In classic Marxism, the economic system of "socialism" is defined as an equality of pay or income, whereas "communism" is the even more radical re-distribution of income and wealth, of --
"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs."
Writing for Commentary magazine on July 12, 2011, John Steel Gordon notes that Obama's July 11 press conference — "in which he only took questions from left-leaning reporters apparently–contained an amazing statement":
And I do not want, and I will not accept, a deal in which I am asked to do nothing, in fact, I'm able to keep hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional income that I don't need, while a parent out there who is struggling to figure out how to send their kid to college suddenly finds that they've got a couple thousand dollars less in grants or student loans.
So Obama thinks that whatever surplus income you and I have earned ("surplus" means the money that is left after you've provided and paid for the necessities of food, shelter, and clothing that keep you alive) are money we "don't need" which should be re-distributed to those who are "struggling".
That's it, folks. All doubts are gone. The man's a commie.
