Though you are right that ultimately we the people of Pakistan are responsible for our ruination, but, remember, it were the same very people who had created Pakistan. Till about 1965, despite our various failings - mostly on account of the power hungry politicians and rulers - the nation was doing reasonably well. Then, come politicians like ZAB and the Nau Sitarey who sowed the seeds of dissension and sectarianism amongst us. Mullah Zia totaled the tally and till date we are in the quagmire. Mullahs and extremists are not only retrogressive but also deviously divisive. Religion would have to be TOTALLY separated from the State, if Pakistan has to progress.
And, we the people MUST ensure that they (the Religious Parties) never find access to power in Pakistan.
Next, the crook professional, hereditary and lutera & plunderer politicians MUST also be kept out, if we have to survive and progress.
Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)
the people of Pakistan.
As far as the US is concerned it was kicked out of Cuba & from Vietnam and is likely to be thrown out from Afghanistan. Frankly, if need be we can stand up to them, all we have to do is to tighten our belts a bit.
As far as the Extremist elements/religious parties are concerned, they are from within us - we, the people of Pakistan are to be blamed for everything.
If we decide that there are certain things that we have to do for Pakistan, and there is to be no compromise on that ---- irrespective of what religion, tribe or cast we belong to or what political creed we are from. And if a united Pakistan of 200 million even spit on the extremist elements, we can get rid of them.
All we have to be is::: just good Pakistanis.
Unfortunately ---- Media is totally sold out --- otherwise this was one organ of the country which could have greatly helped in making us into one nation.
So stop blaming others - they would respect you, provided you are worth respecting !
Cheers & Regards,
Qaisar

I was chatting over the phone with my friend a while ago, something he said, prompted this question. I put the question before you:
Who do YOU consider Pakistan's Enemy No 1:
1- USA
OR
2-Extremist elements/religious parties?
What is the reason for your choice?
