The point you make is valid but leaves me even more saddened. In the
world I grew up in, lying was a rare exception, not a common
occurrence.A handshake was a commitment. Sixty pages of legal mumbo
jumbo was not required to force an entity or individual to live up to
their promise. Yes, there have always been liars and cheats, but those
individuals were chastised by society and suffered the consequences of
doing so. Understanding and dealing with this new set of rules is one
thing. Accepting this new code of dishonor is quite another.
