Re: Conversation at a Grocery Store

I am surprised that he got that far in the converstation. Usually, people are not well informed enough to hold such a conversation.  But I know the bewildered look all too well.

Conversation at a Grocery Store

As I was leaving our neighborhood grocery store, I was met by two college-age women who told me that they were working for Greenpeace, and would like to have my support.

"To do what?," I asked.

"To help save the rainforests, protect endangered species, and end pollution," one of them responded.

"Those sound like worthwhile ends," I said. "What is Greenpeace doing to bring them about?"

"We're trying to get the public to become aware of these problems," I was told.

"So that the public will do what?," I went on.

"To get people to stop doing business with the big corporations that are engaging in these destructive practices," one woman answered.

"I have no problem with people withholding their patronage of business firms," I said. "But what if this approach doesn't alleviate the problems that concern you? What is your organization prepared to do in that event? Is Greenpeace dedicated to using voluntary, persuasive means to accomplish its ends, or will it resort to violence if necessary?"

I was reassured that Greenpeace was a peaceful group, and did not believe in using violence.

"Does any of the money Greenpeace raises go to political efforts?," I asked.

"We do have lobbyists in Washington," I was told.

"And don't these lobbyists try to persuade members of Congress and other government officials to adopt policies and enact statutes that you favor?"

"Of course," one of the women replied.

"But isn't this having resort to violence? Legislation gets enacted that requires people to act in ways they do not choose to act and, if they violate the statute, they will be punished or imprisoned, isn't that so?"

At this point I was subjected to a brief review of my high-school civics class catechisms about how the public interest is served by government doing such things.

"You say government action is required to keep the 'big corporations' from engaging in the practices of which you disapprove. Who do you think controls the government?," I asked.

"What do you mean?," one answered.

"Let me put it this way: what did you do with your billion dollar bailout money that President Bushobama shelled out some time back?"

She acknowledged that she hadn't received any of these funds, leading me to inquire: "if government acts to further the 'public interest,' why did only major corporations receive this money? And if these big corporate interests are the recipients of this bailout money, don't you suspect that they pretty much control other programs to suit their ends?"

I then commented on how "environmentalism" was a new religion, complete with "original sin" (i.e., humans upsetting the pristine conditions of Earth), an "apocalypse" (i.e., when mankind's profligacy will lead to its destruction), with all kinds of "sins" thrown in.

"If you are truly interested in protecting wildlife, saving forests, and the like," I continued, "why don't you undertake actions that you can control, and that don't depend upon your using government violence to force other people to conform to your preferences?," I queried.

"What do you mean"," one answered.

"There are a number of conservation groups who have figured out that, when they have to compete with big corporations for government backing of their programs, they usually end up getting only a trifling of what they want. They have decided that, instead of devoting their resources to trying to persuade congressmen, they are better off using their funds to purchase, for example, stands of redwood trees. As the owners of these resources, they can do what they want with them, including deciding to not cut down the trees. With this approach, the conservationists are no longer in conflict with lumber companies."

I went on to point out the many privately owned forests that operate as preserves, which members of the public can voluntarily support and visit. Private groups have purchased 'conservation easements' from landowners, for the purpose of preserving wetlands. I told them of the late actor, William Holden, who devoted most of his wealth to creating and maintaining a preserve in Africa wherein wild elephants could live. I also know of a man with no family who plans to leave his entire estate to the care of wild gorillas in Africa. "If individuals and private groups can do such things – without putting themselves in conflict with others – do you think you – or Greenpeace – could figure out non-political, non-violent ways of accomplishing ends that you value?"

I further suggested that the people who want the government to undertake various programs seem reluctant to enthusiastically devote their energies or resources to such ends. "Do you really want to accomplish these objectives, or do you only want the government to compel others to do so?"

As an apparent effort to conclude the conversation, one of the women said: "we'll just have to keep fighting!"

"But don't you see that this is the problem? Political systems divide people into exclusive groups, making their coercive powers available to those who control the state's machinery. This can only produce conflict, anger, and, ultimately, the violent and destructive world in which we now live. The corporations you fight today can so easily become the people the government kills in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Pakistan, and elsewhere."

Our conversation came to an end, and I could see the look of complete bewilderment on the face of the woman who had been the most vocal. I knew two things: (1) I had not convinced her of my point of view, nor had I sought to do so, and (2) she had heard ideas that were unfamiliar to her. Having heard them, they will remain in her mind; she cannot unhear them. At some point she will hear them from someone else and they will not be so unfamiliar. When she hears these ideas a third or fourth time from others, she may be inclined to think to herself: "I've always known that."

As an aside, I've thought of the benefits of having three or four libertarians visit a grocery store on a day when statist proselytizers stand outside to promote some piece of legislation. Each of these libertarians would separately leave the store – perhaps five minutes apart – stopping to argue with or question these clip-board collectivists. What impact might this have on the statists' assessments of public opinion?

Extremism Is the New Race Card

"The Establishment uses "extremism" as a bromide. It provides a comfortable escape from those realities that most Americans are not ready to face. That the entire edifice of our society is built upon legalized theft is one of them."

Extremism Is the New Race Card
by Tom Mullen

There was a time in American politics when the "race card" was an effective Establishment strategy against arguments it could not refute logically. Regardless of how unrelated an issue may have been to race, the Establishment would try to make a connection in order to avoid confronting the troublesome argument. Alternatively, they might completely ignore the issue at hand and simply present evidence that the proponent himself was racist. So distasteful is racism to most Americans that the mere suggestion that a politician might be racist was enough to condemn any idea, policy, or position he might take, whatever its merits.

Today, that is no longer true. While hardcore liberals still try to use the race card to discredit anyone who opposes their policy positions, it is apparent that it no longer resonates with average Americans. It was always a strategy with a limited shelf life. Besides, it is only effective for one half of the Establishment. If the race card sounds hollow and timeworn coming out of the mouths of liberals, it sounds downright ridiculous when employed by conservatives.

Besides, the entire ruling Establishment is in trouble. Their welfare-warfare state is coming apart at the seams. While the blue team and the red team will continue to fight with each other, they both realize that average Americans are becoming more open to hearing from candidates who refuse to put on either jersey. Something must be done to stifle any reasonable consideration of these unapproved ideas. The Establishment needs a new pocket ad hominem, one that can be used by conservatives or liberals.

Extremism has filled the void. "Extremist" is a word that elicits an immediate emotional response. Thanks to the all-out propaganda campaign against extremism, average Americans immediately associate the word with images of bomb-laden Muslim terrorists or McVeigh-like "militia types," both apocalyptic threats to all of humanity. The moment an argument is made that departs from the status quo, the tag of extremism is applied to its author in the attempt to deflect attention away from the argument.

The most discouraging aspect of this new slur tactic is its effectiveness. Not only is it employed by both sides of the Establishment, but it is immediately given credence by both conservative and liberal voters. Picture any discussion you've had with a group of friends on a political issue. If a position is taken that is outside of the Mitt Romney-Hillary Clinton continuum, it is inevitable that someone in the room will allege extremism. Heads will immediately nod in agreement, as if merely uttering the word makes the allegation true. It is also assumed without question that any "extremist" position must be wrong. The result? The discussion goes back to the continuum. So it goes in millions of households and hundreds of millions of minds.

But what does the word "extremism" mean? Merriam-Webster defines it (in the most relevant of several definitions) as "going to extreme lengths." Often, extremism is characterized as "too much of a good thing." For example, one might agree that too many carbohydrates in one's diet is not healthy, but consider eating no carbohydrates at all as "extreme."

However, what does the word mean when applied to politics? If politics is the pursuit of justice, can any position be accurately characterized as "extremist?" Can there ever be too much justice?

Recently, freshman Senator Rand Paul made an argument on the senate floor that equated the assertion of a "right to healthcare" with support of slavery. This was identical to the argument I made in Chapter 7 of my book. Of course, this immediately drew accusations of "extremism." Certainly, the statement "Claiming a right to healthcare is claiming a right to enslave" is provocative, but does that make it "extremist?" Absolutely not. There is no "extreme" or "moderate" position applicable here. It is just a fact.

There are some things that are not a matter of opinion. Anyone who has taken an introductory algebra class recalls the transitive property of equality. It states that if A = B and B = C, then A = C. A doesn't "somewhat" equal C. It does not equal C most of the time. There is no moderate or extremist way to look at this theorem. It is just absolutely true without exception or qualification.

This mathematical/logical principle applies directly to our example. Consider the following:

If (A) a right = (B) healthcare

And (B) healthcare = (C) the labor of other people

Then the right to healthcare must equal "a right to the labor of other people (slavery)." The words "moderate" or "extreme" do not apply to this statement. It is simply true. One cannot partially agree or disagree with it.

In order to disagree with it, one must reject one of the first two statements in the theorem. Assuming that one does not want to reject the first statement (healthcare is a right), then one must take the absurd position that healthcare is not the labor of other people. Without accepting this absurdity, one cannot deny that a right to healthcare constitutes a right to the labor of other people. If that is not the definition of slavery, then what is?

In American politics, the practice of extorting the labor of one person in order to provide benefits to another is not limited to healthcare. It is ubiquitous. It is virtually all that the federal government does. Sometimes the recipients of these ill-gotten gains are rich people. Sometimes they are poor people. Sometimes they are everybody. Regardless of who receives the benefits, the redistribution of wealth by the government is always predicated upon the idea that one person or group can have a right to the labor of another. It follows that if it is wrong to take money under the threat of violence from some people to pay for the healthcare of others, then it must be wrong to do likewise to provide education, housing, medical research, energy, jobs – the entire government redistribution system must be immoral.

Most people would characterize this line of reasoning as extremism. In other words, an extremist is someone who employs logic and faces reality.

The Establishment uses "extremism" as a bromide. It provides a comfortable escape from those realities that most Americans are not ready to face. That the entire edifice of our society is built upon legalized theft is one of them.

Things are going to change. The American empire is coming down, one way or another. Economically, we have, as Margaret Thatcher put it, "run out of other people's money." We can go on limiting the solutions we are willing to consider to approved Establishment absurdities, like cutting $30 billion from a $1,600 billion deficit. Or, we can face reality and conclude that virtually our entire military establishment must be dismantled and our entire welfare state phased out. The former path leads to certain collapse. The latter offers a chance for survival. When you hear someone called an extremist simply for acknowledging reality, don't take the bait. Like the race card, the extremist card attempts to make you stop thinking and retreat into self-delusion. At this point, that is the only way that anyone would tolerate the status quo. Denying reality may have worked in past decades, but it is much too late for that now. If reason, justice, and equity are extremism, then it is time to listen to the extremists.

Weiner's Muslim Brotherhood wife-Comment

Comment by Sandra Miller 1 hour ago

That's just great! What next!

Joyce RomanoComment by Joyce Romano 1 hour ago

Just for your review, I received this from a friend yesterday in response to this article about Huma...he's really connected the dots!

No surprise here. The Clintons can be bought for a price, a high price. Bill literally SOLD this country to Red China during the 1990's. They got US missile technology, favored trade status, Clinton even signed a waivor to allow COSCO SHIPPING a Red Chinese owned shipping company to Lease the Long Beach Naval Yard. Had the people of Long Beach not threatened to set on fire any Chinese ship that docked there, Red China would now have a quasi Naval Base in Long Beach California.

The real question here is why would a rich, Internationally Sophisticated Muslim woman like weiners wife, someone what wears $1500 dresses and $2500 purses
...marry a loud mouth obnoxious JEW like Weiner ? That marriage had to be sanctioned by the Muslim Brotherhood for the greater good or....she'd already be dead.

Hillary is about to reach her goal as President of the World Bank. Bill wanted to be Head of the United Nations but Monica messed that up. You might consider Bill and Hillary the worst traitors in American History. Bill was bought by the Red Chinese after his failed attempt to become governor of Arkansas. The Lippo Group a Chinese banking cartel, the Riady Family, Cosco Shipping, all sponsored Bill Clinton and funded his political career from Governor to President.

During his reign there was never a time when Red Chinese Military Officers in Uniform were not "guests" at the Whitehouse. This included one STUNNING Chinese female Officer who was always hanging around....???

Clinton waived the background check when he appointed John Haung to Under Sec. of Commerce, under Ron Brown. The orchestrated the fly for pay scam AKA "Travelgate" where for a fee you could BUY a seat on Airforce 1 and visit Chinese businessmen for sales export and import deals. The more you DONATED you more exposure you got... in reality its called TREASON.

John Houng sat in on over a dozen Top Secret US national Security Meetings. It alarmed the FBI when he visited the Chinese Embassy after each one... a sting was set up but just before it was sprung Haung was WARNED and fled the country. Later it was proven he was a Red Chinese Spy, Ron Brown his superior stated he was not going down by himself. That day he was ordered to Bosnia by Clinton. His plane crashed, the man who controlled the runway lights, committed suicide. The Flight Attendant and only survivor of the crash was picked up 4 hours after the crash....but died in route to base...from a severed femoral artery. She could not have gotten that in the crash as she bled out within minutes after being picked up.

Ron Brown was found with a nearly 1/2" round hole in his head. The size of a 45 cal bullet. An Air force X ray Technician did an xray of the head and found bullet fragments inside Browns head. She was ORDERED to destroy the x rays but put them on the internet instead, she was removed. Browns body was ORDERED by the WH not to be autopsied and buried immediately....and it was.

There was Bernard Swartz was able to meet with the Red Chinese and sell them US missile Technology and Guidance Systems from Loral Corporation. Before this 75% of China's missiles blew up on the pad as they launched. With help from Loral and US technology that figure went to 100% success, and made every US city a potential target except the tip of Florida...Clinton made Red China a World Power, and potential successor to the US as world most powerful military.

Clinton also implemented NAFTA which allowed Red China to literally take over America's manufacturing almost overnight.

It was thought that Hillary, a devote bi-sexual, was having an affair with Huma and they were literally inseparable ...day or night, 24-7....and still are. I look for Weiner to kill himself that would put Huma in a perfect position as a maryter to take his place as Congressman. Hillary would make that happen.

What better for the Muslims than to have a "spy" in the bed of a outspoken easily controlled lout, and Jewish Congressman... who didn't support Israel. In simple terms it was a perfect fit. She was a loyal soldier, she got anything she wanted from Hillary, and is still "employed".... by Sec. of State Clinton.

When your screwing a US Congressman (who's a pervert and easily blackmailed) and the Sec. of State who's a lesbian....you have access to everything, Huma is the perfect spy, in the perfect place, at just the right time....with acess to unlimited CASH for bribing anyone with money or blackmail.

Remember when Bush took office...there was a FBI investigation ongoing on Clinton for High Treason for the above, and a host of suspicious interactions with Red China. Bush's first act as President was to shut down all ongoing investigations of Bill Clinton...and "start fresh".

There was no doubt that Clinton told GW if he goes down he would take Bush's father down with him. Bush saved Clinton.

America could be gone within the next two decades either from illegal immigration and the riots and street warfare that is surly just around the corner from them. Muslims coming in from both US borders and setting up cells based in Dearborn Mich. and Minnesota. They are in position, they have a sympathitic US President, the Sec. of State (and former President) in their pocket, and out military spead out way to thin. Its the perfect time to strike...

You have 1/3 the country America hating, Christian loathing, Liberal Communists bent on helping any group that will aid them in destroying the Capitalist System and those pesky Christians. You have 1/3 who don't care who wins as they fall in line with whomever holds the power, finally you have 1/3 who fight and stand up for America. The exact same ratio our Founding Fathers had in 1776,

Like that Marine Commander said when he was surrounded by the enemy..."well boys we have them right where we want them now".

Obama is a pawn, he is not a major player. Hillary is though. The cabinent of the US is now made up of Socialists and Communists for the first time in our history. Hillary was tutored/mentored by the man who formed the ACLU.... a devote Communist and Marxist.

This country is on the verge of a Civil War, the danger to our way of life has never been greater. Not only has our government been taken over by enemies of democracy, but the population has largely been brainwashed into hating each other, and trusting the government while ignoring the US Constitution. Our rule of law is gone, judges are appointed by political agenda, and the President is not eligible to hold office....and no one even cares. We are the Roman Empire, we are facing the same fall as they did, by the same means. Its all lining up in a perfect fit, our enemies are called "friends" by the government, and our people, the patriots are the new enemy of the Obama reign.

The end is not "near'....its here.

The Sheep have turned on the Sheep Dog, and the Wolves are watching, waiting..... and laughing

GROUNDBREAKING U.S. SUPREME COURT DECISION ON THE TENTH AMENDMENT.

[[ Nore:  Have seen nothing else on this.  ]]

 Goldwater Institute June 17, 2011

Supreme Court of the United States

BOND v. UNITED STATES
Yesterday the U.S. Supreme Court issued one of the best and most important decisions ever on federalism. The Court unanimously held that not just states but individuals have standing to challenge federal laws as violations of state sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. This decision is as radical in the direction of liberty as the New Deal was radical in the direction of socialism. Click here to read the decision http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/10pdf/09-1227.pdf

In short, freedom advocates like us just got a green light from the USSC to bring more cases under the 10th Amendment. This will have hugepositiveimplications for freedom so long as the current constitution of the court holds.

Here is our favorite passage: "Federalism secures the freedom of the individual. It allows States to respond, through the enactment of positive law, to the initiative of those who seek a voice in shaping the destiny of their own times without having to rely solely upon the political processes that control a remote central power." We will put this precedent to work immediately when we file our opening brief in the Obamacare lawsuit Monday, and also in our defense of Save Our Secret Ballot against the NLRB challenge, and many more cases to come.
One other important note: Sometimes little cases make big constitutional law. This case involved a woman who was prosecuted under federal law for harassing her husband's girlfriendnot the set of facts ordinarily creating an important precedent. Some of our cases, too, are seemingly "little" but with big principles at stake.

Freedom is making strides in the courtroom, and we'll do our best to keep that momentum going. Thank you for your support that makes it possible.

The American Spring

The American Spring
It's on the way
by Justin Raimondo, June 20, 2011

The lamestream media still thinks it gets to define what is the mainstream, and that's why every account of the recent Republican Leadership Conference (RLC) "reported" that, yes, Ron Paul won the straw poll, but the real significance of the event was John Huntsman's second place finish. Pointing to the youthfulness and passion of the Paulians, lamestream media outlets invariably also mention the organizational prowess of the Paul Machine in getting their people to these cattle calls. Yet few noted Huntsman's organization also focused on the New Orleans gathering, which not only sent Huntsman's wife and top campaign aides but also paid supporters of Obama's ambassador to China to attend. Where did the money come from to undertake this expensive effort?

Well, we know where Ron got his money – from tens of thousands of small contributions coming in from all over the country in the famous Ron Paul " money bombs" that have wowed political professionals across the spectrum. But what about Huntsman's cash? It came from "HPAC ," the political action committee Huntsman launched soon after resigning his ambassadorship: and where did that money come from? Well, since Huntsman has yet to actually declare, he doesn't have to disclose that information, but what I want to know is did he pay for those RLC votes in dollars or yuan?

I'm only half-kidding about that, but the main point is that the lamestreamers – and their neocon bag men – are determined to rob the only consistent anti-interventionist in the race of his victories, no matter how many he chalks up. This is pretty much par for the course, but what's really absurd about this dismissive attitude is the media's unwillingness to recognize the enormous intellectual influence of Paul's views – and especially his foreign policy views – have had on the GOP, and not just on the activist base, but the wider Republican electorate. Take a look at this recent Pew Poll, the results of which are summed up in their headline: "In Shift From Bush Era, More Conservatives Say 'Come Home America.'"

"In their first major presidential debate June 13, the Republican candidates sketched out a cautious approach to U.S. global engagement that would represent a departure from the policies of the Bush administration. Yet their ideas are very much in tune with the evolving views of the GOP base.

" In the Pew Research Center's political typology survey, released May 4, majorities in every partisan group –including 55% of conservative Republicans – said the U.S. 'should pay less attention to problems overseas and concentrate on problems here at home.'

"In December 2004, conservative Republicans had been the only group in which a majority had expressed the opposing view – 58% said 'it is best for the future of our country to be active in world affairs.' The proportion of conservative Republicans supporting U.S. activism in world affairs has fallen by 19 points to 39%. Since 2004, liberal Democrats and independents also have become less supportive of U.S. global engagement, but the change has been most dramatic among conservatives."

Even more definitively, more Republicans (45%) than Democrats (43%) now say "the U.S. should mind its own business internationally." In previous surveys, the MYOB faction of the GOP was half as large.

Paul's influence on the foreign policy debate in the GOP is hard to deny, even if you're a "reporter." Yet deny it they have: they're not about to give any credit to someone they consider The Enemy. Christiane Amanpour spent the entire hour of her Sunday show giving John McCain a platform to denounce Republican "isolationism" – and herself sounding the alarm throughout the other segments – without once mentioning the most prominent "isolationist" of them all, the one who made it okay – and then cool – to question America's burden of empire in polite Republican company: Ron Paul.

Surely the War Party is scared to death that the so-called "isolationist" (i.e., anti-meddling) wing of the GOP will take over: what really mortifies them, however, isn't Paul winning straw polls (although they don't like it), but the other candidates echoing Paul's views, albeit in vague and very watered-down terms. That's why McCain, the architect of the GOP's last electoral disaster, and his neoconservative janissaries have taken to the hustings to exorcise the "isolationist" demon.

McCain has less credibility among conservatives than even Romney, and sending him out there to make the case for US intervention in Libya probably helps the "isolationist" cause more than it hurts, and so we have the War Party moving on another front – the familiar PNAC tactic of issuing "open letters," this time decrying House Republicans for not supporting Obama's Libya adventure. Drafted by Elliott Abrams, Robert Kagan, and William Kristol – one convicted criminal and two chickenhawks – the letter, which expresses "grave concern" that House Republicans aren't reflexively supporting the spilling of American blood, "is now being circulated for signature by leading Republican and conservative foreign policy types." Just how many of these "types" have signed on so far is unknown: what is known, however, is that the admonitions of the neocons and their failed presidential candidate are likely to have zero effect on the emerging Republican foreign policy consensus.

One major problem for the War Party is that neither McCain nor the Kristol-Kagan-Abrams triumvirate really offer any substantial arguments in support of their views. We are told that there will be horrific consequences if we are "defeated" by Gadhafi, and yet there is nothing too specific, only that ending our participation in the war "would suggest that American leadership and resolution were now gravely in doubt." But leadership and resolution in pursuit of a mistaken course is precisely what got us into trouble in Iraq, and now Afghanistan, both of which have ended in disaster. Are we now going to follow the advice of those most responsible for these twin catastrophes and make the same mistake a third time?

Republicans are wising up to Kristol and his fellow " foreign policy types" who never met a war they didn't love. At a time when Americans are losing their jobs, their homes, and their nation, these are the last people Republicans want to hear from.

While the neocons are hoping "American leadership" exercised in Libya (and possibly Syria) will co-opt the Arab Spring, what they really fear is an American Spring. And just as they never foresaw the Arab awakening and the overthrow of US-supported dictators in Egypt and Tunisia, so they are blind to the coming American awakening – a massive grassroots rebellion against the political status quo right here in this country.

For more than half a century the foreign policy consensus of both parties has been a "politics stops at the water's edge" interventionism, in which the role of American "global leadership" was never questioned (except briefly, during the Vietnam era). That ideological hegemony is now being broken, as ordinary Americans – not the usual "foreign policy types" cashiered by the big defense contractors – are demanding the US begin minding its own business instead of everybody else's.

The neocons thought they could get away with declaring that " everything changed" after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and that Americans were too damned scared to question whether US foreign policy had to be one long killing spree extending into the indefinite future. Not so.

The present condition of the American people is often described as " war weary," but they're weary of a lot more than that: they're sick unto death of self-proclaimed "experts" like Senor Kristol and the Kagan family, who've never been anywhere near a battlefield, telling them we have to conquer the world and make sure it stays conquered.

The War Party has lost the intellectual battle – and it's just a matter of time before they lose the political battle as well. The wind is in the sails of the USS Isolationist, which might be renamed the USS Tea Partier – Captain Ron Paul at the wheel. Before you know it, the neocons will set sail for another shore and hightail it back to the Democratic party, where they were spawned. If the Dems are smart – and they aren't – they'll rebuff these parasites, who attach themselves to larger political animals and feed until their host is nothing but a drained husk. Which is what the GOP was in the wake of Obama's election victory.

Revived, and renewed by a populist upsurge, the Republican party – incredibly enough – is becoming the main political vessel of anti-interventionism in the US only a few years after leading this country into two of the most unsuccessful wars we've ever fought. There's a lesson in there, somewhere, which I wonder if the present Republican leadership is capable of understanding, let alone learning.

**JP** LETTER TO EDITOR - Friendly Opposition

Dear Join Pakistan

LETTER TO EDITOR

June 20th, 2011

Friendly Opposition

While addressing an election gathering in Azad Kashmir MNS castigated the PPP government of high corruption, saying that not a day passes when some mega corruption scandal involving billions does not surface. The question arises what is the opposition and the leader of the opposition doing in the assembly?  Is it not their task and duty to keep a check on the government and not allow it a free hand for indulging in such a blatant corruption?  Why is it not doing its duty?  The answer to this question came immediately the same day on another TV channel where Babar Awan waiving a piece of paper alleged that the Sharif brothers were the biggest defaulters of waiving the bank loans and the cases against them were still pending in the courts.  That explains everything.  You don’t touch our cases in the court and we would look the other way while you make the hey.  Allah Allah khair sallah.

Re: FW: **JP** Pakistan Army is under pressure of outsiders with the help of Media

Dear brothers,,, Top class Generals are notorious in corruption and looter of public money,,, so all the blames should be borned by these corrupt mafia in Pak Army, Navy and Airforce, not the general Army, Navy and Air Force personnel. We should all condemned these Corrupt mafia and no support for Gernals, but We should strongly support the Army personnel, kayun keh woh inn Gernailooon kay hukam kay paband haen aur apni janoon kay nazranay paish ker kay inn ko Jehannam raseed karnay ka rasta bana rahay haein.

Dear Join Pakistan

LETTER TO EDITOR

June 10th, 2011

Rangers' Killing

Seeing the video footage of the killing one can say without hesitation or reservation that it was a most unfortunate, most gruesome and totally uncalled-for COLD BLOODED MURDER.  The perpetrators of such a heinous crime must not go unpunished. The Rangers must pay Deeat to the family from their own Regimental funds, which if insufficient, should be made good by collecting the required amount from the entire force on prorate' basis.

Disciplinary action must also taken against all higher ups in the chain of command – from the Section Commander to the Battalion Commander - of the trigger happy rangers for not inculcating good order and military discipline amongst the troops under their command and failing to train them in combating such law and order situations professionally and soldierly, without resorting to indiscriminate firing.
