Re: Sikh Temple killer of 7 is former US Army psych-op

I find this who situation very strange. I have never heard of problems with Sikhs in the U.S..

The are a warrior culture, but still haven't much of a history of violence. In the U.S. at least.

Traditional Hindus see them as a sort of apostates as it is a offshoot of Hinduism.

And we in Canada know all about their animosity towards each other.

There were 2 bombs planted on Air India planes in 1985 by a small group of Sikhs in Vancouver. Flight 182 blew up over the Irish sea. Killing 329. And in a cobombing a bomb exploded at Narita International Airport in Japan where it killed 2 baggage handlers. It went off early as the terrorists forgot about Daylight Savings Time.

The Sikhs and Hindus in the south mainland area of British Columbia is ongoing with the occasional gun fight or murder.

The muslims in India don't like the Sikhs. But then, who do they like?

So, I am very curious as to just what possible motive this shooter could have had.

The idea that the U.S. government would be involved begs the question. Why?

I suspect there is a more personal motive. An argument with a landlord or neighbour.
And not some grand plan.

I will certainly be watching this case.

CBS News: Shooter Identified As Former US Military Member

August 6, 2012

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBSDC/AP) — Authorities tell CBS News that the shooter behind the deadly massacre at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin Sunday has been identified as 40-year-old Wade Michael Page.

Page previously served in the U.S. military, but was no longer on active duty, sources tell CBS News.

CBS News reports that Page enlisted in the Army in April 1992 and was given a less-than-honorable discharge in October 1998. He was last stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C., serving in the psychological operations unit.

Sunday's shooting outside the temple in suburban Milwaukee left seven dead, including the suspect, and three others critically wounded in what police called an act of domestic terrorism.

Satpal Kaleka, wife of the temple's president, Satwant Singh Kaleka, was in the front room and saw the gunman enter the temple, according to Harpreet Singh, their nephew.

"He did not speak, he just began shooting," said Singh, relaying a description of the attack from Satpal Kaleka.

Kaleka said the 6-foot-tall bald white man — who worshippers said they had never before seen at the temple — seemed like he had a purpose and knew where he was going.
