Hmmm. What would be the correct Islamic interpretation of this event? Does it mean that Allah is upset at protests against America, and that he has started smiting anyone who dares criticize our country? Or does it mean that America is so poisonous, even the fumes of our flag are deadly? I'm only raising the question because I know that if Terry Jones had dropped dead from the fumes of a burning Qur'an, Muslims would have been screaming "Allahu Akbar" and claiming his death as clear proof of divine intervention. FoxNews--Burning an American flag proved fatal for a Pakistani protester, who reportedly died from inhaling fumes from the ignited icon of independence.
Some 10,000 people rallied this week in Lahore, the capital of the Punjab province, to protest the movie trailer that Muslims say insults Islam, according to the International Herald-Tribune. One participant, identified as Abdullah Ismail, died after being taken to an area hospital. Witnesses said he had complained of feeling sick from the smoke from American flags burnt at the rally. | U.S. Military Halts Joint Operations with Afghan Forces Posted: 18 Sep 2012 01:41 PM PDT Ouch. The U.S. Government just publicly admitted that they can't even trust the Afghan soldiers who say they're on our side. It's too bad that dozens of soldiers had to be killed by "insiders" before the government finally acknowledged the problem. AFGHANISTAN--The U.S. military has suspended the bulk of joint field operations with Afghan troops amid a wave of so-called insider attacks and concern about protests over an anti-Islam film.
Fox News has learned that while U.S. troops are still patrolling, as are the Afghans, the two sides are not running operations together for the time being without special approval.
Until now, U.S. and NATO troops routinely conducted operations with their Afghan counterparts. But under the new order, such operations will now require the approval of a regional commander. Fox News was told the step is a temporary measure.
The move comes after Afghan police on Sunday killed four American soldiers, and a gunman in an Afghan militia uniform shot dead two British soldiers a day earlier. It also comes in the wake of the week-long wave of protests across the Muslim world over an anti-Islam film. (Continue Reading.)

Even in U.S. Posted: 18 Sep 2012 10:35 AM PDT But make no mistake about it: Even though Islam calls for brutally beheading anyone who leaves the religion or criticizes Muhammad, it's still a religion of peace, tolerance, teddy bears, and candy-coated raindrops. FoxNews--An Iranian man recently granted asylum in the U.S. after converting from Islam to Christianity told FoxNews.com he still fears the long arm of the rogue regime in Tehran.
The man, whose name is being withheld, said he fears hardline Muslims could come after him, even in the U.S. The regime in Tehran has recently vowed to "hunt down" the makers of an anti-Islam film trailer and has upped the price on novelist Salman Rushdie's head for offending the religion. Because apostasy - renouncing Islam - is punishable by death, the man told FoxNews.com he lives in fear.
"I feel if I reveal that I converted to Christianity, the Muslims here may retaliate against me," the man, who is in his early thirties, said in an exclusive interview. "In many verses in the Koran, Muslims are told to kill, behead, cut fingers, or severely arrest and tie the kafirs," or nonbelievers.
The man was born into a Muslim family in northern Iran. But as he grew older, he said he began to question the harsh application of Islamic doctrine in Iranian society.
"I asked myself why men were prohibited from shaking hands with women or why women were required to wear a scarf or veil," he said. "In addition, the Koran says to kill [nonbelievers]."
"I questioned whether these teachings were at odds with humanity and morality," he said, adding that he believes many people in Iran wrestle with the same issues.
After moving to the U.S. in 2009 as a doctoral student, the man befriended several Christians and began attending Bible study. Two years later, he converted to Christianity, then sought the help of the American Center for Law and Justice in a bid to obtain asylum. | Egypt Issues Arrest Warrants for Seven People Associated with Muhammad Film Posted: 18 Sep 2012 09:17 AM PDT And yet the world keeps assuring us that Sharia is entirely compatible with the U.S. Constitution. CAIRO — Egypt's general prosecutor issued arrest warrants Tuesday for seven Egyptian Coptic Christians and a Florida-based American pastor and referred them to trial on charges linked to an anti-Islam film that has sparked riots across the Muslim world.
The case is largely symbolic since the seven men and one woman are believed to be outside of Egypt and unlikely to travel to the country to face the charges. Instead, the prosecutor's decision to take legal appears aimed at absorbing at least some of the public anger over the amateur film, which portrays the Prophet Muhammad as a fraud, womanizer and buffoon.
The prosecutor's office said in a statement that the accused, which includes the film's alleged producer, face charges of harming national unity, insulting and publicly attacking Islam and spreading false information. The office said they could face the death penalty, if convicted. No date for the trial has been set. (Continue Reading.)
