born citizen" has been to dispatch both private and tax-funded attorneys to prevent anyone from gaining access to his documentation.
The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."
WND has covered a multitude of challenges and lawsuits over the issue. Some have alleged that he was not born in Hawaii in 1961 as he has written, or that the framers of the Constitution specifically excluded dual citizens – Obama's father was a subject of the British crown at Obama's birth – from being eligible for the office.
Lakin earlier released a copy of a letter he sent to Obama saying, "The burden of proof must rest with you."
The letter, posted at the Safeguard Our Constitution website, describes how Lakin tried through his chain of command and his congressional office to get answers to questions about Obama's eligibility.
Besides Obama's actual birth documentation, the still-concealed documentation for him includes kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

BUSAN South Korea (Reuters) - Leading policymakers spoke with unusual frankness on Friday of their fears that the euro zone's financial and banking woes could derail the global economic recovery.
The troubles of Greece and other heavily indebted European governments dominated conversations among finance ministers of the Group of 20 leading economies meeting in the southern port city of Busan, officials said.
"It is essential to ensure continued recovery that Europe fix its banks. It is essential that certain vulnerable European nations follow through with major fiscal consolidation, and get the job done," Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty told reporters.
Gatherings such as the G20 are typically a stage for ministers to radiate confidence, especially when financial markets are in a nervous state, as they are now.
But Flaherty was not alone in his warnings.
"We can't afford to be complacent," South Korean Finance Minister Yoon Jeung-hyun told the opening session.
"Without further and ongoing action from us, the recovery may not remain on track and we may not be able to achieve strong, sustainable and balanced growth," he said.
South African Planning Minister Trevor Manuel said he could not think of a more challenging time than the present for the Group of 20, which includes major emerging economies as well as the richest industrial nations. Decisions needed taking, he said, to banish the specter of a double-dip recession.
"It's important that we all understand just how fragile the recovery is," Manuel, himself a former finance minister, said.
As ministers got down to work, police boats patrolled near the beach hotel where they are meeting. Authorities have steeped up security in response to war-like rhetoric on the divided peninsula after the South accused North Korea of sinking one of its warships.
BALANCING ACT
French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said the trick for the G20 was to staunch red ink in their public finances without squeezing the life out of the nascent recovery.
"We spoke a lot about growth and the compatibility of this growth with necessary budgetary consolidation, especially in developed countries and not only in Europe," she told reporters.
Washington is pressing Germany, whose deficit is relatively modest by EU standards, not to undermine aggregate demand in the euro zone by ending its pro-growth policies prematurely.
But a senior German official said Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble would announce that Berlin, under pressure from fiscally conservative voters to cut its deficit, would start unwinding its anti-crisis stimulus outlays from 2011.
The debate over how quickly to rein in deficit spending has gained urgency since the 16-nation euro zone agreed to a 110 billion euro rescue for Greece after Athens lost the confidence of bond markets and was unable to roll over its vast debts.
The euro zone, working with the International Monetary Fund, is also putting together a 750 billion euro ($910 billion) safety net for other member countries with big debts in case they too fail to find buyers for their bonds. A forced debt restructuring would inflict heavy losses on euro zone banks.
Investors first responded enthusiastically to the May rescue package, but the euro has since slumped to a four-year low against the dollar on doubts about the capacity of euro zone states to plug holes in their budgets.
World stock markets have shuddered at the prospect that Europe's difficulties could derail a recovery from the deepest financial crisis since the 1930s.
But U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner sounded a more optimistic note.
"The world economy came into this period of concern about Europe with stronger underlying momentum and growth than many people expected, and we're in a much stronger position to get through this," Geithner told CNBC television en route to Busan.
BANKING STALEMATE
On the other main item on the Busan agenda, how to reform global banks to reduce the risk of another crisis, Canada's Flaherty said tough new global capital rules would be phased in over a longer time than originally planned.
In a sign that intense lobbying by banks for more time is paying off, Flaherty said: "Implementation is a variable. Some would like a shorter period, some would like a longer period. I think that can be worked out over time."
A related proposal for a global levy on banks to pay for any future bailout was foundering on fierce opposition from Canada, among others.
Instead, ministers will work on a menu of options for their political leaders to endorse at a summit in Toronto at the end of the month. If all goes according to plan, they would then make more specific commitments at another summit in Seoul in November.
"Different countries' banking sectors are in different situations. So there won't be a one-size-fits-all policy," said Sakong Il, a senior South Korean official.

In his parliamentary address Erdogan accused Israel of a "bloody massacre" as he described Israel's raid on a flotilla, including a Turkish ship, carrying relief supplies to blockaded Gaza.
"We see clear murder taking place, and we see an aggressive country," Erdogan said criticizing Israel and warning not to test his country's patience. He said: "Turkey's hostility was as strong as its friendship is valuable."

A top Iranian military commander has said that Iran is preparing to hold a massive aerial maneuver in coming months.
Deputy Air Force Commander, Mohsen Darrehbaghi, said Thursday that the country will put to the test a new set of advanced air-to-ground weaponry and gunnery equipment.
"All Iranian aircraft and warplanes will take part in the military exercise, including the F-4, F-5, F-7 and the Sukhoi SU-24 fighter jets," said Darrehbaghi in an address to the female staff of the Iranian Air Force.
He added that the Mirage F-1 fighter jets have been "fully refurbished and upgraded" by Iranian Air Force personnel and are therefore ready for trial.
"Our Mirage fighters are fully equipped with domestic air-to-ground weaponry, including advanced machine rifles and rocket launchers, all of which will be tested during the exercise," said the Iranian commander.
He said that Iran's success in refurbishing the Mirage fighters prove more than ever that international sanctions will never stop the country from improving its military skills.
Darrebaghi went on to describe recently-issued threats by Tel Aviv officials as "most amusing."
"Israel is of no importance whatsoever," he noted.
"We have managed to rise to the challenge of those far stronger and bigger than Israel… If they dare assault us, they will be crushed by our response."
Referring to Israel's deadly commando attack on the Gaza-bound aid convoy, the Iranian commander said Israel "lacks the guts" to attack Tehran and has clearly shown that is only capable of "killing a few defenseless civilians."
On Monday, commandos acting upon direct orders from Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak stormed the aid convoy, leaving around 20 dead and more than 50 injured.
The attack and the lack of sufficient response from international organizations drew instant condemnation all over the world.

A survey of the natural gas field off the shore of Haifa is to be released Thursday evening in the United States. According to the Globes financial journal, the field has been discovered to be even larger than previously thought.
The field's estimated size has grown several times as more surveys are conducted. In mid-2009, Yitzchak Teshuva, controlling shareholder who invested in developing the field, originally said the gas reserves could allow Israel to be self-sufficient in energy for two decades, but now it seems that this was a conservative estimate.
Teshuva said Thursday, "The results indicate that in addition to the gas, there are signs of oil at a greater depth. We have turned Israel into a great energy power. Today is a holiday for every citizen of Israel. It's a day of joy," He proceeded to say the Shehecheyanu blessing for new and happy tidings.

The Rabbinical Council of Judea and Samaria issued a statement Thursday in which it said that the results of the incident in which Israel intercepted a flotilla trying to break the naval blockade of Gaza seem like the Biblical description of "the beginning of the Gog and Magog process where the world is against us, but which ends with the third and final redemption."
The statement explained that while secular Zionism always wants Israel to be beloved by other nations, "the legitimacy of our people is not derived from the nations of the world and their poisonous traditions, rather from the Torah of Israel which teaches us that [Israel] 'is a people that shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations'" (Numbers 23:9). They emphasized that there is no reason to be alarmed by the world's condemnation as it is a predicted result of fear of Israel's success.
The Council blessed the soldiers of the IDF and called for the formation of an emergency unity government that will lead the nation from a position of strength.
The Council was formed by Rabbi Zalman Melamed of Beit El and includes leading religious Zionist rabbis who are the spiritual leaders of communities in Judea and Samaria.
'Gog and Magog' is a reference is to chapters 38 and 39 in the book of Ezekiel, a part of which is read on the intermediate Sabbath of Sukkot (Tabernacles). These chapters describe a vision of a war where the world is united against Israel that will precede the final redemption of Israel and the world. The prophecy's symbolism involves a prince called Gog of Magog, leader of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, who leads a coalition that includes Persia (Iran), Cush, Phut, Gomer, and Beit Togarmah against Israel. There are various opinions regarding the modern identity of these nations.
As a sampling of passages from Ezekiel 39 shows, the prophesy predicts that the coalition will be defeated by Israel, at a time following Israel's gathering from its exile:
And thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say: Thus saith the Lord G-d: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; and I will turn thee about and lead thee on, and will cause thee to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel; and I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Jerusalem police will restrict Muslim worship on the Temple Mount on Friday to men over the age of 40 in the wake of unrest generated by the interception of the Gaza-bound flotilla on Monday.
Muslim violence at the site is usually attributed to younger Muslims.

These and other questions will be addressed more fully as you go through this website. However, there is a preliminary historical fact that must be established now. There has never been a civilization or a nation referred to as "Palestine" and the very notion of a "Palestinian Arab nation" having ancient attachments to the Holy Land going back to time immemorial is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated upon the world! There is not, nor has there ever been, a distinct "Palestinian" culture or language. Further, there has never been a Palestinian state governed BY Arab Palestinians in history, nor was there ever a serious Arab-Palestinian national movement until 1964… three years BEFORE the Arabs of "Palestine" lost the "West Bank" and Gaza as a result of losing the 1967 Six-Day War (which the Arabs started).
Before the 1967 war, the Palestine Liberation Organization's (PLO) primary goal was to destroy Israel. Post-1967, their goal became two-tracked: Either (1) destroy Israel outright (the same pre-1967 goal) or (2) the creation of an Arab-Palestinian state to be used as a launching pad from which to destroy Israel. Different strategies – same ultimate goal… a state not along side Israel, but IN PLACE OF Israel. It's really that simple!
Israel became a nation in 1312B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam! Seven hundred and twenty-six years later in 586 B.C. these first ancient Jews in the Land of Israel [Judea] were overrun and its First Jewish Temple (on Jerusalem's Old City Temple Mount) was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, king of ancient Babylon. Many of the Jews were killed or expelled; however many were allowed to remain. These Jews along with their progeny and other Jews who would resettle over the next 500 years, rebuilt the Nation of Israel and also a Second Temple upon the Temple Mount. Thus the claim that Jews suddenly appeared fifty years ago right after the Holocaust and drove out the Arabs is preposterous!
Then in 70 A.D. (nearly 2000 years ago), it was the Roman Empire's turn to march through ancient Israel and destroy the SECOND Jewish Temple, slaughtering or driving out much of its Jewish population. Many Jews left on their own because conditions for life were made unbearable in many respects… yet thousands upon thousands stayed and rebelled on for centuries in order to once again rebuilt a Jewish Nation in this Holy Land.
Over the next 2,000 years various Peoples, Religions and Empires marched through Jerusalem, Israel's ancient capital. None bothered, nor were they in the least bit inclined, to build a Nation of their own. The region was successively ruled by the Greeks, Maccabeans, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Egyptians, Crusaders, Mamelukes and finally the Ottoman Turks who indifferently governed the backward, neglected territory from the 16th century until the British drove them out during World War I (1914-18). It must be noted that in 636 A.D., when the Arabs marauders came to the land and uprooted even more of its Jews, they did not form any Arab nation there… and certainly not a "Palestinian" nation. They were simply "Arabs" who, as did others before them, moved into a geo-political area called "Palestine!" And remember this one fact… it was not the Jews who "usurped" (a favorite word from the Arab propagandists) the land from the Arabs. If anything, it was the Arabs in 636A.D. who overran and stole it from the Jews!
In Conclusion: No nation, other than the ancient nation of Israel and later again in 1948 with the rebirth of the Nation of Israel, has ever ruled as a sovereign national entity on this land. A mighty Jewish empire extended over this entire area before the Arabs and their Islam were even born! The Jewish People have one of the most legitimate Birth Certificates of any nations in the world. And if you want to talk religion, fine. G-d GAVE the Land of Israel to the Jewish People. And G-d does nothing by accident!

The term "Palestine" came from the name that the conquering Roman Empire gave the ancient Land of Israel in an attempt to obliterate and de-legitimize the Jewish presence in the Holy Land. The Roman Procurator in charge of the Judean-Israel territories was so angry at the Jews for revolting that he called for his historians and asked them who were the worst enemies of the Jews in their past history. The scribes said, 'the Philistines." So, the Procurator declared that Land of Israel would from then on be called "Philistia" [further bastardized into "Palaistina"] to dishonor the Jews and obliterate their history. Hence the name "Palestine." One more thing. Very often one hears the revisionists and propagandists finding ancient historical links between the "Philistines" and the Arab "Palestinians." There is no truth to this claim!

Prayer penned by late judge used at Texas textbook meeting

Critics of a recent successful move to restore some of America's traditional historical references to textbooks in Texas launched a long list of criticisms against a conservative education board member who dared to mention Jesus and the Christian faith in a meeting invocation.
Then the critics discovered the words were penned by the late Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren, whose tenure on the court was marked by the removal of prayer from public schools and other similar moves.
"Those who wish to revise American history are often ignorant of history," said Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. "Some secularists wish to revise history in order to bury America's rich religious heritage.
"It was the Great Awakening that preceded the American Revolution. Without a religious revival, there would have been no lasting civil liberty, and without the American Revolution, there would be no America," he said.
"Those who wish to exclude God from our history either suffer from dementia or are dishonest," said Staver.
The invocation delivered by Texas Board of Education Member Cynthia Dunbar, a professor at Liberty University School of Law, has been posted online:
The text read:
"I believe no one can read the history of our country without realizing that the Good Book and the spirit of the Savior have from the beginning been our guiding geniuses. Whether we look to the first Charter of Virginia or the Charter of New England or the Charter of Massachusetts Bay or the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, the same objective is present – a Christian land governed by Christian principles. I believe the entire Bill of Rights came into being because of the knowledge our forefathers had of the Bible and their belief in it: freedom of belief, of expression, of assembly, of petition, the dignity of the individual, the sanctity of the home, equal justice under law, and the reservation of powers to the people…I like to believe we are living today in the spirit of the Christian religion. I like also to believe that as long as we do so, no great harm can come to our country."
The invocation came near the end of arguments over textbook standards that will be used in Texas for the next 10 years. Board members approved 9-5 a series of changes that emphasize the teaching of American history and rejected attempts by historical revisionists to change significant parts of the nation's story, officials said.

After Dunbar's invocation, the Texas Freedom Network, which promoted the progressive changes, wrote a scathing article.
"She offered the board's opening prayer this morning and removed any doubt about what she and other far-right board members want students to learn: America's laws and government should be based on the Christian Bible," said the criticism.
But Liberty Counsel pointed out the faux pas.
The words were Warren's, the liberal activist who served on the high court from 1953-1969, from a Time magazine article.
Staver told WND that many who offered criticism of Dunbar were quick to "scurry and run for cover" when they discovered the actual source of the words.
Condemnation posted on the Texas Freedom Network Insider included:
- From Steven Schafersman: "Invocations like this at the beginning of state agency meetings by public officials are, in my opinion, terribly bigoted in addition to being nonsense. By her remarks, Dunbar disenfranchised all in the audience who follow different faiths or no faith."
- From "fireweaver": "Will Ms Dunbar start calling for a Christian form of Shariah law? She sounds like someone who would find that appealing. She's whack."
- From "Keanus": "Dunbar, and the entire Christian Right, believes teaching, indoctrination and preaching are synonyms. For that reason they are doomed to a life time of ignorance, and, worse, blithely ignorant of their ignorance."
- From "Thomas": "Dunbar is a subversive, traitorous threat to the national security of the United States as are all Christian domestic terrorists of her ilk.
- From "Siobhan": "This woman can go to hell – and take the rest of her religious wingnut friends with her. I've already lived with this enough. I've seen first hand what it's done to my relatives in Ireland."
One commenter was watching carefully and apparently knew history, writing:
"Cynthia Dunbar must have been chuckling to herself as she laid plans for offering this 'prayer.' Between the opening lines ('Heavenly Father … As we look to our past to guide us, let us reflect on the convictions of those who have gone before us.') and a particularly non-inclusive closing ('All this I pray in the name of MY lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.'), she inserted an excerpt of a speech given by Chief Justice Earl Warren at the 1954 National Prayer Breakfast as quoted contemporaneously in Time magazine. Clever."
At the Texas Tribune, Brian Thevenot wrote that after the fact, Texas Freedom Network President Kathy Miller was unamused.
He quoted her: "Making a joke out of a prayer to score a political point? Now that cheapens faith for us all."
The textbook dispute caught the attention of columnist Phyllis Schlafly, who noted the Texas school board's nationwide influence on textbook publishers because of the size of the state's market.
She pointed out education "experts" in Texas had suggested eliminating from history references to Independence Day, Christopher Columbus, Thomas Edison, Daniel Boone and Neil Armstrong and replacing Christmas with Diwali.
"Liberals don't like the concept of American exceptionalism. The liberals want to teach what's wrong with America (masquerading under the code word 'social justice') instead of what's right and successful. The Texas Board voted to include describing how American exceptionalism is based on values that are unique and different from those of other nations," she said.
But she said the results were good.
"The deceptive claim that the United States was founded on a 'separation of church and state' gets the ax, and rightfully so. In fact, most of the original 13 colonies were founded as Christian communities with much overlap between church and state," she said. "Historytextbooks that deal with Joseph McCarthy will now be required to explain 'how the later release of the Venona papers confirmed suspicions of Communist infiltration in U.S. government.' The Venona papers are authentic transcripts of some 3,000 messages between the Soviet Union and its secret agents in the United States."
Likewise, WND columnist Chuck Norris commented.
"Liberals and progressives complain that conservatives are hijacking the curriculum process and modifying textbooks to fit their ideological whims. But the history of textbook alterations has clearly proven it is the former who have changed the course and content of curricula and textbook production. Conservatives have been largely the guardians or preservationists of tradition. Progressives have changed curricula content to pacify the politically correct and adopt what they value today and want others to value tomorrow," he said.

The pressures on Israel at this time that are coming from the East and the West indicate that the end-time war of the nations against the G-d and people of Israel, which was prophesied by the prophets of Israel to be the ultimate judgment upon the nations, is behind the door.
The complete redemption of Israel, the rebuilding of the Temple, and the coming of Messiah Ben David are the next stages in G-d's end-time plans with Israel and the entire world.
Sixty-two years after the re-establishment of the State of Israel by the G-d of Israel to be His end-time eternal kingdom, and after seven wars with Arab-Islamic nations who were backed by many nations worldwide that came to destroy Israel again and again, Israel is again facing pressure from every side with step-by-step preparations of the enemies of the G-d and people of Israel to destroy the State of Israel through an apocalyptic war with nuclear weapons that were never used in the past. These nations refused to learn through their own previous experiences when the G-d of Israel defeated them again and again and showed them that He is determined to rebuild His Holy Kingdom Israel in the Promised Land that He gave only to His people Israel.
Now, when the dark clouds of the end-time war are beginning to surround Israel from every side, G-d is going to judge the nations exactly as He promised in His prophetic Word. G-d will prove to them that He is determined to complete during these critical end-times what He started with Abraham and his seed Israel more than 4,000 years ago and that the re-established nation of Israel today in the Land of its biblical heritage is by far His greatest handiwork ever in the history of the world, and that a moral and G-dly redemption will come to the entire world only through the redemption of His people Israel. G-d is busy together with His people Israel rebuilding His kingdom to be an example and a light to all the nations. The climax of this G-dly handiwork that is called Israel today is going to be the rebuilding of the Temple of G-d by the people of Israel in Jerusalem and this will open the door for the coming of Messiah Ben David during our lifetimes.
Jerusalem is again going to be the city where G-d dwells among His people Israel and from where He will lead them and the entire world according to His holy and moral laws and principles. It behooves all of the nations that are coming again to remove Israel from the map of the world to realize that G-d is going to judge them terribly and show them that no weapon in the world can stop His end-time plans with Israel or destroy His chosen people and that Israel, the most major and G-dly phenomenon ever in the history of mankind, is eternal and irrevocable.
Israel and even the entire world are now experiencing the most critical time in history. Who are the black clouds that are coming against Israel, the people of G-d, in terrible rebellion against G-d? The president of Iran, Ahmadinejad, has stated again and again that his main goal is "to remove Israel from the map of the world" and for this he is preparing nuclear weapons. The so-called "Palestinians", people that invaded the Land of Israel from all of the Arab countries and never existed as a nation inside Israel or any other place in the world, are fighting against Israel and since 1948 have been the instrument of the Arab-Muslim world to destroy Israel from the midst of the Land. Islamic-terror organizations are surrounding Israel from every side and shooting missiles and rockets into Israel. Syria is armed with biological and chemical missiles aimed at Israel. All of the Arab countries have armed themselves with modern weapons to be used against Israel in the near future.
The president of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, is putting strong pressure on Israel to divide the Land of Israel and to establish a 'Palestinian State' with its capital in Jerusalem and he is promoting a pro-Arab-Islamic policy. The United Nations and the European Union are backing Arab-Islamic nations and are again and again making anti-Israel resolutions. So many countries and powers all over the world are putting pressure on tiny Israel instead of dealing with their own immoral problems.
My call is to all the world and especially to those nations acting against the G-d of Israel, be aware of the major judgment of G-d that is soon to come upon all of you exactly as it was prophesied. Maybe it is not too late for you to stop your hatred and eager preparations to destroy Israel. Open the Holy Book, the Bible that Israel presented as a gift to the entire world and immediately pay attention to the Word of G-d:
Joel 4:1-2, 16-17 - "For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will enter into judgment with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and have divided up my land. And the L-rd roars out of Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shake; but the L-rd will be a shelter for his people and a stronghold for the children of Israel. So shall you know that I am the L-rd your G-d dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and no strangers shall pass through her anymore."
To all those nations who want to rob Jerusalem from Israel and to eliminate the people of G-d:
Zechariah 12:2,3,8 ,9;14:3 - "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the peoples round about, and it shall also be for Judah during the siege against Jerusalem. And on that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples: all that burden themselves with it shall be grievously hurt: and all the peoples of the earth shall be gathered together against it. On that day shall the L-rd defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem?.And it shall come to pass on that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. Then shall the L-rd go out, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle." Zechariah 12:2, 3, 8, 9; 14:3
The entire world is now being tested by G-d more than any other time in the past. At this critical hour G-d is warning all the nations:
"If you will stand against Israel, the apple of My eye and the messenger who brings My light to all of the world, to pressure and destroy My chosen people, then you will be against Me and I will judge you with all of My Might."
My heart is telling me that all of the disasters, whether natural or as a result of immoral human behavior, and the cruel terror that is today spreading all over the world are warning signs of G-d's impending judgment. At the last moment and before the terrible judgment day of G-d, I am calling the entire world to declare to the enemies of Israel 'NO! STAND NOW WITH ISRAEL! Help her to build the Kingdom of G-d throughout the Holy Land that He gave ONLY to Israel in an eternal covenant, for the fate and future of the entire world.'
The rebuilding of the Temple of G-d is going to come to pass soon during our lifetimes where G-d will dwell in the midst of His people Israel exactly as He said/declared: "And let them build Me a temple; that I may dwell among them." Exodus 25:8. And during these end-times He will also dwell in the midst of the entire world as it was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah:
Isaiah 1:1-4; Micah 4:1-4 - "The word of Isaiah the son of Amos saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the L-rd's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all the nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the L-rd, to the house of the G-d of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth Torah, and the word of the L-rd from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall decide among many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore."
