Friday, April 27, 2012 Ron Paul, Smoking Hot Dates Coming Up and the RNC's Real End Game As the primary/caucus beauty contest season winds down, the real fight for delegates begins. Smoking Hot dates coming up where delegates will be awarded to the Republican National Convention are as follows: 4/26-4/28 Alaska State GOP Convention - 27 delegates (I have a bad feeling about this because the State GOP Machine has shutout Paulites despite the fact that Ron Paul got 24%). 4/28 Kansas State Party Committee Meeting - 40 delegates (Santorum got 51%, Romney 21, Gingrich 14 and Ron Paul 13 in the caucus). The strongly theocon-neocon Kansas Republicans will probably opt for Romney because at least they get their wars even if they lose on the social issues. 4/28 Delaware State Convention - 17 delegates. Romney will easily win. 5/5 - 5/6 Maine District Caucuses and State Convention - 24 delegates (where Romney got 38% and Ron Paul 36% in a primary fraught with vote fraud allegations). What can the Maine GOP do to disenfranchise the Paulites? They will use every dirty trick in the GOP's playbook to squash the Paulites. 5/5 - 5/6 Nevada State Convention - 28 delegates (Romney got 50%, Gingrich 21 and Ron Paul 19 in a highly contentious caucus with rampant vote fraud allegations). The Nevada State Convention could be a raucous affair. In 2008, the Paulites were close to taking it over and the Nevada GOP Chair just shut down the convention. For the Paulites and liberty activists, the two most exciting state conventions will be Minnesota on May 28-19 and Iowa on June 16. In Iowa and Minnesota it has been widely reported that the Paulites were very successful at the county level and in district conventions. Hence, they will have considerable strength going into these state conventions. Santorum and Gingrich cleaned up in the south and parts of the midwest. Since both candidates are now out of the race and have endorsed Romney, it's expected that their delegates will go with Romney. Santorum and Gingrich voters are overwhelmingly establishment Republicans who crave endless wars, big government and the welfare-warfare state. On the 'done deal' side, some states have finished the delegate process: NH (1/10) 12 delegates, Romney 9, Paul 3 (decided at primary) ND (4/1) 28 delegates, Romney 20, Santorum 6, Paul 2 TN (4/7) 58 delegates Santorum 29, Romney 17, Gingrich 9, plus 3 unpledged. Tentative CO (4/14) 36 delegates Romney 14, Santorum 6, Ron Paul 2, plus 14 uncommitted delegates. WY (4/14) 29 delegates Romney 23, Santorum 2, Paul 1, plus 1 uncommitted and 2 available In NH, Ron Paul got 23% of the vote and 25% of the 12 delegates. In TN, Santorum got 37% of the vote but 53% of the delegates. Romney got 28% of the vote but 31% of the delegates. Gingrich got 24% of the vote and 16% of the delegates. Ron Paul got 9% of the vote and zero delegates. The delegates are "tentative" because TN will probably end up awarding all its delegates to Romney. In ND, Ron Paul got 28% of the caucus vote but only 7% of the delegates. Santorum got 40% of the caucus vote but only 21% of the delegates. Romney got 24% of the caucus vote but 71% of the delegates. In CO, Ron Paul got 12% of the caucus vote, but 5.5% of the delegates. Santorum got 40% of the vote but only 17% of the delegates. Romney got 35% of the vote but 39% of the delegates. However, CO has 14 uncommitted delegates. In WY, Ron Paul got 21% of the vote but only 3% of the delegates. Santorum got 32% of the vote but only 7% of the delegates. Romney got 39% of the vote but 79% of the delegates. WY has 3 uncommitted delegates. It's 100% true that Republicans and GOP party officials have done everything possible to shut out and marginalize Ron Paul and the Paulites. GOP treachery is best explained by what happened in Wyoming as posted on Doug Wead's blog. And we [Ron Paul supporters] did take over the Nominating Committee on Friday. We had 16 out of 44 of the votes in the committee but we managed to take 9 out of the 14 preferred delegate positions on the ballot. I actually saw/heard one guy telling that to Senator Enzi and his wife Diana. 'The Ron Paul people took over the Nominations Committee' and Diana put her hand over her mouth and gasped, 'OH NO!' You would think someone just told her we killed her dog There was a definite sick feeling at the convention. I didn't see a rally behind Romney at all. It took all the Senators, the Governor and even the former VP of the U.S. (Dick Cheney) getting on stage and telling them to suck it up and vote for Romney; but the delegates did not vote Romney with excitement. They did it because they were told that there was no other choice that 'could win.'" Read the rest here. Politics is very much a contact sport that is fought in trench warfare. It's gritty, it's dirty and it's corrupt. The elites who hold power will do anything to preserve their power. The biggest obstacle for Paulites are the 'winner take all' rules that exist in many states. 'Winner take all' rules are designed to exclusively benefit the anointed establishment candidate, shut out grassroots activists and prevents a brokered convention. Then there's RNC Rule 40 (b) which states: Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall demonstrate the support of a plurality of the delegates from each of five (5) or more states, severally, prior to the presentation of the name of that candidate for nomination. If Ron Paul doesn't get a plurality of the delegates in 5 states, he will not be on the ballot at the convention in Tampa. This is why Gingrich dropped out; he only won GA and SC and stood no chance of meeting the threshold. Santorum gave it up for the good of the party and his future political career because he would have lost to Romney anyway. But Ron Paul? The last thing the RNC wants is Ron Paul on the ballot in Tampa. If he's on the ballot, he automatically gets to speak and the last thing the RNC wants is Ron Paul speaking at its neocon statist fest. What will the RNC do to stop Ron Paul from having a plurality in at least 5 states? They will do anything and everything.
