Know thy enemy ... then change his heart
However, before you can "know your enemy", you must know yourself. I think many people, Americans included, don't have a clue as to what Liberty actually is. They take the word for granted and prescribe it meaning at one end of the spectrum or the other--freedom to do whatever they want to anyone for any reason or just the right to stay in bed and feel entitled to someone else footing the bill for their welfare existence. Either perspective is utterly wrong ... another concept that they cannot comprehend: the state of being incorrect.
I am truly nauseated by the complacent, naïve, metro-sexual, moderate, willing ignorance of those of us in American who have forgotten God and the importance of faith. Not only have they abandoned God, they think God is a joke. They especially like to make fun of, belittle and deride Christians, while they ignore the radical fanaticism of Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood who does not think that God is a joke.
The Left claims the Bible is a collection of fairy tales and Christians are ignorant rubes, who are are incapable of appreciating the Left's supreme, erudite, cosmic philosophy of life, where anything goes – the more depraved the better. At the same time, Christians around the world are being persecuted in droves by Islamic fundamentalists … they must be threatened by fairy tales too? Hardly. They believe we are the infidels and killing us serves to honor Allah.
The Progressive embrace of Islam is a matter of convenience for the Left. After all, they believe America was unjustly founded and needs to be apologized for! Islam claims America is the great Satan and, according to them, America is the source of every evil on the planet. So the politically correct crowd jumps on the Sharia bandwagon and begins to wail about the violation of Muslim civil rights, while wiping their posteriors with the civil rights of Christians.
In Iran, Christian pastor Youcef Nadarkhani has been imprisoned for a thousand-plus days now and sentenced to death for the unthinkable crime of apostasy—refusing to recant his Christian faith. His story can be read in a recent Wall Street Journal article.
In Somalia, at the end of July, Abdi Jeylani Malaq Marshale, a comedian well known poking fun at Al-Qaeda linked Shebab insurgents, was shot dead in the county's capital Mogadishu. He was killed outside the Kulmiye radio station, where he worked as drama producer and performer. "He had not done anything wrong to anybody, as far as we are concerned, but they shot him in the head and shoulders," said Yusuf Keynan, a presenter at Kulmiye radio. So far, the ruthless insurgents have targeted and killed one journalist for each month of this year.
The living hell that is Syria continues to hemorrhage death and destruction. Assad, determined to remain in power, allows his citizens--women and children included, to be killed by the thousands. Russia and China refuse to allow to any international intervention. The cauldron of turmoil in the Middle East continues to simmer as the rest of the world lays blame at the feet of Israel.
More British Schools Drop Holocaust History Lessons To Avoid Offending Muslim Students… Well now, that will make it all better won't it? Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says: "The existence of the Zionist regime is an insult to all humanity." Ahmadinejad called Israel "a corrupt, anti-human organized minority group standing up to all divine values."
And what do our esteemed journalists and news media say if anything?
"Conservatives are hateful, Islamophobic bigots."
Take a look at this pathetic bit of vapid commentary. It is roughly a year old but it is very representative of the dismissive, willing denial of the Left and their pacifistic platitudes. They want to embrace this insanity and give Muslims special rights--Sharia Law within our borders . Because we question the intelligence of that idea, we are labeled intolerant!
Muslim Congressman Slammed By Tea Party Republican
The infection has even reached the upper levels of our military. Recently, U.S. Marine Gen. John Allen (commander of coalition forces in Afghanistan) was asked how to account for the recent increase in so-called "green-on-blue" attacks on US soldiers in Afghanistan; he said that it "may have something to do with Ramazan." Ramazan is the word for Ramadan widely used in South Asia. Why he chose that enunciation is unclear to me.
(see Video here)
I think this sounds like a load of placating excrement. The fact is--thanks to Obama--there is no strategy; there is no leadership; and, therefore, there is no reason for our troops to remain in Afghanistan--where they are vulnerable to the unpredictable outbursts of violent, fanatical Muslims. What would be an effective strategy? LTC (Retired) and Congressman Allen West defines the answer to this question: The Best Strategic Vision for the United States I Have Ever Heard.
Denial is the kiss of death ...
To add insult to injury, our President claims America is more respected in the world now--thanks to his supreme leadership skills, of course (flatulence here). In fact, Obama has declared the "war on terror" is over. However, someone forgot to tell the Egyptians, who are so enthused at his diplomacy that they hurled shoes, tomatoes and insults at Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on her last visit there. The President's Muslim "outreach" is not appreciated by Islam; they see it as weakness and vulnerability. They don't need the President's charity; their goal is to bring America to its knees, then destroy it! They will take what they want in the name of Allah, regardless of Obama's naïve placation. They are now publicly crucifying (literally) people who oppose the new government there and Obama has said absolutely nothing in condemnation of this, instead he is supporting them with our tax dollars!
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
- Winston Churchill
Trust your intuition ...
Are we wrong or are we misunderstood by people who are ignorant to the true equilibriums of life? I think it is the latter. Muslims believe the Qur'an is perfect and unaltered. Few Muslims ever question their own beliefs. For many of them, that is understandable, considering their cultural isolation. They have never been taught to do so. I have doubted my government, myself, and Christianity. And ... I had my doubts about Islam before I began my research.
Where Islam loses me is the fact the Qur'an stipulates all other religions are subjugate to it. There are so many splinters of Islam that resort to violence and terrorism--even against other Muslims. There are no options, either renounce your chosen belief and convert to Islam or else. Renouncing Islam is a crime--Apostasy; it is punishable by death. There is seemingly no respect for life, only a reverence for death--the bloodier, the better. It is preferable to die in the act of Jihad according to the tenets of Islam.
Additionally, Jesus told us to beware of the false prophet. Ironically, Muhammad is the only prophet who thought he was possessed by Satan, confused by Satan. Muhammed is alleged to have become suicidal after receiving his "divine revelations." This isn't hearsay. Muhammad's angst after being "seized by the angel Gabriel" is documented by Muslim scholars.
After the events of 9/11, I wanted to know more about Islam. I had some intuitive feelings and ideas about it, but I was ignorant. So, I sought to educate myself, and I have. Despite my limited understanding of Islam, I think my doubts were valid. I am at liberty to have doubts because I am free ... I am an American. This, too, might be a horribly difficult concept for someone else to comprehend if their culture has never allowed them to imagine anything else other than a single, prescribed itinerary--the Qur'an.
Many of us don't seem to care about Islam or the Muslim Brotherhood; we don't care about religion to begin with, so why should we spend any time concerning ourselves with Islam? Besides, it is complicated; their names are hard to pronounce and it is difficult to understand the language--Arabic. One in four people in the world are Muslim. Radical Islam is not representative of all Muslims. They are not a monolithic block of people. There is as much diversity with Muslims as there is with Christians, but you don't see groups of Christians persecuting other Christians or other peoples and committing violence on a regular basis.
Now, that hasn't stopped some people from deriding me for explaining what I have learned. They would say, because I am not a Muslim, I have no authority from which to criticize Islam--as if they would ever be critical of themselves. In my studies, I have learned more about myself and my own chosen faith (Christianity) and much about Islam. I also learned that I did have some misconceptions about Islam and Muslims. I recently discovered a series of videos that explains so much--so very well--that I have to share it with you. Nabeel Qureshi: Islam Through the Eyes of Muslims - Apologetics to Islam is a wonderfully enlightening presentation that is as heartwarming as it is truthful. It has been posted here at TRP before, but I don't think it could ever be posted often enough.
To start with, Apologetics is not the study of apologies:
apol•o•get•ics
noun pl but singular or pl in constr \-tiks\
Definition of APOLOGETICS
1: systematic argumentative discourse in defense (as of a doctrine)
2: a branch of theology devoted to the defense of the divine origin and authority of Christianity
This is very important. Although some what lengthy, you would do well to invest the time to watch. Gain an understanding of Islam like none you ever heard before--from a former Muslim who, at great risk to himself, and the loss of his family's respect, converted from Islam to Christianity. This speaks for itself; it is a must "watch." Listen and learn!
Nabeel Qureshi: Islam Through the Eyes of Muslims - Apologetics to Islam (a series: 1 of 7)
Most Islamic teachings are from modern sources, as Nabeel explains. The older sources were very contradictory to what his understanding of Islam was. They are, in fact, contradictory to what is taught about Islam today. If you watch his presentation, he will explain this. Before the Qur'an, there was no Arabic literature. The Qur'an was the first book ever written in Arabic and it is believed to be the only book necessary for one to read in all the world, as it is "perfect" and "unaltered" since its creation. Islam teaches that all nations have had prophets, and they all taught Islam, but their message has been corrupted and Allah sent one last prophet, Muhammad, to correct this. According to the Qur'an Christians, Jews and Muslims are part of the same tradition, but are corrupt. Christians and Jews are known as "People of the Book"; they are considered infidels or kuffar.
Judaism and Christianity predate Islam by well over a thousand years, so how could they have corrupted a religion that hadn't yet come into existence?
Time-line map of Israel through history
Would a just, benevolent God condone the senseless violence that is ordained in the teachings of the Qur'an--violence that we have all witnessed in our lifetime?
We are going to explore this question and many more in my pursuit of understanding. I hope you will make the journey with me, especially if you are Muslim. You may discover a whole new world of possibility within yourself ...
"Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."
- Muhammad
(versus)
"And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town."
- Jesus Christ
My purpose for writing this is to ask Muslims to search their hearts and ask themselves if they can truly accept the violence that is appropriated in the Qur'an.
Part 2 to follow soon ...
