'Ben, Please Use Your Magic To Save Us!'

This, apparently, is what passes for thinking at the CNBC cable channel. Under a headline that reads "Demystifying the Fed," CNBC goes on to ask: "If the Fed can't save us, who can?" Perhaps this is an expected consequence of news media employers hiring journalism majors!
Events often appear "mystifying" for one reason: the failure to identify causal relationships. Concealing what one is doing, and then condemning those who ask for explanations as "paranoid conspiracy theorists," is the height of intellectual dishonesty. Ron Paul has long been working to "demystify the Fed" by exposing this agency's underside to sunlight, an effort I am unfamiliar with CNBC helping along.
If Uncle Willie was dying of cirrhosis of the liver -- brought about through decades of alcoholism -- would his family be asking "If the distillers can't save him, who can?"
