riverbank, and his wife fell into the river. When he cried out, the
Lord again appeared and asked him, "Why are you crying?"

"Oh Lord, my wife has fallen into the water!"

The Lord went down into the water and came up with ANGELINA JOLIE "Is
this your wife?" the Lord asked.

"Yes," cried the woodcutter.

The Lord was furious. "You lied! That is an untruth!"

The woodcutter replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a
misunderstanding.

You see, if I had said 'no' to ANGELINA JOLIE , You would have come up
with CAMERON DIAZ . Then if I said 'no' to her, you would have come up
with my wife. Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all
three.

Lord, I am a poor man, and am not able to take care of all three wives
so THAT'S why I said yes to ANGELINA JOLIE ."

The moral of this story is: Whenever a man lies, it is for a good and
honorable reason, and for the benefit of others.

There's a stunning trend happening within the immigrant community around the country and in New Mexico. Many undocumented parents are fearful not just of immigration officials, but of their own children.

Illegal immigrant community.

"I don't know what to say about that. That's kinda terrible," said Paul Martinez of Albuquerque.

It may sound unreal but there have been cases reported of U.S. born kids and teens threatening their undocumented parents with having them deported.

"Sadly but that's happening around here too," said therapist Jennifer Nagorski, who works at Enlace Comunitario. She says these types of cases are on the rise locally, especially against women in domestic abuse situations.

Nagorski says it's that violence that's to blame in many situations.

'"Even the little ones, two years old, start to abuse their mothers because they see that violence at home," she said. "The idea is that they're going to be free. Free from their mother."

Maria De la Cruz of Albuquerque says she's heard of this happening when she lived in California.

"A neighbor said her son, if she didn't buy him something, he'd say: Oh, I'm going to call police so they can deport you. A little boy!," said De la Cruz.

The Albuquerque Police Department says it hasn't responded to calls like this, and doesn't ask immigration status.

"Kids aren't disciplined right now," thinks De la Cruz. "They do what they want. And parents are scared of their kids." Enlace Comunitario urges victims to come forward. Therapy is also available for their kids.

PHOENIX - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Wednesday ordered state agencies to deny driver's licenses and other public benefits to young illegal immigrants who obtain work authorizations under a new Obama administration policy.

After the order was issued, supporters of the program and the DREAM Act took to the streets of Phoenix in protest. Video from Air15 showed the protesters carrying signs and walking down Central Avenue toward the State Capitol.

In an executive order, Brewer said she was reaffirming the intent of current Arizona law denying taxpayer-funded public benefits and state identification to illegal immigrants.

Get 'em Jan.

Young illegal immigrants around the nation on Wednesday began the process of applying for federal work permits under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The federal policy defers deportations for that group if they meet certain criteria, including arrival in the United States before they turned 16 and no convictions for certain crimes.

After President Barack Obama announced the policy change in June, Brewer labeled it "backdoor amnesty" and political pandering by the Democratic president.

That's exactly what it is. Obama couldn't get the DREAM Act passed in a Democrat-controlled Congress so he circumvented them and used an executive order to pander to the Hispanic population.

Arizona has been in the vanguard of states enacting laws against illegal immigration.

The U.S. Supreme Court in June overturned parts of the Arizona enforcement law known as SB1070 but ruled that a key provision on requiring police to ask people about their immigration status under certain circumstances can be implemented.

The Obama administration challenged that law in 2010 after Brewer signed it into law.

In the past decade, Arizona voters twice approved laws denying publicly funded services, such as in-state resident university tuition rates, to illegal immigrants unless mandated by the federal government.

The 10th Amendment has been a thorn in the side of Liberals since it was adopted. The voters decided what laws they want to govern their state, not a wanna-be dictator of a president.

Brewer's order said the policy's federal paperwork doesn't confer lawful status on illegal immigrants and won't entitle them to Arizona public benefits.

However, it said the policy change "could result in some unlawfully present aliens inappropriately gaining access to public benefits contrary to the intent of Arizona voters and lawmakers who enacted laws expressly restricting access to taxpayer funded benefits and state identification."

http://spectator.org -- Obama's politically correct spin on Islam grows more and more buffoonish. At the very moment he accuses Christians of waging a "war on women," he casts Islam as a benevolent religion to which the Sandra Flukes could take refuge.

He used his remarks at this year's Iftar dinner to praise Islam as a female-friendly religion. "Indeed, you know that the Koran teaches, 'Be it man or woman, each of you is equal to the other,'" he said. For Obama, it is the Bible, not the Koran, that reeks of dangerous patriarchy. Obama has mocked the Book of Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and St. Paul's letters, but he would never dare question a passage in the Koran, which he regards as a holy and blameless book in no need of politically correct revision.

If the oppression at Georgetown gets to be too much for Sandra Fluke, she could always try her luck in the Islamic world, where the rights of women are spreading like wildfire, according to Obama. Thanks in part to Islam, he said, this year's Olympics can be dubbed "The Year of the Woman," as Muslim countries generously allowed a few women to play: "Also, for the very first time in Olympic history, every team now includes a woman athlete. And one of the reasons is that every team from a Muslim-majority country now includes women as well."

Obama was particularly pleased that women got the chance to "face down tanks" in the Arab Spring. Nothing proves sameness between the sexes better than the equal opportunity to die.

Obama seemed unable to get his favorite constituency off his mind, excitedly noting that one of the first "Muslim chaplains at an American college" is a woman, Sanaa Nadim. How did the imams in attendance at the dinner feel about that remark? No doubt they murmur to themselves that Obama is an idiot, albeit a very useful one.

Obama also peppered his speech with his customary deceptions about America's Islamic-friendly origins. "As I've noted before, Thomas Jefferson once held a sunset dinner here with an envoy from Tunisia -- perhaps the first Iftar at the White House, more than 200 years ago," he said. Notice Obama's weasely use of the word "perhaps." Why the hedging? Because he knows perfectly well that it wasn't an Iftar dinner but a war negotiation. Seeking to end the Barbary War with Islamic pirates, Jefferson invited Tunisian envoy Sidi Soliman Mellimelli to Washington. He invited him to a dinner at the White House not to honor Islam but to end a war. The dinner happened to coincide with Ramadan. Jefferson pushed the time back for the dinner to "sunset" in order to ensure that Mellimelli would attend. It wasn't by any stretch of the imagination an Iftar dinner.

But Obama wasn't done misleading his audience. "And some of you, as you arrived tonight, may have seen our special display, courtesy of our friends at the Library of Congress -- the Koran that belonged to Thomas Jefferson. And that's a reminder, along with the generations of patriotic Muslims in America, that Islam-- like so many faiths -- is part of our national story." He failed to mention that Jefferson purchased the Koran in order to understand the attitudes and tactics of the Barbary pirates. For Jefferson, it wasn't a holy book but a manual for war. No mention of that on the placard near the "special display." (If Obama really wanted to wow his Muslim friends, he should have shown them "Jefferson's Bible" over at the Smithsonian's History Museum, which is a tribute to TJ's secularist tastes in that he deleted from his copy of the Bible all references to the supernatural. Jefferson's secularized Bible foreshadowed the left-wing Christianity that Obama now espouses.)

Obama concluded his remarks with an absurdly hypocritical paean to "freedom of religion." As he purges Christianity from public life, forbidding any public application of it that conflicts with his liberal dictates, Obama has the gall to gush about religious freedom as a "universal right." In Obama's envisioned America, Islam belongs to the "national story" while Judeo-Christianity marks a chapter best forgotten.

Obama apparently thinks the Bible is sexist, hateful tripe...but the Koran is faultless and walks on water. He conveniently forgets how swiftly the Sandra Flukes in this world would be headless wonders if they went around sniveling about birth control in Sharian society.

VAN SUSTEREN, FOX News: People think of him as hawkish on the budget, on expenses, but he voted for TARP. He voted for the auto bailout, voted for two stimulus in '08, voted against the '09 -- February '09 President Obama stimulus. How does -- I mean, how does he explain those, or I mean, how does -- politically, how does he sell that?

BOEHNER: I mean, I think that he's a practical conservative. He's got a very conservative voting record, but he's not a knuckle-dragger, all right? He understood that TARP, while none of us wanted to do it, if we were going to save -- save our economy, save the world economy, it had to happen. I wish we didn't have to do it, either, but he understood that.

Would you say no to the Vice President?

One New River Valley business owner turned Vice President Joe Biden down.

This might happen more than you think from both political parties, most businesses just don't talk about it. The owner of "Crumb and Get It" - did.

Chris McMurray's bakery has been open only since May, barely three months.

Wednesday morning, advance teams for Vice President Joe Biden walked in.

"I approached her she said Joe Biden is coming to town today," McMurray said.

"Crumb and Get It" is a mom and pop store. Literally. Chris and his wife Kelly run the place and need all the business they can get.

McMurray said the Vice President's entourage got to the point and made its pitch.

"She said they have selected 'Crumb and Get It" to be his stop on his way to Blacksburg and was wondering if that was ok."

Here's the part that might make other business owners crazy.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime but essentially I said 'No offense to you or the campaign but I just decline you guys coming in here. At that time she said 'Are you sure? There's going to be a lot of press, a lot of activity,'" McMurray said.

Why in the world would a new business owner say "no" to a photo op with the Vice President of the United States?

McMurray said it was President Obama's recent remarks about small business and who built what.

"Very simply, 'you didn't build that'" McMurray said. "Speaking of small businesses and entrepreneurs all across this country and actually last night my wife was up all night. No sleep, she's worked a full 24 hours."

When "Crumb and Get It" said 'no', "River City Grill," just around the corner, said 'yes' and has the pictures to prove it, and didn't care about the politics.

"If you want to throw in some libertarians as well that's fine too. Stop in as well," Chris Bell said. "Just bring your money. Sure, right!

Back at the bakery, a couple of guys said they'd hoped to see Biden and didn't care that the VP had been turned away.

"I mean it really doesn't matter to me. Everyone has their own views so I love the food here anyway. I agree. Everybody's different so I could care less," said Spenser Critterton of Radford.

Here's the back story, we're told that shortly after Crumb and Get It told Biden's advance people 'no' -- the secret service walked in and told Chris McMurray ''Thanks for standing up and saying 'no' -- then they bought a whole bunch of cookies and cupcakes.

McMurray said he's hoping folks will understand he just didn't want to be part of a photo op for an administration whose policies he doesn't agree with.

Harvard Food Law Clinic Releases New Farmers Market Regulatory Report Commissioned by Keep Food Legal

Pioneering Report Looks at Impact of New Pennsylvania Law, Compares Law to Laws in Nine Other U.S. States, Recommends Looser Regulations

A groundbreaking new report commissioned by Keep Food Legal and released today by Harvard University School of Law's Food Law and Policy Clinic recommends several ways that states can lessen the regulatory burden on farmers markets in order to maximize the satisfaction of farmers and consumers without sacrificing food safety.

The report, Pennsylvania's Chapter 57 and Its Effects on Farmers Markets, was commissioned in fall 2011 by Keep Food Legal after some of our Pennsylvania members and supporters expressed their concerns about a new state law's potential impact on farmers markets in the state.

The new law meant farmers would have to obtain retail food licenses. Many feared they would be required also to purchase costly handwashing sinks (rather than sharing a sanitary sink with other vendors) and mechanized cooling devices (rather than chilling food safely using ice).

The report concludes that Pennsylvania's regulation of farmers markets compares favorably to regulatory approaches in the nine other states that were part of the Clinic's research. It also notes that some of the perceived concerns with the new law were caused by a failure on the part of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to educate farmers, vendors, market managers, and local health departments about the law.

The report recommends states replace costly process-driven regulations—which require a farmer or vendor to follow particular steps rather than to achieve a particular level of food safety—with results-driven regulations that simply require food to be safe.

"If a farmer can keep meat at a mandated temperature using an ice chest," says Keep Food Legal executive director Baylen Linnekin, "there is no reason to require the farmer to purchase an expensive refrigerator and generator to achieve the same or lesser level of food safety at a much higher cost.

"I'm grateful to our members and supporters in Pennsylvania for expressing their concerns about this new law," says Linnekin. "And I'm very pleased that the Harvard Food Law and Policy Clinic did such a wonderful job carrying out this important research on behalf of Keep Food Legal."

"This project was a first step in a really important direction," says Emily Broad Leib, Director of the Harvard Food Law and Policy Clinic. "Farmers markets and other direct farm-to-consumer sales are great opportunities for small farmers to make money and for consumers to access fresh, healthy foods. However, small farms are not set up to meet the same laws and regulations that apply to large farms or other institutions, so we need to ensure that the food safety laws that apply to them are appropriate to their size and scale. This report was a start in looking critically at some of the state laws that impact farmers markets, but more work still needs to be done to extend this research to other states and get this important message to policymakers."

The report echoes these calls for further research into food safety laws and regulations that govern farmers markets across the country.
