A Lesson in Irony ...

Subject:  A Lesson in Irony ...

Is this also a lesson that our Government has no idea that the left  hand does not know what the right hand is doing;" go figure". But I makes sense when you realize the all our leaders are too focused on how to keep their position by keeping their attention on what is happening in the REAR VIEW mirror rather than what is in the Windshield.
Then again a Politicians job is to Politic and that means constant attention to Fund Raising and paving  the way for their personal futures.  It is no wonder Obama said that others built YOUR fortune. He should know, he is a perfect
example on from Rags to Riches on the back of others. LSS

A Lesson in Irony...

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is actually proud of the fact it is distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever!

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals."  Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.

This ends today's lesson.

Re: The Patriot Post/Ahlert: Exploiting the Colorado Theater Massacre

This is what happens when an entire generation is raised with no
knowledge of punishment for bad acts.

All one can do legally with children now is award "participation"
trophies for all and try not to hurt their feelings if they don't
behave...

Welcome to the leftist harvest as things get worse.... this is the
result of "coddling" rather than decent discipline.

A reporter ruins a mans' life and hard earned reputation and then
hands out a one line "Sorry".. Not to mention the Tea Party slam...
Both should sue the ass off the media and the reporter. In no way is
"Jim" equal to "James" .

The Patriot Post/Ahlert: Exploiting the Colorado Theater Massacre

Exploiting the Colorado Theater Massacre

The hate-America media unleashes.

By Arnold Ahlert · July 22, 2012

It didn't take long. Despite 12 dead and more than 71 injured, reckless media were looking to exploit the rampage perpetrated by alleged killer, James Holmes, as quickly as possible.

ABC News reporter Brian Ross led the despicable charge, immediately attempting to politicize the issue. "There's a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea Party site as well, talking about him joining the Tea Party last year. Now, we don't know if this is the same Jim Holmes. But it's Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado," Ross irresponsibly told Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos. Yet within hours, the network was forced to make a retraction. "An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect," ABC News said in a statement. "ABC News and Brian Ross apologize for the mistake, and for disseminating that information before it was properly vetted."

On CNN, criminal profiler Pat Brown theorized that the rampage constituted the "best night" of alleged killer Holmes' life, one for which he had "planned extensively," and that such planning likely involved violent video games. "This has been something he has really been into. And now we're going to find, probably on facebook or anybody who knows him will say, 'Yeah, he did have a lot of interest in that. He was always playing the video games,'" said Brown. "And I'm not saying video games make you a killer. But if you're a psychopath, video games help you get in the mode to do the killing. So it is a problem in our society with teenaged psychopaths, that they do get inspired by this and want to make it real. So it is a danger but it doesn't make you a psycho."

Time Magazine's Michael Grunwald, in a piece titled "The Aurora Shooting: Sometimes There's Nothing Wrong With Politicizing a Tragedy," contends that the "telegenic schoolmarms we call pundits are all denouncing the politicization of the tragedy in Aurora, calling out the crass opportunists who would dare to use human suffering to advance their preferred public policy choices. I feel terrible about what happened in that movie theater, and I'm agnostic about gun control, but there is nothing wrong with politicizing tragedy."

MSNBC used the tragedy to slam the National Rifle Association (NRA), while a blogger at the Daily Kos website blames America in general, contending that real problem "is getting past the mental and emotional resistance of those who continue to believe that we're the best country in the world, the best culture ever produced by human beings, and the best everything else." Film-maker Michael Moore echoed that sentiment, contending that "anthropologists and historians will look back on us and simply say we were a violent nation, at home and abroad, but in due time human decency won out and the violence ceased, but not before many, many more died and the world had had its fill of us."

Several politicians, led by Nanny State NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg, demanded gun law reforms. "We can talk about it on the talk shows, we can wring our hands and say it's terrible. You know, 'I need more guns to protect myself,'" Bloomberg contended. "That strategy doesn't work." Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said Friday's shooting underscores the need for a ban on assault weapons. Yet the Century 16 Movie Theater where Holmes allegedly opened fire does not allow anyone to carry firearms on the premises, including holders of concealed handgun permits. And the Brandy Campaign that has long lobbied for stricter gun control laws, ranks Colorado in the top third of all states in that regard.

Twitter was alive with recklessness. Rush Limbaugh was blamed for the atrocity because he reviewed "The Dark Knight Rises," the movie playing in the theater at the time, and noted that the name of the lead villain, Bane, was a homynym for Mitt Romney's Bain Capital, and that it was no accident. CNN's Piers Morgan tweeted that "America has got to do something about its gun laws. Now is the time." A tweet from Slate contends that no one should blame Dark Knight writer/director Chris Nolan for the tragedy "but we have to ask -- why there?"

Why anywhere? The essence of senseless tragedies such as this one is just that: utter senselessness. And that is exactly why irresponsible speculation, armchair psychology, and attempts to politically exploit them are so despicable. Yet the nonsense continues, led by the Associated Press, which compiled a list -- of more possible parallels between the massacre in Aurora and the Batman comic book character. Perhaps, much like the current bleating for more gun control, such "insight" will lead to calls for more comic book or movie controls as well.

GOP Makes Room For Rep. Ron Paul At Tampa Convention

GOP makes room for Rep. Ron Paul at Tampa convention

Ron Paul supporters have feuded with state Republican parties across the country, battling for delegate seats at the national convention, but the national party is welcoming Paul and his supporters to the event with open arms, even helping the Texas congressman organize his troops.

The Paul campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) have been working closely over the past few months to work out logistics in order to include the Texas congressman and his supporters in the August convention in Tampa.

"They've just treated us like a friend and like a coalition," said Jesse Benton, a spokesman for the Paul campaign. "They have been honest brokers in working with us and treated us with respect."

Paul will hold a rally with supporters Aug. 26 at the University of South Florida's Sun Dome — a venue convention planners helped him get.

"We have worked closely with Congressman Paul to secure a location for this event," said Kyle Downey, a spokesman for the GOP convention.

Planners have also kept Paul's platform committee delegates in the loop as they begin the process of assembling that document.

Despite this cooperation, Paul, unlike all of the other former GOP presidential contenders, has not endorsed Mitt Romney for the nomination.

In an interview with the Fox Business network last week, Paul — who is no longer actively campaigning for president but has not officially suspended his bid — said he had "not made a decision" whether he'll vote for Romney in November.

Benton said Paul's movement has matured enough to remain relevant well past the primary contests. For instance, the congressman said in June that he expects to have about 500 delegates and alternates in the convention hall out of the total of about 4,400. "Our success brings us some clout," Benton said.

During the 2008 Republican convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Paul was largely ignored by planners and ended up holding a counterrally with supporters. This year, deference to the Paul campaign began early.

In April, when the RNC wanted to start a joint fundraising operation with the Romney campaign following former senator Rick Santorum's exit from the race, they made sure to touch base with Paul's staff. Benton said at the time that the congressman gave his "blessing to begin assembling the Victory organization Republicans will require to guarantee a win in the fall."

Paul and Romney were generally friendly throughout the primary election. During the slew of Republican debates, the two saved their most withering attacks for other Republican contenders on stage, sparking rumors that they were somehow in cahoots.

In February, Santorum accused the two campaigns of working together to undermine his presidential bid, a charge both camps denied at the time.

Relations between the candidates' supporters were more acrimonious, particularly in several states where Paul backers packed local conventions to try to win delegate slots.

Ex-TARP Inspector General Points Out the Failures of Obama’s HAMP Scheme and the Dodd Frank Financial Reform Bill

New post on Scotty Starnes's Blog

Ex-TARP Inspector General Points Out the Failures of Obama's HAMP Scheme and the Dodd Frank Financial Reform Bill

by Scotty Starnes

Exposing Obama's fraud and lies!

Neil Barofsky is the guy former President Bush put in charge to police the $700 billion plus TARP bailout. He's a Democrat who donated money to Obama's campaign. Barofsky constantly pointed out all the schemes involved with the government stealing money from the taxpayers to bailout their banker buddies, or fat-cats, as Obama referred to them. Barofsky points out the failures of Obama's Treasury Department's handling of the $75 billion mortgage modification scheme, which did so poorly Democrats shut it down. He also points out the fraud which is the Doddd-Frank bill.

From the NYTimes:

..."Bailout" covers a lot of ground, running through attempts of the inspector general's office to ensure that additional rescue programs suggested by the Treasury had safeguards in place to avoid conflicts of interest, collusion and fraud. One battle involved the Public-Private Investment Program, designed to get troubled mortgages off banks' balance sheets by encouraging private investors to buy them using mostly taxpayer dollars. When the inspector general's office recommended ways to protect against fraud and to fix other flaws in the program, Mr. Barofsky writes, the Treasury rejected the suggestions, maintaining that they would gut the programs and reduce participation.

Another skirmish involved the department's ill-conceived loan modification plan, known as the Home Affordable Modification Program. When the Treasury began discussing the program's outlines, Mr. Barofsky said he became concerned that it would open the door to fraudulent foreclosure rescue schemes, in which large upfront fees could be extracted from desperate borrowers eager to participate in what was supposed to be a free government program. When his office recommended fraud-prevention measures, several were ignored, he writes.

Obama's HAMP cost the taxpayers $75 billion and failed miserably. Obama promise to cut waste and fraud, yet his guy's over the Treasury Dept. did nothing to stop these act.

A few months after the modification plan was announced, his office began a preliminary audit of its rollout. "We soon verified what we had suspected," Mr. Barofsky writes. "Treasury had failed to ensure that the servicers had the necessary infrastructure to support a massive mortgage modification program." It barely got off the ground, and few homeowners have received the help they hoped for.

Obama promised his HAMP would save 9 million homes from being foreclosed on. Instead a little over 400,000 received help.

Barofsky also pointed out what many of us conservatives already knew. The Dodd-Frank bill does nothing to regulate these banks and will not prevent this next financial crisis. Basically, it was the criminals writing laws for the criminals.

...Mr. Barofsky's assessment of his former regulatory brethren is crucial for taxpayers to understand, because Congress's financial reform act — the Dodd-Frank legislation — left so much of the heavy lifting to the weak-kneed.

"So much of what's wrong with Dodd-Frank is it trusts the regulators to be completely immune to the corrupting influences of the banks," he said in the interview. "That's so unrealistic. Congress has to take a meat cleaver to these banks and not trust regulators to do the job with a scalpel."

Finally, Mr. Barofsky joins the ranks of those who believe that another crisis is likely because of the failed response to this one. "Incentives are baked into the system to take advantage of it for short-term profit," he said. "The incentives are to cheat, and cheating is profitable because there are no consequences."

Despite all of this, Mr. Barofsky ends on something of a positive note. Meaningful changes to our broken system may finally come about, he writes, if enough people get angry. His conclusion is this: "Only with this appropriate and justified rage can we sow the seeds for the types of reform that will one day break our system free from the corrupting grasp of the megabanks."

Pro-Pot/Anti-War Leftists in Oakland to Protest Obama, Not Over Economy, Over Medical Marijuana Crackdowns and Afghan War

New post on Scotty Starnes's Blog

Pro-Pot/Anti-War Leftists in Oakland to Protest Obama, Not Over Economy, Over Medical Marijuana Crackdowns and Afghan War

by Scotty Starnes

The Obama-supported Oakland Occupiers

Typical drug using leftists. This is hilarious because it's Obama's base.

From SFGate:

Oakland may be a proven bastion of support for President Obama, but his planned visit to the politically charged city Monday is expected to lead to the first major downtown protests in months.

Medical marijuana advocates are staging what will likely be the biggest rally as they urge Obama to halt a Justice Department crackdown on dispensaries. Antiwar activists are coming, too, lending energy to the barrage of criticism that Obama has been taking from the activist left.

As us conservatives know, if you criticize Obama it's due to racism so this protest must be racist, according to liberal logic.

If the president wanted this kind of attention, he picked the right destination.

Among East Bay stops on Monday, Obama is set to appear at a fundraiser that starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Fox Theater, which sits on the edge of Oaksterdam, Oakland's unofficial cannabis district, on a block where Occupy activists have clashed with police.

But lefty's claim Occupy is peaceful.

Between the rallies and street closures related to Obama's security, the downtown area may be tough to negotiate. Some businesses that fall within a Secret Service perimeter will have to close for the evening.

Obama continues his WAR ON SMALL BUSINESSES. He seems to enjoy costing the middle class to lose wages.

Police, who are beefing up their presence, urged people to avoid the area or use public transportation.

"Expect delays no matter what," said Sgt. Chris Bolton, chief of staff to Police Chief Howard Jordan.

He said he wasn't worried about political protesters causing trouble but about others hijacking their events.

Cough...Occupy thugs and anarchist goons.

"If there are problems," Bolton said, "they will be with those small groups that have historically caused acts of property damage and violence."

...Occupy Oakland protesters have announced no specific plans but said they may join other protest groups.

I enjoyed this part of the story. A stupid devoted Obama supporter who fell for Obama's bullshit is really upset that Obama isn't radical enough in her eyes...

"Obama made a lot of promises and spoke a big game in his campaign to become president. He used language and concepts familiar to the radical community," said Occupy activistLauren Smith, 30, of Concord. "But what he did when he got into office was decide to be the great compromiser. ... People feel really betrayed."
